A report of a UFO was received from Mr. Dale F. Spaur, Badge #15, Portage County Sheriff’s Office, Ravenna, Ohio., 17 Apr 66. Sighting between 0300 and 0600 hours. “First sighted in Ravenna, Ