Analyses of Two Experiencers’ Clothing Worn During an Abduction (Salt Fork State Park, Ohio)

Background

On August 29-30, 2014 two men were on a fishing/camping trip at an Ohio state park (Salt Fork, Cambridge, Ohio). The older man (43) was accompanied by a young man (19) who was a friend of his daughter. The older man is a construction worker who owns his own business. They were camped by the lake shore with chairs about two feet from the water, and would routinely stoke the fire every hour. There was no one else in the vicinity. Late in the evening the two men saw a light low in the sky. It moved back and forth to tree top level. About 1:30 a.m. they heard a shrill ‘woman-sounding” voice. It should be noted that many stories of ‘high strangeness’ abound (bigfoot, hauntings, UFOs) at Salt Fork.1 There is a cave in the park with a waterfall where a girl supposedly died. The men became increasing nervous. After 1:30 a.m. the older man’s wife and daughter could not contact them. The men have no recollection of what happened for three hours. They became ‘aware’ at 5:19 a.m. in the morning. The fire was out. The men grabbed their belongings and changed clothes. As the older man changed clothes he noticed his shirt was inside out! It should be noted that no alcohol was in their cooler, only water.

There are two objectives of this analysis. The first is to identify any stains and spots left on various pieces of clothing for anomalies which may be related to the abduction. The second is to compare these results to two analyses, one done on the dress Betty Hill wore during her abduction and the other done on an experiencer’s tee shirt worn during an abduction in Winnipeg, Canada.

Analysis of a Specimen Pulled from an Experiencer’s Back (April 4, 2012, Northwestern, Pennsylvania)

Background

A specimen which included a small fiber was removed from the back of an Experiencer on April 4, 2012. There is also a crystalline material included with the specimen. The object is to determine the composition of the specimen and crystal, and whether it could be related to an alien implant. Another specimen from the same experiencer was recently analyzed.

Conclusions

The specimen is a multi-component mixture. In order of approximate concentration these include calcium carbonate (calcite), ester type material (possible glycerol type or sorbitan monooleate) and quartz. Visually noted is a fiber which is a minor part of the specimen. It could not be identified because of the interference of the other components. However, it is speculated to be of plant origin.
The crystal is identified as sucrose which is commonly known as sugar.
The specimen and crystal are not related to an alien implant. The above components are very common with many uses. Quartz (possible sand) and calcium carbonate (calcite) are common minerals in soil. There are other uses. The ester appears to be of natural origin, i.e. it’s commonly found in plants, human respiratory products, animals.

Analysis of a Fibrous Material Removed from an Experiencer’s Shoulder (August 15, 2015, Northwestern, Pennsylvania)

Background

A fibrous material was removed from the right shoulder blade of an Experiencer on August 15, 2015. From email exchanges this analyst understands that at least one other ‘fiber’ was pulled from the Experiencer’s back in 2012. The object is to determine the composition of the specimen, and whether it could be related to an alien implant.

Conclusions

The specimen is not an alien implant. It is of plant origin and has a composition typical to splinter from a piece of wood, i.e. cellulose, lignin, and hemicelluloses. This is confirmed by microscopic and infrared analysis. A small amount of blood is detected on the specimen.
The shoulder location of the specimen is curious. It is certainly not a common place for a splinter to be found. If connected to an abduction, this along with a second fibrous material removed from the back in 2012 might suggest a clue to the environment or location surrounding the event.

Analysis of an Anomalous Foreign Object (AFO) Expelled from the Throat of an Experiencer (July 24, 2014, Milwaukie, Oregon, CMS Case File: 58591)

Background

The background as reported in the posted CMS file on the MUFON website1 reads as follows. “Witness contacted Oregon MUFON Asst. SD regarding an apparent implant removed from right adenoid or other glandular passage in his throat. Object has been secured by Oregon SD and will be submitted for analysis. Additional sighting experiences related dating back to approximately 1946 or 1947. These will be described in the complete report.” The objective is to identify the AFO.

Conclusions

The sample is composed of primarily calcium phosphate and a small amount of calcium carbonate. Possibly a very small amount of calcium oxalate could be present. It is 3 millimeters in diameter and weighs 0.0524 grams.
These types of calcium deposits (calcifications) can be found throughout the human body and caused by a variety of medical problems. The source is not from a foreign implant.

Analysis of a Suspected Alien Implant

Background

The background as described by Del Anderson follows:

“A friend of mine who is versed in Ufology had an unusual experience recently, about the middle of Feb. 2005. He lives in SC at present. He was having trouble with a sore nose and when he came out to the living room on the morning following the evening he was having trouble he found a triangular piece of material on the floor, directly below where he sat that previous evening.”

A photograph of the triangular object next to a ruler follows:

The objective is to identify the above material.

Conclusions

The object found on the floor is identified as a man-made polymer. Specifically the polymer composition is identified as polycarbonate + poly(styrene:acrylonitrile:butadiene). This shows the object is not an alien implant.

Analysis of a Blue Substance found on a Victim After a Suspected Abduction in Southern Georgia, June 23, 2003

Background

Investigators Billy K. Rachels and Gordon Reeves provided the following background.

“A south Georgia woman (name and location withheld by request) awoke on Monday, June 23, 2003 at 5:30 a.m. to a strange sight. Looking in the mirror she saw a dried blue substance all the way around her neck, a big blob on her hair on the back of her head, as well as some on the pillow case. Upon a closer look, there was a small amount on the palms of her hands, in between her fingers, and on the back of her arms between wrist and elbow. It looked like she had been trying to resist it being put on her. Her husband who had been sleeping right next to her had none on him, and the two small dogs who sleep with them had none on them. Checking the entire mobile home they could not find a source for the blue stuff plus all the windows and doors were still locked. If this is true – how did it get in the house and on her?

I should point out this person has had many paranormal events in her life ever since she was a little girl. Some I have investigated in the past. I have found her to be very truthful. Because of this back history, I think this event is going to fall into the UFO field. Here is my guess on what happened. No. 1 – They beamed into the house and put it on her, or No. 2 – (the one I like best) they beamed her out and did it someplace else. Also let me add, the two small dogs who will bark at the slightest sound slept quietly all night long.

Now to the substance itself; first of all this does not glow in the dark as reported in some abduction cases. Let me tell you what we do know. The stuff did not burn her skin, nor did it stain the skin, and she has suffered no ill effects from it. When it is dry it looks like water color paint, and when it is in water it is a beautiful turquoise blue (reminds me of blue Kool-Aid.) She said it washed right off, so it is not ink. She said it was highly concentrated as a quart washed off of her. She wanted to get it off and get to work and did not save any. But three days later she washed a hair bow she had been wearing that night and got a bathroom sink full of it and saved approximately a half of pint in a clean jay. It had dried on the pillowcase, but was also on the pillow meaning at some point it was wet. She said she dreamed something wet was being put on her, but has no other memory as to what really happened. Is dissolves very easily in water and has only a slight scent to it. It appears to evaporate very quickly on the finger, like it has a drying agent in it. It appears when dry on cloth to burn at a very high temperature. She stated when water first hit it on the hair bow what looked like steam (but was not) came up, indicating some type of chemical reaction.”

The object of this analysis is to identify the blue substance.

Conclusions

The substance is identified as mostly a mixture of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) salts. Disodium copper EDTA (Na2Cu-EDTA) is one of the salts and gives the substance its blue color. The other salts are probably derivatives of sodium and possibly other metals, e.g. tetra sodium EDTA disodium magnesium EDTA etc. There is a small amount of poly(dimethylsiloxane). Also indicated is a trace amount of long chain carboxylic acid and probably ester. These later materials could be contaminants.

EDTA and its salts have a multitude of uses. Some include the following: detergents; liquid soaps; shampoos; agricultural chemical sprays; metal cleaning and plating; metal chelating agent; treatment of chlorosis; decontamination of radioactive surfaces; metal deactivator in vegetable oils, oil emulsions, pharmaceutical products, etc; anticoagulant of blood; eluting agent in ion exchange; to remove insoluble deposits of calcium and magnesium soaps; in textiles to improve dyeing, scouring, and detergent operations; antioxidant; clarification of liquids; analytical chemistry, spectrophotometric titration; aid in reducing blood cholesterol; in medicine to treat lead poisoning and calcinosis; food additive (preservative). Some listings specifically for disodium copper EDTA include: a colorant in cosmetics; a pesticide; fertilizer; for copper deficient soils.

Analysis of Soils Associated with a Possible UFO Abduction (Westland, Michigan, July 19, 2003)

Background

A possible abduction event occurred on July 19, 2003 in Westland, Michigan. Following is the witness account.

“I found myself sleepwalking outside in my backyard when I gained consciousness. I noticed that there were pod like ships landing all over my neighborhood, and I decided to hide after seeing an older man being chased by something. I hid in what I thought was a triangular shaped tent. The old man ran towards my hiding spot and was knocked unconscious somehow. The next thing I know this “tent” (it couldn’t have been a tent because it was hard and had an acute triangular opening) is surrounded by a soft color blue (but bright) light. Both the “tent” and I start to rise off the ground and the old man falls out onto the ground. The next thing I remember is a blond haired, soft spoken woman calling my name “Rebecca, wake up”. I am lying on my stomach and my lower back is in a lot of pain. I remember mumbling that I was hurting. The room was dark and seemed to have machines or equipment along the wall that was closest to my head. She escorted me out the door and down a fairly narrow hall to a room with bunk like beds for me and 3 blond haired boys who were genetically related to me. Shortly after that I woke up.”

“I wasn’t sure what to make of this but I did remember the boys and knew that they were my cousin Rick’s sons. I have not seen my cousin in over 15 years and did not know that he even had kids or a wife but I somehow knew that they were his sons. I knew their ages, what they looked like and even the name Christian came to mind. Because this disturbed me so much, I decided to find my cousin Rick. My mother got a hold of his wife and discovered that Rick has three sons each about the age I said. They all have blonde hair and look considerably like their father (my cousin) and they all have Christian (very biblical) names like Noah. The funny thing is that I knew one of the kids had a pull-up on and much to my surprise the oldest son has bladder issues and wears them. Finding all of this out confirmed that it more than likely was not a dream and now I do not know what to think.”

A few months later it was noted that there was a ground disturbance at the site where a “pod” was located. “According to the (above) narrative, this is probably NOT a craft ‘touchdown” site, per se, i.e., subject to possible fuel contamination, etc. It is ‘allegedly’ an energy trace which resulted from the presence and “beaming up” of a “tent-shaped” “trap” into which the abductee ran for shelter, only to be transported, “tent” and all, to another aerial location.”

A description of the site area was provided by Chuck Lietzau and Bill Konkolesky. Bill’s notes and a drawing can be found in the appendix. The ground disturbance consists of a bare area with some pigweed, ca. 15 plants per square foot. A photograph follows.

The objective is to examine soil from the formation to see if any unusual chemicals are present.

Conclusions

No unusual foreign material was detected in the ring soils. Also, there is no evidence of an increase in “magnetic drag”. Material found in both the control soils and ring soils are the same and include ammonium nitrate, carbonate mineral, and expected natural products derived from plants, i.e. soluble celluloidal material, humates, natural ester.

It is noted that there is more ammonium nitrate in the bare area than in the control and FG (formation green) soils. Possibly the excess ammonium nitrate may be relevant. An excessive amount could cause a burn out of the vegetation.

Ammonium nitrate is commonly used as a fertilizer, but “Rebecca” says that no fertilizer has ever been used on the lawn. However, ammonium nitrate also occurs naturally in the soils. “Metabolism of humus by soil bacteria makes gaseous nitrogen (N2) in air available as ammonium (NH4 +) or nitrate (NO3-),which the plant takes up.”

However, it is unknown why excess ammonium nitrate would be created in that specific portion of the yard as opposed to the other areas.

It can also be speculated that perhaps an outside energy source may have caused the denudation of vegetation by heat and/or creation of the excess ammonium nitrate. Perhaps the propulsion system of the craft generates a strong ionizing field. This might induce oxygen and nitrogen in the air to form nitrates.

Man Recalls Encounter With Strange Creature & Missing Time

The following was submitted to UFOs NorthWest – and is used here with permission.

Summary

A man recounted a strange episode that occurred in Mar of 2016 at his apartment in Syracuse, NY. He was in bed around 2 to 3 AM. He saw a green glow emanating from his hallway and then saw a creature emerge from a closet in his bedroom.

He first thought that the creature was a cat, but realized that it had big eyes and a bald head. The creature made no sound other than it’s movements (rooting around the closet).

The next thing that the man remembers is waking up around 7 to 8 AM two days later. He was not missed at his job because he was self employed as a handyman. He was subsequently evicted from his apartment because he couldn’t afford his rent. He is now visiting his mother in New Orleans, but still lives in Syracuse.

UFOs NorthWest Note

I spoke to the witness on the phone.

He apparently did not report the sighting until he found other similar reports on the internet. He wishes to remain anonymous, but really is sure of what he saw.

Thomas E. Reed – Family Abduction

The historic UFO case of the Reed Family, was assigned a Valleeclassification of “CE4” (close encounter of the 4th kind), with a case category of 3 (physical evidence). The case has many layers and is deeply entwined and remains one of a few CE4 cases to be mentioned within the walls of the United Nations.

The evidence in this case would include a significant amount of radiation, and strong magnetic fields, and is one of a few to have been collected and documented by those in law enforcement. It includes a history of testimony gleaned from conscious recollections, an abundance of documentation, administrative testing, and official reports, followed by dark consequences. The history involves Marian Burrows, grandmother, Nancy Reed, mother, and the two brothers, Thom and Matthew.

In the quaint town of Sheffield, Massachusetts, in the 1960’s, Thomas, age 6, and his younger brother Matthew, experienced life altering events. Due to their vulnerable age, these encounters had an enormous impact on them, crushing their belief system, and denying the two boys of their reality, normalcy, and spirit.

Both have conscious memories of the lengthy experiences with non-human entities, and being taken aboard a tarnishedcircular looking vessel where an image of a willow tree was displayed, and still remains imbedded in the mind of Thomas to this day. During a fall evening, in Massachusetts, and after a barrage of bright bursts of light, a flash fired through their bedroom window, Thom was engulfed and Matthew was now speaking to an empty bed. An odd stillness accompanied the light, and seemed to be what left their mother, Nancy, and their grandmother, Marian, in a cataleptic state, in an adjacent room.

Matthew ran to his mother, only to find her in this unresponsive state from which he could not wake her. Once she partially regained her senses, Nancy headed to the boys’ bedroom, but before reaching the room, heard a cross between a loud screech and a door slamming. Matthew was no longer beside her.

Now alone in the home with only the grandmother Marian, who stayed at home while Nancy began to franticallysearch their 80-acre horse farm on horseback, where she eventually spotted them from the Appalachian Trail. Thom and Matthew were about 15 feet away from each other, on a wide, dirt path, eyes locked on one another, heavily shaken and in need of care.

According to Nancy, the boys were visibly suffering from shock. She stated Thom was not responding at all. Their mother and grandmother gave them fluids, wiped the boys down with washcloths, and wrapped them in warm blankets.

As they did so, Thom sat staring at a metal bottle top that Matthew was toying with, watching as it reacted strangely to his brother’s touch. The adults watched over the boys, until they dozed off on the living room sofas next to a fire. The later encounter of 1969, involved four members of the Reed family and the night that would finally drive them to sell their home, property and restaurant, the “Village on the Green”.

Nancy, Marian, Thom and Matthew were headed home following a horse show, at about 8:00 at night, when they observed what Marian referred to as a bright “floating strip mall” above the left side of the station wagon. The family spoke of what was felt as some sort of force, and a tingling vibe, running through their bodies, before their car coasted to a stop off to the right side of the road. Only the sounds of stones tapping under the fender walls of their car were heard, followed by a dead silence. A barometric change in pressure was also felt before a deafening eruption of katydids and crickets.

The 1976 Stanford, Kentucky Abductions

Case Summary

The following is written by BJ Booth of UFO Casebook, and is used here, with permission. It can not be reproduced in any way without permission.

Preface

The authenticity of UFO cases is usually judged by the respectability of its reporters, especially those dealing with abductions. That being the case, the report of an extraordinary series of events from three women from Stanford, Kentucky is highly regarded.

It would be on January, 6, 1976 that Mona Stafford, Louise Smith, and Elaine Thomas would have a terrifying experience with a UFO and alien beings.

The added strength of a well-conducted investigation make this one of the most quoted events in UFO annals world-wide. This report would include not only abduction, but other validating sightings, physical evidence, animal reaction, and electromagnetic effects.

Not only was this case fully reported and researched, it was followed up on; determining the long-range effects on the health and lives of these three well-regarded women.

January 6 was Mona Stafford’s 36th birthday. She was joined by her best friends Louise Smith and Elaine Thomas to celebrate the event, and just have a friendly dinner together. The three good friends took their dinner plans to the Redwood restaurant, which was located south of Lancaster, Kentucky on U.S. 27, thirty-five miles from their hometown of Liberty.

As the three finished their dinner, they started what they thought would be a nice, pleasant drive back to their houses. Little did they know what lie in store for them in what would be a night they would never… could never forget.

As the began journey, it was 38 degrees, with a south wind of 15 mph, and a visibility of 15 miles.

The UFO

Leaving the Redwood eatery at 11:15, the three women were in a jovial mood as Louise Smith sat behind the wheel of her 1967 Chevy Nova. It should be noted that none of the three had any beer or liquor to drink that night. Leaving Stanford and heading for Hustonville on Highway 78, the three suddenly see a “bright, red” object in the clear, night sky.

The sighting frightened Mona, who thought it was an airplane on fire, and heading for a crash landing. As the glowing object came closer, Smith lost control of the automobile…

The little Chevy was now going 85 mph, a speed never traveled before by Smith. In a panic, she cries, “I can’t hold the car on the road.”Mona reaches over and tries to help her, thinking that something is wrong with the steering, but she cannot control it either. The car continued its high rate of speed without deviation.

Later, Louise would state, “My foot wasn’t even on the gas pedal.” In a moment, the unknown object was frighteningly close to the Chevy. It followed from behind for a short time, then flipped on its end, coming extremely close to the driver side.

All three women would later recall the same thing. What they were looking at was an enormous, metallic, disc-shaped object with a dome on top, and a ring of red lights around its midsection. The women all saw it close enough to see a yellow, blinking light on its underbelly.

The UFO hung over the driver side of the car for a time before it moved ahead of it on the highway. As it did, a bluish-white light shot into the car, lighting up the interior of the vehicle. Later, Mrs. Smith would describe the inside of their car as being filled with “a haze like air, sort of a fog.”

In a second, all three women suffered from a burning sensation so strong that they could not open their eyes from the irritation. The last thing in the memory of Smith, Stafford, and Thomas was being backed into a pasture entrance in a “crazy manner.”

The entry was flanked on both sides by an old stone wall.

One hour and 20 minutes later, the three found themselves back in the little Chevy, again driving toward Liberty. They were shaken and tense with exposed areas of flesh; painful from the burns.

The three frightened and scared ladies finally arrived at Mrs. Smith’s home, and when they entered they noticed that the clock in the kitchen showed 1:20 A.M., confirming the trip of 35 miles had taken just over two hours. Normally it took about 45 minutes.

They immediately went to the house of their neighbor, Lowell Lee, who confirmed the time loss. Confused as to what to do next, they called the Police station. The next day, they phoned the Navy recruiting station.

Neither of the two calls afforded them any aid. The Navy station did give some of the details of the event to a Lexington TV station. The story quickly reached the press, and was given headline status.

The Investigation Begins

MUFON (Mutual UFO Network) investigator Jerry Black heard the story of the event, and immediately went to work to gain more details. Black called the three women, and asked for an interview, but Smith, Stafford, and Thomas were reluctant at first to relive the event, or to have strangers in their homes.

After more phone calls, and the offering of his sympathy and compassion for their experience, the three witnesses agreed to an interview. Also, Black invited Mrs. Peggy Schnell of Blanchester, Ohio to attend. She also had experience with these kinds of cases. Black felt that the three would feel more comfortable with a feminine presence.

The first meeting was more or less an ice-breaking session, but several very important facts were revealed. Black stated that the three women were all obviously in physical pain, they all were chain-smoking, which they attributed to the experience. They had an insatiable thirst, and all claimed excessive weight loss since the event.The three women gave some details of their observations of the UFO; its structure, and its behavior.

They also discussed some of the ill effects that they had sustained. These memories were painful to all three, as they tried to recall details in hopes that someone might be able to help them. Mrs. Thomas would state, “We live in fear of what we don’t know. I’m worried about Lou and Mona. I think they’re ready for a breakdown.”

Psychological & Physical Effects

Naturally there were some psychological problems in the aftermath of their experiences. Mrs. Smith was having difficulties in performing her everyday duties as an assistant for the Casey County Extension Office. Mrs. Stafford was not only suffering from an eye inflammation, she was desperate to know what happened during the missing time. The three women were assured that they would be able to undergo regressive hypnosis, and uncover their missing time, therefore alleviating some, if not all of their emotional stress.

Several things were evident to the investigators at this first meeting. The three women witnesses were sincere about what they had experienced, they were suffering from the so-called “beam,” and there were obvious physical scars from the encounter. Smith lifted her hair up, and showed a mark on the nape of her neck. It was a roundish, pinkish-gray blotch, the size of a half-dollar.

Another unusual revelation that came from this meeting was the strange reaction of Mrs. Smith’s parakeet. When Smith first arrived home after her experience, instead of her usual happy greeting, she received a frightening reaction from the bird. It flew into the side of its cage, and fluttered its wings in a wild display of fear. Smith proclaimed that since the first night home, her pet had not had a thing to do with her.

Did the sixth sense of the parakeet acknowledge some “unearthly” aura from Smith? Further tests were conducted in the presence of other birds, and when other people drew near, the birds were perfectly normal, but when Mrs. Smith came close, they too panicked. Her pet died in March 1976. This uncanny reaction was not the only one to come from Smith’s presence.

The minute hand of the wrist watch that Smith wore began to rapidly spin around its dial. Also, the next week after the sighting when she touched her bedroom alarm clock, it quit working. Frustrated, she threw the clock away. Another quirky problem was noticed when Louise’s car developed electrical problems.

Driving to work, she was stopped by Police who informed her that the signal lights were not working. The most annoying problem of all was the general ill health and weakness of the three unwilling witnesses of this extraordinary event. Because of this, investigators agreed that, at least for the time being, no other details of the event be released.

Walter Andrus of MUFON, and Dr. J. Allen Hynek of CUFOS, were both informed of the case, and both agreed to wait for details until the three women were in better condition.

After the initial interviews, the investigators involved were convinced that the three women’s story was disturbing, yet solid as could be. The value of this event would be historical, and though difficult, those involved had to use all of their patience to keep the dark secrets of that night to themselves, until a later time.

There was no doubt in anyone’s mind that these three well-respected, mature, and sane women had seen something not in our knowledge to understand, and that there was missing time that had to be explored. An abduction was on the minds of the principal investigators.

Dr. Hynek was called upon to provide a professional psychiatrist to perform regressive hypnosis on the three. Unfortunately, lack of funding was a big part of the decision as to who to call upon. None of the noted doctors lived anywhere near the state of Kentucky. Dr. Berthold Schwarz was contacted first, but because of his tight schedule, was not able to make the trip. Also well-respected ufologist and physician, Dr. Leo Sprinkle was considered. Sprinkle was consultant to APRO, but he was not called because he lived in Wyoming. In a stroke of good fortune, Dr. Sprinkle heard of this case, and dropped everything to go to Kentucky.

When Smith, Stafford, and Thomas were contacted about Sprinkle’s desire to help them, they refused, not knowing of Sprinkle’s reputation. At this time, the three women, though needing help, were still under the impression that in time their problems would pass, and to involve more and more people in the story would only prolong the agony.

The three women had heard of Jim and Coral Lorenzen of APRO, and this well-respected husband and wife team were called in to try to ease the fears of the story being released nationally. A promise was made to the three ladies that the regressive hypnosis procedure and its results would NOT be released to any of the UFO groups for publication until a time that they felt comfortable with it. An agreement was made! A date was set for the regressive hypnosis; March 7, 1976.

Regressive Hypnosis

Dr. Sprinkle, Black, Schnell, and others were all present for the initial session. All of those in attendance reaffirmed their good intentions of keeping the wraps on the story until the three women authorized its release. At this time, only one of three would consent to the hypnosis, Mrs. Stafford. A silence feel across the room as Dr. Sprinkle began his methodical, professional way of easing Stafford’s fear.

In a slow, cautious manner, Stafford began to recall the events of her night of terror. She was able to relive her interpretation of seeing what she thought was an airplane crashing. She was not able to go any further at this first session, as tears rolled down her cheeks and exhaustion set in. After the session, Dr. Sprinkle stated that Stafford was still in a posthypnotic state, and that she should be questioned very carefully and cautiously.

After the first hypnosis, Black continued to ask questions of Louise and Elaine. Mona moved away from the others to rest. Another interviewer began to show Stafford some drawings of aliens.

The word, “alien” had not been mentioned in the case before this time, out of respect to the three, and also to not coach in any way. Mona sat and silently looked at the pictures, and then in a dramatic fashion, she proclaimed, “This looks like the light I saw…It was shaped like that head!” pointing to a specific alien.

Again, Mona sat for a time, thinking about that night. Then she added to her previous statement, “Yes…I can see the face now, but it doesn’t seem solid. It comes and goes… I mean, fades and reappears like in a fog. Its eyes are far apart and at the bottom… the chin… is like that drawing.”

At this time, she had remembered all she could, but that was more than enough. A major breakthrough had occurred, the time lapse barrier had been breached. There was now no doubt that an abduction had taken place!

Dr. Sprinkle was notified the next day of the revelations from Mona, and was sent the alien picture she identified. Her statements were logged, and sent along also. There would be a lapse in the investigation at this point. Several months went by without probing any deeper into the hidden facts of the case.

Investigators did keep in constant touch with the three women, albeit, in a friendly fashion, careful not to push them too soon. The three were still locked in fear, their physical problems continued, and so did the weight loss. Drs. Sprinkle and Hynek, all the while, were still dealing with the problem of funds, and trying to find a solution to helping the three ladies. Also investigators were constantly being prodded for more information on the Stanford case, and as per their agreement, they refused to release any information.

While others involved in the case were still trying to find solutions for the financial shortfall, it would be investigator Black who would find a solution. After lengthy discussions with the National Enquirer, he had struck an agreement with the tabloid. The Enquirer would finance a return trip for Dr. Sprinkle to complete his regressive hypnosis, and lie-detector tests would be conducted.

If the results would verify an abduction, the Enquirer would have exclusive rights to publishing the story. Also, the three women would receive compensation. Black made the move because of concern to the health of the three women, and also to accumulate facts for the benefit of UFO research groups.

Hidden Facts

There was renewed optimism with the Enquirer deal, and there was hope that the hidden facts of that night would soon be uncovered. The next hypnosis session was scheduled for the Brown Motel in Liberty, Kentucky on June 23, 1976. Newly present at this meeting was well-known UFO investigator Bob Pratt of the Enquirer.

Though the reputation of the Enquirer left much to be desired, Pratt himself was regarded as an honest, sincere man. Pratt had earlier attempted to get details of the Stanford case, but was denied access because of the earlier agreement of a news blackout. The first order of business on this day would be the lie-detector testing.

A detective for the Lexington Police Department, James Young was hired to head the polygraph part of the session. Recognized as an expert in the field, Young began his testing of the three women, all done privately for each of the three.

Young was actually a great choice for the sessions, because he was a skeptic as far as UFO stories went. The tests themselves were lengthy, leaving no room for anything but a conclusive result, whether good or bad. After the tests were all completed, Young emerged from the room with an expression of utter amazement.

All three of the women had “breezed through” their tests without a hint of deception. To his credit, Young was man enough to admit that his earlier prejudices were completely erased after the testing of the three women. Next would come Dr. Sprinkle’s hypnotic session.

Sprinkle would first put Mrs. Smith under the evening of the lie-detector testing. The next day, all three would undergo regression, with each woman having two sessions. During the regressions, the faces of the three women showed the emotional turmoil they were enduring. The details of what occurred on that harrowing night came slowly… hauntingly… painfully.

Some of the most fearful moments of their abduction were displayed by painful body contortions and movements. All of the details revealed in this article were observed by an eyewitness of the entire procedure, whose credibility is beyond question.

Digging for the Truth

All of the women were taken aboard some type of craft, and subjected to physical examinations, sometimes harsh in nature, sometimes tortuous. There was not any sexual molestation during the abduction, but they were restrained in embarrassing, humiliating positions. Mrs. Smith would reveal that her exam took place on a table; Mrs. Thomas’ was inside of a capsule with an unusual looking noose-like device around her neck, which tightened painfully if she tried to speak.

Mrs. Stafford’s exam was in a chair-like device. All of the abductees recalled having their bodies scanned, and instruments used which exerted pressure on their limbs. Mrs. Thomas recalled a tube with a bullet-like tip on it, which probed her chest, and she also recalled a warm liquid being applied to her face and body. Mrs. Stafford also recalled the warm liquid.

The Humanoids

The sessions brought out other details as well. The characteristics of the alien forms themselves seemed to be vague, and often indescribable. All three related “shadowy figures,” which floated or glided by them. They also recalled the frightening “one eye” or “two eyes,” which also hovered over them.

Mrs. Stafford made an unusual statement in describing an eye exam; “I could see a light at the end of a tunnel, which looked like a volcano with a jagged edge.” At this point, she described great pain in her eyes, “… Just like they’ve been pulled out.” Mona recalled a single bright purple eye that radiated lightning-like rays.

Elaine also joined the other two in describing the strange events. She remembered “two-eyes” from a round head in a deep darkness. One eye, she said, was a “beautiful blue,” encircled by a blue membranous lid, like a turtle, and the other eye appeared dark.

Louise saw several different forms of beings during her ordeal, but she was so frightened that she closed her eyes and didn’t look at them. However, some months later, she described her vision of the humanoids in similar fashion to her two friends; adding that their hands looked like jagged wing tips. It would be Elaine who recalled the most about their captors, at one point stating, “There were several small figures about 4 feet tall.”

Conclusions

One fact that all three agreed on was that the humanoids communicated with them by telepathy. Not once was an entity mentioned to have any type of mouth. Some interesting facts about the craft itself were revealed by Mona Stafford, when asked to elaborate on her description of the tunnel or volcano.

She would now add to previous information that she was looking through a tunnel, with the room lit up brightly. She could see a square table with a helpless woman on it, surrounded by small figures clad in white. The small beings were closely examining the poor woman. In her own words, “I’m not sure if the person was Elaine, or Lou, or maybe even me!”

After all of the revelations of the three women, there remained no doubt that something very extraordinary happened on the night of Mona’s birthday. Several profound facts were accepted;

1) The three women had encountered a flying craft of unknown origin.

2) They had been abducted by beings unknown.

In all cases, no matter how believable, it always helps if other witnesses come forward. This case also had other observers of the UFO that night, independent of Stafford, Smith, and Thomas. These sightings occurred in Casey and Lincoln counties, Kentucky. Within a couple of hundred yards of the abduction, one couple watched from the window of their home a “large, luminous object,” which passed over the Stanford area.

This occurred about 11:30 P.M. The couple wanted to remain anonymous. Other observers reported also, describing a ring of “reddish orange” lights around a disc-shaped flying object. Two teenagers, out for a joy ride, stated that they chased a low-flying UFO after it had hovered over the Angel Manufacturing Plant in Stanford. They chased the strange object all the way to Danville, and there they reported the object to Police.

Another very significant report came from the owner of the property where the three women’s abduction took place. The farmer stated that “down the road” from his house, he witnessed an unusually low-flying object which shot a white beam of light to the ground.

Could this have been the precise time of the abduction itself? Although over 30 years have elapsed since the Stanford case, there has been not one negative comment on the details presented by Mona Stafford, Louise Smith, or Elaine Thomas. The Stanford, Kentucky abduction is still considered one of the best documented abduction cases in UFO history.

The Kentucky Abduction – APRO Bulletin, Vol. 25 No. 4 (Oct 1976)

The February first issue of the Kentucky Advocate, published at Danville, Kentucky, carried an article pertaining to UFO sightings in that general area, among which was the story told by Ms. Louise Smith, Ms. Mona Stafford and Mrs. Elaine Thomas about their drive home to Liberty from a late dinner at the Redwoods restaurant located five miles north of Stanford. The ladies said that at a point about one mile south of Stanford, they saw a huge disc-shaped object which was metallic gray with a white glowing dome. A row of red lights rotated around the middle and underneath were three or four red and yellow lights that burned steadily. A bluish beam of light issued from the bottom.

The newspaper did not carry a lot of detail but it was mentioned that when the women arrived home in Liberty, it was 1:25 a.m. Having left the restaurant at 11:15 p.m., they should have arrived home by midnight, indicating that there was a time loss of about one hour and 25 minutes.

The Kentucky Advocate article was forwarded to APRO by Field Investigator Bill Terry but meanwhile he put in a telephone call and asked if we felt the case was good enough for him to make the necessary 60 mile trip to talk to the ladies. After he had read the pertinent information, Mrs. Lorenzen said she thought it would be well worth the trip. A few days later he called back and told Headquarters he thought it was a case of abduction, and that the usual hypnosis procedures should be utilized.

A call was put in to Dr. R. Leo Sprinkle, APRO’s consultant in psychology and he was asked to travel to Liberty to interview the women and possibly use hypnotic procedures to relieve their anxiety and obtain any repressed information. Headquarters learned that his first free weekend for the trip would be the weekend of the 6th and 7th of March.

We will here relate the information obtained by our investigation and later explain why this report has not been published until now.

It is important to note that although Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Thomas had known each other for many years, and Mrs. Stafford had known Mrs. Thomas for some time, Mrs. Smith had only gotten acquainted with Mona a few weeks previously.

On the evening in question, Mrs. Smith left work at the usual time and went home. She is employed as an extension assistant for the Casey County Extension Office where her duties consist of visiting families in the county, counseling them in food perparation and preservation, nutrition and gardening. She fixed herself a sandwich and soup, which she ate, then got into her 1967 Chevrolet which she had just purchased that day and drove to a service station to get gas in preparation for the next day.

While at the service station, Mona Stafford, who was driving by, spotted Louise’s car, pulled her car into the station, whereupon Mrs. Smith asked her if she would come home with her and help her put the collar on a jacket she was making, as she was having trouble fitting it. The two ladies, each in her own car, drove to the Smith trailer home and set about the task. At about 8 p.m., Mrs. Thomas dropped by and the three lapsed into conversation about their favorite subject: art. Mrs. Stafford had planned to go to her sister’s home to have her hair done and at about 9 p.m. said she’d better call her sister because it was getting late and besides, it was her (Mona’s) birthday.

When Mrs. Smith learned about the birthday, she suggested that they al! go over to the Redwoods for a late dinner and a sort of birthday celebration. Also, there was a painting on the wall of the restaurant which she had wanted to sketch. The restaurant, incidentally, is the only restaurant open at that time of night in that area.

The three drove the 29 miles to the restaurant, had their dinner and then pulled out sketch pads and went to work. A man at the restaurant asked Mrs. Smith to sketch him, which she did, and then she realized it was getting late, so the three paid their checks and left. Mrs. Smith drove, Mona sat in the middle of the front seat, with Mrs. Thomas on her right by the passenger window.

After Mona spotted the object, which was descending from their right to the left, she asked Louise to speed up as she thought it was a plane about to crash and she wanted to help any survivors. Mrs. Smith saw it clearly, but Mrs. Thomas didn’t see it until it had stopped at treetop level at what they estimated to be one hundred yards ahead of them. All of the women said the object was huge, Louise describing it as “as big as a football field,” while Mrs. Stafford said it was at least as large as two houses.

Mrs. Smith said that the object rocked gently for perhaps two seconds, at which time she estimated its size, for it extended beyond the edges of the road and over the fields on both sides. Then the thing moved across the road to their left, circling behind and above some houses, and then apparently came back to the highway and swung in behind the car.

At a point in their journey about a quarter of a mile beyond the houses, the inside of the car was lit up with a bluish light which came from behind. Mrs. Smith said that at first she thought it was a state trooper approaching from behind, but realized almost immediately that it wasn’t. At this point Louise and Mona were near panic. The car began to pull to the left and Louise screamed at Mona to help her control it. The speedometer was registering 85 miles per hour and both Mona and Mrs. Thomas shouted at Mrs. Smith to slow down. Louise held her foot in the air to show them and said,”I don’t have my foot on the accelerator and I can’t stop it!” Mona reached over and grabbed the wheel and they fought the force together. Then, quite suddenly, the women experienced a burning sensation in their eyes and Louise later described an additional pain which seemed to “go right through the top of my head! It was almost unbearable!”

The next sensation was that of some force pulling the car backward. Also, they got the feeling that the car was going over a series of “speed bumps” (raised ridges in a road which are meant to keep the speed of automobiles to a minimum). Mrs. Thomas began urging Louise to stop so that she could get a good look at the object, but Mona and Louise were too terrified. Elaine had only had a glimpse of the object as it had circled to their left and around behind him and was later to comment about the object’s beauty. “I can’t describe it,” she said, “I’ve never seen red that beautiful. 1 wanted to get out and look at it.”

Then, the women said, they saw a strange, wide, lighted road stretching as far as they could see ahead of them. At the same moment Mona noted a red light come on on the instrument panel which indicated that the engine had stalled, despite the sensation that they were moving very fast.

At what seemed to be a split second later the women saw a street light ahead and realized that they were coming into HustonviHe, a full eight miles beyond where they had encountered the strange aircraft. They wondered among themselves how they had gotten there so fast, then became quiet while they proceeded on into Liberty.

When they arrived at Mrs. Smith’s trailer, they ail went inside. Mrs. Smith went into the bathroom, took off her glasses and splashed water on her face, whereupon her hands and face began to burn with searing pain. All three had a red mark on the backs of their necks, measuring about three inches long and one inch wide, with clearly defined edges, giving the appearance of a new burn before it blisters. Louise and Elaine’s marks were centrally located between the bases of their skulls and the top of the back, whereas Mona’s was located to the ieft, behind her ear. They could not account for the marks, which disappeared two days later. All three were experiencing burning and tearing of their eyes, but Mona Stafford had a much more severe case of conjunctiveitis (an inflammation of the conjunctiva membrane of the eyes).

Prior to washing her hands, Louise had taken off her watch and was startled to see that the hands of her watch were moving at an accelerated rate of speed, the minute hand moving at the speed of a second hand, and the hour hand was moving also. Upon experiencing the pain of the water on her hands and face she forgot about the phenomena of the watch and does not recall when it returned to normal or when she reset it.

Concluding that something was wrong, the three ladies went next door to the home of Mr. Lowell Lee, and told him what they had seen. He asked them to go into separate rooms and sketch the object and when finished, he found the resulting sketches to be almost identical.

Although all the women had trouble with their eyes, only Mona Stafford sought medical help, as her problem was so severe. The doctor who examined her found no explanation for the pain and tearing but gave her some eye drops which helped very little.

Bill Terry found out that all three of the women enjoy good reputations. Mrs. Smith, 44, is a tall, thin woman of 44 years who was widowed when a young woman and brought up her son and daughter by herself. She has two grandchildren and busies herself in her spare time with painting and sketching and gospel singing. She performs around Casey county with the Jubilee Echoes, consisting of herself, a 14-year-old boy singer and a bassist who is a police lieutenant in Danville. She is a lifelong member of the Baptist church and attends services regularly at the Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Liberty. Inquiries to such people as police personnel, her minister and employer, elicited only good comments. Several weeks after her experience she had lost 28Vi of her normal weight of 125Vi pounds.

Mona Stafford is 35, the former owner of an arts and crafts shop in Liberty and currently unumployed except for secretarial work which she does for her father, who owns a mobile trailer park. She was once married but has been divorced since 1970 and lives in a trailer home parked near her parents’ home. She is a devout Christian, a member of the Hilltop Church of Christ near Liberty. She also lost weight amounting to 17 pounds but at this writing had regained 7.

Elaine Thomas is a 48 year-old-housewife who has lived in Casey County, Kentucky all of her life. She and her husband Otis live several miles out of Liberty. They have a grown daughter and three grandchildren. Mrs. Thomas is also a lifelong churchgoer and is a member of the Contown Church of Christ.

The foregoing information indicated to APRO’s staff that the women were of good reputation, sincere, honest, and had no motivation to concoct a story so we proceeded with the investigation. It is at this juncture that we will explain the tardiness of the publication of this case. Bill Terry met Dr. Sprinkle upon his arrival and the two proceeded to Mrs. Smith’s home. They were met with a conglommeration of investigators from CUFOS and MUFON, who felt that they were “first” on the case and that APRO should not be allowed to enter. (They had preceded Mr. Terry to the Liberty site by only one day). Sprinkle, being a gentleman and a scholar did not want to intrude, and it was finally decided to call APRO Headquarters for an opinion. Mr. Lorenzen talked to Len Stringfield of CUFOS and MUFON who wanted to use the services of Dr. Sprinkle but did not want the report to be sent to APRO. Mrs. Lorenzen pointed out that she had written a book (Encounters with UFO Occupants) specifically so that the proceeds would furnish APRO with the wherewithal to conduct such investigations, and that not only was APRO’s money (air fare and expenses for Dr. Sprinkle) wasted, but Dr. Sprinkle’s time away from his family was wasted as well.

It was finally decided that Dr. Sprinkle would conduct the hypnotic sessions but that there would have to be a mutual agreement concerning the release of the story. Also, during meetings before Sprinkle’s arrival, some representative of MUFON or CUFOS had told Mrs. Smith (she doesn’t recall who) that the ladies should be careful about having anything to do with APRO because “they would call in the National Enquirer” and they would receive much unwanted publicity. Later, in a letter from Jerry Black, a MUFON investigator and, consequently, a CUFOS investigator, suggested that the ladies contact the National Enquirer about their experience, which was a surprise considering their reluctance to have anything to do with that paper if APRO was on the case.

THE A.P.R.O. BULLETIN

At any rate, it was for this reason, after the waste of several huhdred dollars, APRO was unable to complete the case. Then, after the National Enquirer contacted the ladies, Dr. Sprinkle, because of his participation in the “Blue Ribbon Panel” of National Enquirer experts, was called upon to go back to Liberty and regress the women.

His report of the weekend of March 6 and 7 is quite sketchy except for his characterization of the three women as reliable, sincere, etc., because Saturday was largely wasted in quibbling about who should have “control of the case.” Incidentally, the MUFON people wanted to make use of Sprinkle’s expertise, “as long as he was there.” But they admitted they neither had the consultants nor the funds to send in someone expert in hypnotic techniques to carry out the trance sessions.

On the 23rd of July, under the National Enquirer’s aegis, a polygraph test was conducted on the three ladies, and James C. Young reported, in each case, that it was his opinion, based upon the polygraph examinations, thai: the ladies believed they were telling the truth to the listed questions.

In his report, Mr. Young made the following pertinent observation: “Prior to the examination of these three persons it was determined by the polygraphist that these persons had been previously interviewed by Dr. R. Leo Sprinkle and the above-mentioned members of the Mutual UFO Network. How much or how little these previous interviews played a part upon what these persons now believe about this alleged encounter cannot be determined by the polygraphist. I cannot discount the fact that previous interviews with these persons could influence their personal beliefs as to whether or not this alleged encounter did or did not occur.”

Mr. Young makes a very good point, that being that interviewers showing sketches of UFO types to a witness before they make their own renderings of what they saw, is highly suggestive, as is the display of any drawings of occupants. This apparently was done by MUFON representatives prior to the polygraph test or the trance hypnosis carried out by Dr. Sprinkle on the next day, the 24th of July. APRO has a complete transcript of the trance sessions which have been examined by the staff. While Robert Pratt of the Enquirer, and Dr. Sprinkle, who has had extensive experience in this phase of UFO research, were careful not to lead the subjects, some very suggestive or leading questions were asked by Mr. Stringfield and Mr. Black of MUFON. It is just such errors that the skeptics will leap upon in attempts to discredit the investigative procedures or reliability of witness testimony in such cases.

We would like very much to quote in polygraph tests and the hypnotic trance sessions, but space will not allow us to do so. Therefore, we summarize Dr. Sprinkle’s findings from the hypnotic sessions.

“. . .Mrs. Smith suffered much as she relived the experience. The behaviors, e.g., weeping, moaning, tossing her head, shuddering, and shaking, etc., were evident to those of us who observed her. especially as she seemed to “relive” an experience of a fluid material covering her face. Her smile, and evident relief in “seeing the street light” at the end of her hour and one-half loss-of-time experience was dramatic and indicated that she was “safe” in the car, once again, and returning home with her friends.” Sprinkle then goes on to recount Louise’s claim that her pet parakeet, who, according to her claims and the claims of others who observed the bird, refused to have anything to do with her after the UFO experience. Others could approach the bird and it would not react wildly; however, whenever Louise came close to the bird, the bird would flutter and move away from her. The bird died within weeks after the UFO experience.

Mona Stafford. . .”responded well to the hypnotic suggestions and she was able to describe impressions which led her to believe that she had been taken out of the car, and that she was alone on a white table or bed. she saw a large “eye” which seemed to be observing her. She felt as if a bright white light was shining on her and that there was “power” or energy which transfixed her and held her to the table or bed. She experienced a variety of physiological reactions, including the impressions that her right arm was pinned or fastened; her left leg forced back under her, with pain to the ankle and foot; pressure on the fingers of the left hand, as if they were forced or squeezed in some way; a feeling of being examined by four or five short humanoids who sat around in “surgical masks” and “surgical garments” while observing her. At one point, she sensed that she was either experiencing out-of-the body travel, or else she was waiting outside of a large room in which she could view another person, probably a woman, lying on a white bed or observation table. She perceived a long tunnel, or a view of the sky, as if she had been transported to an area inside a large mountain or volcano. Although, she wept and moaned and experienced a great deal of fatigue as a result of the “reliving” of the experience, she felt better the next day; she expressed the belief to me that she now had a better understanding of what happened during the loss-of-time experience.

. . . “Mrs. Thomas had been rather quiet during the initial interview in March, 1976, although it was obvious that she is perceptive and aware of other people’s attitudes and feelings. Like the

others, she has lost weight, but she has also experienced some personality changes. She dresses a bit more colorfully now, and she is more willing to talk and to share her ideas with others. She, too, experienced a similar reaction during the hypnotic techniques: she apparently was responding well to suggestions to go deeper; when she “relived” the UFO experience, she experienced a great deal of emotional reaction. Her main impression was that she was taken away from her two friends, and that she was placed in a “chamber” with a window on the side. She seemed to recall figures which moved back and forth in front of the window of the chamber as if she were being observed. Her impression was that the observers were four-foot-tall humanoids, with dark eyes, and grey skin. One disturbing aspect of the experience was the memory that she had some kind of contraption or “covering” that was placed around her neck; whenever she tried to speak, or think, the contraption or “covering” was tightened, and she experienced a choking sensation during these moments. At first, Mrs. Thomas interpreted the memories as indication that she was being choked by hands or that she was being prevented from calling out to her friends; later, however, she came to the tentative conclusion that an experiment was being conducted, and the experiment was to learn more about her intellectual and emotional processes. She recalled a “bullet-shaped” object, about an inch and one haif in diameter, being placed on her left chest; she previously had experienced pain and a red spot at that location.

“. . .During the polygraph examination, and during the initial hypnotic sessions, each UFO witness was interviewed separately from the other witnesses. After the initial description of impressions, the women were invited to attend the additional hypnosis sessions, so thai each woman could observe the reaction of the other two women. During these sessions, there was much emotional reaction, which seemed to arise from two conditions: the compassion of the witnesses for their friend, who was “reliving” the experience and releasing emotional reactions to the experience; also, it seems as if the description by one witness would “trigger” a memory on the part of another witness, even if the experiences seemed to be “similar” or “different.”

“Certain similarities were observed: a feeling of anxiety on the part of each witness regarding a specific aspect of the experience. For Ms. Smith, it was the “wall” and the “gate” beyond which she was afraid to “move psychologically”; for

Ms. Stafford it was the “eye” which she observed and the impression that something evil or bad would be learned if she allowed the eye to “control” her; for Ms. Thomas, it was the “blackness” which seemed to be the feared condition or cause for anxiety. Each woman seemed to experience the impression that she had been taken out of the car and placed elsewhere without her friends and without verbal communication. For Ms. Smith, the lack of verbal communication was most distressing; although she had the feeling of “mental communication” that she would be returned after the “experiment.”

“Differences were noted in that each woman seemed to have a somewhat different kind of “examination,” and in a different “location.” Ms. Smith did not have a clear impression of the location, although she did recall a feeling of lying down and being examined; Ms. Stafford had the impression of being in a “volcano or mountainside,” with a room in which a bright Sight was shining on a white table with white clothed persons or humanoids sitting around and observing her; Mrs. Thomas recalled impressions of being in the dark chamber with grey light permitting a view of the humanoids who were apparently observing her.”

In his conclusive paragraphs Dr. Sprinkle reports:

“In my opinion, each woman is describing a “real” experience, and they are using their intelligence and perceptivity as accurately as possible in order to describe the impressions which they obtained during the hypnotic regressions session. Although there is uncertainty about their impressions, especially in regard to how each person could be transported out of the car and relocated in the car, the im pressions during the “loss of time” experience are similar to those of other UFO witnesses who apparently have experienced an abduction and examination during their UFO sighting.

“Although it is not possible to claim absolutely that a physical examination and abduction has taken place, I believe that the tentative hypothesis of abduction and examination is the best hypothesis to explain the apparent loss-of-time experience, the apparent physical and emotional reactions of the witnesses to the UFO sighting: the anxiety and the reactions of the witnesses to their experiences which have occurred after their UFO sighting. An interesting subsequent event is the concern of the women that they were “re-experiencing” the physical symptoms which had been experienced for several days following the January 1976 sightings. . . .When I called them on July 26th, the women said that they were re-experiencing some of the same kinds of symptoms, e.g., fatigue, listlessness, sensitivity to skin, burning feeling on the face and eyes, fluid discharge, etc.

“I tried to reassure the ladies that it is not an uncommon experience in hypnotic regression that persons — after “reliving” earlier emotional experiences — may re-experience some of the symptoms which accompany those emotional reactions.

“In my opinion, the UFO experiences of these women are a good example of the type of apparent abduction and examination which seems to be occurring to more UFO witnesses. I believe that the investigation could be continued with the hopes of obtaining further information about their experiences. However, the present evidence suggests to me that the women have cooperated sincerely and openly in describing their reactions to their UFO sighting and loss-of-time experience, and the polygraph examination and hypnotic regression sessions have been useful in uncovering their impressions of the UFO sighting and subsequent events.

“I believe the case is a good example of UFO experiences, because of the number and character of the witnesses. . . and because of the results of further investigation through polygraph examinations and hypnotic regression sessions.”

Dr. Sprinkle alludes to “subsequent events.” Conversations with Mrs. Smith since the regressive hypnotic sessions took place yielded two very interesting bits of information: Mrs. Stafford had been having trouble sleeping, would not stay home, and would go to her parents’ home or that of a friend, and curl up on the floor to sleep. She also has said repeatedly that she would not live “to see another birthday.” Hopefully this is only a fear and not a portent of things to come.

Also, in the fall of 1976, Mrs. Smith was overcome by an inexplicable urge to go back to the scene of the original sighting. On August 1 she did return to ihfi.site-, got out of her tar, and “heard” the words: “feel of your hands.”When she did so, she realized that three rings, which she habitually wore, a small gold ring, a pearl ring, and a gold ring with onyx and a small diamond, were gone. On the 26th of September, Mrs. Smith walked out onto the stoop of her trailer home and found the onyx and diamond ring lying there. For some inexplicable reason, she scooped up the ring, walked to the creek which runs by her home, and threw it into the water.

This, then, is the entire story of the Kentucky abduction. At last contact with Mrs. Lorenzen by telephone, Mrs. Smith intimated that she was beginning to have recall of the whole experience, and asked that Mrs. Lorenzen not divulge the details as she was writing a book about the experience. We appreciate Mrs. Smith’s desires, and will not comment on further information learned from her until such time as the book is published.

However, we laud these ladies for their bravery; theirs is a very interesting and hair-raising experience and we feel sympathy for them in that their greatest ordeal may well still lie ahead: the attacks of the skeptics. – APRO Bulletin, Vol. 25 No. 4 – October 1976

Childhood abduction?

The following experience was submitted directly to The Black Vault. The witness, with permission, wanted their email address added as well. If anyone has any comments or suggestions to what “Ed” may have experienced, please comment below.

I am not asking for an investigation of any kind, nor would I want one, but need to tell someone about what happened. I was about 13 years old living in upstate NY around 1977-78. I lived in a two story home, but we only rented the downstairs and another family rented the upstairs. I was awoke one night about 11pm. I had always been afraid of the dark even at that age. I never knew why, but if what happened that night had happened before, it would be explainable. I remember I got out of bed, I don’t remember how I got to the other side of the house as I don’t remember walking through the house. I went out the back door of our downstairs kitchen and there was an enclosed staircase that led from the ground floor up to the kitchen of the second floor.

Normally I would not have entered it at night, especially that staircase, it always scared me. I entered and climbed to the second story landing, but before I could enter the kitchen of the upstairs, my attention was drawn to the window of the second story landing. The window was open as it was mid summer and I looked out and up and there was a large disk that at that age appeared very close, but was probably several hundred yards above the house. A blue light appeared from the very center of the disk and I was suddenly floating out the window and up towards the craft. I don’t remember feeling scared or anything, other than from the height, but not from the fact I was being pulled into a strange craft in the middle of the night.

I don’t remember anything else until I was floating through the second story widow on the front side of the house. I came through the window and floated down the stairway that led to the front porch of the house. It wasn’t until just now writing this that I remember there were 2-3 small beings at the bottom of the stairs. I don’t remember anything else until awaking again in the morning. I don’t recall any more “leaving” incidents for the rest of the time I lived there, but the “return” sequence, through the second story window and down the stairs, always floating, was a regular thing for about 2 years. I tried to tell a teacher about it at school, but he just played it off and told me it was just a bad dream.

I guess after awhile, I convinced myself that he must be right, there wasn’t much talk in our small town about abductions so I didn’t know who else to contact. I didn’t get along well with my mom or sisters and was embarrassed to bring it up to my brother. It wasn’t until years later when I first started using air travel that I found there was something in my lower right leg that would set off the metal detectors. That continued until about 2 years ago and suddenly stopped. I don’t know if it is still there and just doesn’t trigger it anymore, if they lowered the sensitivity, or if it somehow just disappeared. All I know is that the last time I went to the local courthouse, I no longer set off the detector there.

I don’t know of any other people sighting anything in my hometown until years later, my brother-in-law said he had seen one once while driving, but I don’t recall what year he said, possibly about 81-83. I have searched for any sightings around my time period but no luck. Nothing until the mass sighting in the 80’s. Like I said, not looking for any type of investigation, but if you know of any sightings around Dover Plains, NY around my time frame, I would really like to know about it.

Man Recalls Incident of “Missing Time” as a Young Boy

Witness Has Consented to Use of His Full Name in This Report

Description: Dan Ragan recalls going to bed when he was five years old and instantly seeing the sun come up. He said that his mother tucked him into bed at 10 PM and in an instant the sun came up and it was daylight. He said that he never even closed his eyes. He went into the bedroom to see his mother at the time (8 AM the next morning) and she was sound asleep.

He was not ill and was not taking any medication. He recalls nothing of the missing time and his mother or father did not experience anything unusual. Both parents and himself were in the house at the time of the incident. He has discussed this experience with his wife over the years and upon seeing the Peter Jennings ABC Special “Seeing is Believing” made him decide to report the experience.

Investigator’s Notes: I have spoken at length with Dan and his wife about his experience.

Dan says that he never forgot this experience and that he discussed it over the years with his parents and his wife. He has had no problems as the result of this experience, but still to this day does not know what happened. My assessment of the interview is that Dan is credible and firmly believes that this happened to him. Could Dan have been abducted? What caused the missing time?

Why did the sun rise immediately after his mother turned the lights off in his room? (Ten hours went by in a split second.) I have checked the National UFO Reporting Center for sightings in March of 1964. Only two sightings were reported and neither were near where Dan had his experience. I have also checked the Air Force Project Bluebook files for sightings in this area in March of 1964. No sightings were reported anywhere in Illinois in March of 1964.

After 40 Years Woman Vividly Recalls Terrifying UFO Encounter

Description: The witness is a middle aged woman who recalls a terrifying ordeal that happened nearly 40 years ago. She made her report via telephone. She recalls waking up in the middle of the night and feeling thirsty.

She went downstairs to get a drink of water. At the time her brother and mother were asleep in the house. She noticed a bright light shining through the curtains in the living room. She at first thought that a fire may be occurring. She peered through the curtains and saw a large flaming object hovering over the trees in her front yard. She immediately felt terrified and had “an electrical sensation” over her body. (She previously felt this sensation when a lightning strike hit a tree close to her house.)

No lightning was present on the night of the sighting. She also smelled a strong “ozone” odor. She only watched the object for about 20 seconds and ran upstairs quite terrified. (At the time she was about 16 years old.) She tried to waken her mother, but could not. (This is characteristic of UFO encounters where seemingly some people cannot be awakened.) She did not sleep the rest of the night and the next morning she saw her family at breakfast.

None of her family members knew that anything happened. (She was surprised by their reaction.) She was afraid to investigate the area where the object had been sighted. She was not aware that anyone else had the same sighting. (This is not unusual considering that the sighting occurred in the middle of the night in a rural area.) The witness began having dreams (flash-backs) of encountering large grey creatures that would walk through the walls. These dreams occurred early on and were very terrifying.

Investigator’s Notes: I have had two interviews with this witness. I am impressed with her sincerity and the fact that she recalls the above encounter in great detail after 40 years. She has only shared her experience with a few close friends and family members for fear of ridicule. This case occurred around the time of the famous Michigan sightings that Project Bluebook labeled as “swamp gas.”

Dr J. Allen Hynek later wrote that the “swamp gas” explanation was made to quiet the press. I believe the witness’s account of her sighting. I am not sure what happened beyond the actual sighting. (I don’t know if she really encountered aliens.)

The electrical disturbances and ozone odor suggest that she was in the vicinity of a magnetic or strong electric field and that ionization was occurring. Little additional investigation can be performed unless more witnesses step forward with a recollection of the same event.

Description (In Witness’s Own Words): In May of 1972, at 7 PM in the city of Cotton Valley Louisiana, 2 of my children and I were at home and we were sitting my uncle’s little dog. At 7 PM each evening, we would let the dog out and watch him. We always liked to be in before dark for there were wild animals “Cats” around. My children and I went out to watch the dog when I heard one of my children yell look Mom, Lights!!!! I looked to where they were pointing and it was to the the east and there were the brightest lights I think I have ever seen.

They were pulsating and there were four colors which blinked on and off. They were red, blue, green and almost golden yellow and I noticed they changed colors as they blinked and I remember we were watching this round shaped object and then it was directly over us and I remember looking up and feeling the heat.

I remember thinking a wheel within a wheel! I looked up into something I cannot explain! I remember thinking how beautiful! How peaceful! I remember my children were standing one on each side of me and I hugging them. Then! It was like being awakened! I told my children to come on and go inside. I remember thinking it sure did get dark quick! When we got back inside the house I looked at the clock and it was 9 PM!!! I know we went out at 7 PM and what happened to the 2 hours? It was 9 PM!!!

It haunts me until this day where did the 2 hours go? What happened to us within that 2 hours we don’t remember? What was this round object that appeared to be a wheel inside a wheel? Where did it come from? Why can’t we remember what happened within the 2 hours? Until this day we do not talk of this incident. It is as if we aren’t supposed to. I cannot explain this. At times I relive it. I am 64 years old now and I suppose this is the strangest thing that has ever happened to me.

Investigator’s Notes: The witness is accurately recounting a frightening incident and an experience of missing time. Other than the exact date the witness seems to recall considerable details of her experience. It would be good to talk to the witness’s children about the incident. Any updates will be posted.

Description (In Witness’s Own Words): The emotional experience of my abduction never stops. We were taken onboard & released the morning after. I did report the abduction to the authorities & what a mistake that was. I did go to a local hospital for a checkup as my nose was bleeding and the whites of my eyes were deep orange and my lungs ached when breathing.

I was very concerned about all of this & then when the nurse read my height measurement as being 5’09”, I told her that she was incorrect as I am over 5’10” & she rechecked the scale & told me again 5’09”. When my brother & I arrived home & our mom had seen us, first she wanted to know were we both had been & then she yelled at us saying “What happened??? You both have shrunk what is wrong with your eyes???.

At this point I ran to the bathroom mirror and saw that I did not look right. I showed the authorities my 18th birthday photo taken about two weeks before our abduction & told them to examine my high school medical records for my physical size & please make out the comparison between then and how I am now (at the time) and I asked them how many 18 year olds lose an inch overnight? I may not recall exactly everything today of the experience, however I still retain enough memory about it.

Second Report (In Witness’s Own Words): Thanks for writing. I forwarded a copy of your letter to my brother S. (name abbreviated to protect anonymity of witness). I will do my best to recall everything. First of all, we were all in our teen years during this experience. We had seen unconventional flying objects before 1973, but this one really got our attention.The location can be viewed at: http://www.shaker.lib.me.us/ .

Just north passed area #4 is where we were abducted at the intersection of route #26 & Outlet road & Shaker Village road which was later renamed Quarry road.We at first had been followed by a UFO along side the driver’s side for several miles towards Middle Range pond & took a sharp left at this point and we proceeded to head towards Oxford, Me.We turned around by the Oxford Plains Speedway & headed back the same way we had came.

The extra strange stuff began when we reached the Apple orchard by the intersections I have already afore mentioned.We noticed that all traffic had ceased on this usually busy & well travelled road and it the sun had gone down awfully fast & now the stars appeared & were HUGE as if I could reach out to them. We noticed the usual cricket sounds for this area were missing and I could feel & hear my heart beating in my ears as it seemed like we were inside a vacuumed bottle, all we could hear is us talking to each other & all the usual outside noises were silenced. We saw the UFO all of a sudden hovering by a tree that to this day still is the only tree seated just in front of the apple orchard.This UFO was big & round & lit up orange & totally quiet & we all just stared at it for what we thought at the time was just about one hour. On our way back home it became daylight way too soon & I asked my friend & owner & driver of the 1967 Tan Chevy Nova we all road in to head towards the Auburn, Me police department as I wanted to inform the police of this event. We were about to encounter more strange stuff in which much later on had proved to by very significant.

I will close my letter to you at this time & will continue to write on this experience each night as I can as the day time is very busy for me. So long for now.

Investigator’s Notes: 1973 was a “wave year” for close encounters and UFO reports. Perhaps this case is another one of the many in that time period. The experience must have been traumatic for the witness given that he vividly remembers details of the experience.

The witness is trying to get in touch with his brother who also experienced the abduction. Any updates to this case will be posted.

Man Recalls Being Taken Aboard Craft

Description (In Witness’s Own Words): I had slight view of the crafts in 1973 as I was only 3 years old. I do remember that my eyes were partially shut. I think I pretended to sleep but could still see the whole abduction(s?) through my partially closed eyes. The craft was no more than 10-20 feet in diameter and saucer shaped and sitting in my neighbor’s driveway.

Even at 3 years old I can remember that after entering the craft all goes blank. I do remember the beings distinctly. They were classic examples of what are now known as the greys. (They had big heads, big slanty-eyes, long arms, and were 3 to 4 feet tall at most.

Investigator’s Notes: The witness was only 3 years old when this alleged incident happened. This makes the experience much more likely to be a recounting of a dream or other early childhood experience.

Description (In Witness’s Own Words): iI just was sitting in my pickup watching my brother and his girlfriend driving over hill when I turned to look over my left shoulder. I saw a big orange ball spiraling through the air coming toward me.

The next thing I know I was looking ahead and my brother’s headlights were coming over the hill and I turned to look over my left shoulder and the orange light was changing colors as it sat on the ground. When it turned white it shot straight up. It seemed only a minute since my brother had left but it was over two hours and I don’t remember a thing.

I have never reported this until now as I still wonder what happened to me that night.

Investigator’s Notes: The witness is describing a close encounter. However, the report is confusing in that it is unclear how the experience transpired. It sounds as if his brother left his location and then returned two hours later, but this is not known.

He also says that the object landed, but doesn’t mention any details about a landing. I will be writing the witness to obtain more information. Any updates will be posted.

Description (In Witness’s Own Words): In September 1974, I applied for emergency leave to drive to Alabama to bring my wife and older son home to California. The evening I left San Diego, I drove east past El Cajon and was following what seemed like the quickest path on State Highway 10, now I-10. I arrived in Phoenix, Arizona just before midnight and proceeded to fuel my car. Once that was done, I again headed East on highway 10.

Approximately 5 miles after getting on the highway, I noticed a bright light positioned at about the 3 “o” clock position above the horizon, north and east of my position. I left Phoenix right at 12 am in the morning.

By now from my previous event, I am pretty spooked by lights in the sky of any kind. I kept trying to focus on my driving, but found myself somewhat pre-occupied with this strange light. It kind of looked like an automobile with it’s head lights on high beam positioned on a small mesa, about 3 miles from my position. It’s like I just blinked my eyes, and out of the corner of my eye I see what appears to be a city limit sign going by. I missed the name, but felt somewhat disoriented, continued to the next off ramp.

There is the name Gila Bend. At this point I pulled my car over to side of the road, wondering what is going on. I look at my watch and it is now a little after 5:30 am in the morning, I am in Gila Bend, Arizona and my last conscious thought is of the light, at 12:10 am outside Phoenix, Arizona.

I couldn’t believe I had driven over 200 miles and not remembered having done so. I know you’ve heard of this stuff before, really have you heard this one. I check my gas gauge and it read full. Not believing what I was seeing, I drove to the nearest gas station and proceeded to fill the tank. It took less than 1/2 of one gallon to fill the tank. I have never before or since been able to equal gas mileage like that, although I wish I could.

End of Story – Not Quite To this day, I have had NO CONSCIOUS MEMORIES of the event.

Investigator’s Notes: This is the second sighting that I have received from this witness. This experience is intriguing given that the witness lost 5 hours of time after sighting the light and then did not use any gas in the nearly 200 mile trip.

What really happened? I plan to conduct some more interviews with this witness. He is still shaken from this and other experiences that he says that he has had.

Man Loses 45 Minutes of Time & Experiences Recurring Nightmares

Description (In Witness’s Own Words): I have only shared my story with three other people in 24 years . It was two in the morning in El Paso, Texas and I was making a 45 minute drive from my girlfriend’s house . All I remember is getting on the freeway, then off. The 45 minutes was gone with no recollection.

I was sober and have never been into drugs. Immediately after this, I began to have trouble sleeping, with nightmares that have slowly escalated over the years. I developed an undiagnosed rheumatic disorder and a small circular hole in my finger that recurred off and on stinging painfully. Eventually I pulled a polyp out of my finger. After this the hole healed.

Anything concerning aliens, space, or aliens intrigues me in a haunting, nostalgic way. (I am drawn to it.) Twice I am sure that I saw an extraterrestrial vehicle. (I have no proof of this.) I feel almost like I was being watched. I am currently on anxiety medication. I have been reluctant to be hypnotized and do a regression.

Investigator’s Notes: This witness clearly feels that he has been affected by an experience that occurred 24 years ago. Given that he drove home at 2 am and doesn’t remember 45 minutes on the freeway is interesting.

One could say that he was tired and not aware of the passing time during his drive home. I am still in touch with the witness and would like to find the date of his experience.

This is one of the cases that are open to speculation. Hypnosis or an in-depth interview might reveal more details.

Man Says He Was Abducted By Reptilian Beings

Description (In Witness’s Own Words): This is the incident that happened in 1982. (By the way I believe there were other abductions besides the 1973 and 1982 ones.) I have difficulty bringing up the full memories of the incidents and therefore will not attempt to report them to anyone at this time. The beings themselves were like “small green beings” in tight fitting space suits or diving suits.

No bigger than 2-3 feet. The reptilians (for lack of a better word), were very tall 7-8 feet tall. As for the ships, the one big “mother ship” for lack of a better term – was very big – cone shaped, like an ice cream cone, slowly moved around it’s axis and had multi-colored lights on it — very brilliant.

My aunt exclaimed, “What in God’s name is that?” as the small beings surrounded her and the field. The wave of reptilians started shortly after the influx of these small green beings which looked like “men” to me.

These beings were not the greys but some other type of species I believe. The saucer shaped vehicles in the field were 10-20 feet in diameter at most and hovered above the field. Some of them were stationary on their “landing gear” I would suppose.

Investigator’s Notes: I haven’t spoken with this witness, but his story is somewhat hard to follow.

He is describing very similar experiences that other abductees have recounted. The veracity of this story rests with the credibility of the witness.

Retired Police Officer Recalls Night of “Strange Happenings”

Description: The witness reported that he was visiting Houston, Missouri to look for a home. (At the time he was a police officer in Chicago, IL. He was planning to retire in a few years to a new location.) He said that his realtor put him up in a house close to the realtor’s home. In the middle of the night the witness was awakened by a sound very similar to the sound heard in the movie “Close Encounters of the Third Kind.”

He was quite surprised by this. At the time the realtor’s two dogs began barking wildly. Suddenly the dogs stopped barking and the witness went back to sleep. The next morning he felt a sore spot on his left calf muscle. He looked down and found a sore. He pulled out some “brass- like or copper-like” material from his calf. He had no idea how the metal got there. He looked at the metal through a magnifying glass and wasn’t able to figure what it was or how it got into his leg.

He said that the spot on his calf is still there after nearly 15 years. He also stated that the spot sometimes itches.

Investigator’s Notes: This is a unusual case in that the witness claims to have heard a sound like the sound in the movie “Close Encounters of Third Kind.” The witness has credibility given that he was a police officer for 30 years in Chicago.

The witness did not see anything, but he thought that the dogs were reacting to something. The metal that he pulled out his leg the next morning is somewhat similar to the “implants” described by alleged alien abductees. It is difficult to say what happened on this night.

Like most close encounters and abductions physical evidence is lacking. (The witness didn’t keep the metal that he extracted from his leg.)

Hunter Experiences Strange Lights and Missing Time – Florida

Description (In Witness’s Own Words): I’ve kept this story to myself for years now and only feel safe in telling this to you. I had gone to the woods to go hunting by myself that morning and after parking my truck, I then walked into the woods to where I had my tree stand placed. I got up into my stand about 45 minutes before sun up.

I couldn’t see my hand in front of my face that morning as there was no moon that night. I had only been in my stand about 15 minutes when out in front of me I suddenly saw three white lights flickering from one side to another, the lights appeared to be very small. I thought to myself what the heck is this? I remember watching the lights for what I remember to be about a couple of minutes and then the next thing I knew the sun was up and I was wondering what the heck happened?

Shortly after this experience in the woods I started having dreams at night where I felt something was trying to take me out of my body. Four years after this experience, I moved to another home and shortly thereafter my son got me a puppy for my birthday.

When the dog was about six months old we let him stay out one night and when the next morning came and we went out side with him, he would stop and look up into the sky. I don’t know what happened out there in the woods that morning but something did and I’ve not been the same since. My health has gone down hill ever since.

Additional Interview With Witness: In this interview the witness said that he experienced about 2 hours of lost time after the original sighting of the lights. He said that the lights behaved intelligently, were white, small, round, and moved laterally. In about two weeks after the experience the witness began experiencing double vision. The double vision eventually cleared up.

The witness has several physical problems today, but doesn’t think that they were related to his experience in 1993. I was most curious in why the witness would begin hunting the extreme dark. He related that hunters like to be established in a spot in order to surprise animals. (He was hunting deer.)

Investigator’s Notes: The witness has been outstanding in answering all of my questions regarding this case. Given that the alleged encounter happened over 10 years ago and that the witness was alone, it will be difficult to find out any more details. The case sounds like the “typical encounter” and missing time scenario experienced by people who have had an abduction experience.

This sighting definitely affected the witness’s life. He developed double vision and began experiencing nightmares right after the experience. He seems to recall many details of the sighting with the exception of the exact date.

Bottom Line/Conclusion: This case falls under the paranormal experience category. The witness’s experience is similar to other alleged UFO abduction cases, although in this case no spaceship was sighted. For reason no association can be made with the UFO phenomenon, but the experience is most unusual.

Man Says He Encountered Creatures in a Large Ship – Lost 9 Hours Time

Description: Witness stated that he was driving eastbound on Highway 50 (see map above.) He noticed four lights to his left (towards Virginia City and Reno.)

The lights began getting bigger and approached his vehicle. In the next minute or two he was staring at a large craft with bright windows. (See drawing above of the craft.) He saw several beings in the craft. (See drawing above of one of the beings.)

The next thing that he remembers is driving eastbound into Dayton and it is 8 am.

(The distance traveled was only a few miles – see map above.) He lost about 9 hours of time. He remembers very little in this 9 hour time period. )

Investigator’s Notes: The witness said that he was dramatically affected by this encounter. If his account is true, it would be easy to accept this statement. The witness made several drawings of the craft and several of the beings that he saw with the craft.

He stated his experience in considerable detail. I doubt if anyone would go to this trouble just to tell a hoax. The witness has asked for complete anonymity and has not requested any compensation.

I think that the witness may be truthful, but like most encounters of this type the validity of the case lies solely with the statements of one witness.

Description: This report is suspect because the witness supplied virtually no details. He said that a saw a big UFO in the mountains taking a deer. It appears that the man does not write very good English so this could be part of the reason for his brief report.

Investigator’s Notes: I cannot reach the witness via email as he provided a bad or expired email address. I left a message on his voice-mail, but have not yet received a response. Without more information this sighting cannot be investigated. Given the information provided below I consider this case to be hoax.

Addition Information Provided by a Local Resident in Lawdale, California: RE: Lawndale, CA UFO Abducting deer. Lawndale is a suburb of Los Angeles and has no mountains and is mainly residential and freeway and wall to wall shops and malls. Deer are never seen in Lawndale. Lawdale is an urban area. I live 2 miles from Lawndale/Hawthorne.

Description (In Witness’s Own Words): Me and my friend saw what we thought was a full moon with a thick dense ring of smoke around the moon, as we watched the ring was pulsing and getting bigger it was like something was in it. We thought it was getting bigger than realized it was coming down we were engulfed in this fog that seemed to be alive then I snapped out of this daze starring back at the moon this all lasted about 5 to 10 min. I thought that my friend told me the time and I was blown away! 2 and a half hours were gone. Please email me of what we witnessed please.

Second Witness Report (In Response to My Questions): Hi, thanks for replying it was the 2nd week of October, 2004. The sky was clear with a 5 to 10mph breeze. Yes, my best friend also witnessed it. I reported it to 3 or 4 different sites on the Internet but got no response. You are the first to respond. It happened in town and the weird thing is my friend said when he walked out side his fence to garage the whole thing disappeared, but when he came back inside the fence it was there again. His girl friend was awaken by hearing us screaming and yelling, which I don’t remember us doing then she said she just went back to sleep. Normally she would have been right up. After I snapped out of this daze I went right inside my buddy said he fell down disoriented. I felt motion sick and had a headache for about 3 weeks.We talked about getting hypnotized but were chicken I guess. I hope this helps please let me know if any thing like this has ever been sighted. Thank you it means a lot.

Investigator’s Notes: The witness has been very responsive to my inquiries. He asked me about hypnosis. Given that fact I am doubtful that this case is a hoax. It certainly is a strange case and involves missing time as well as temporary physical effects. I have no explanation for what the witnesses encountered.
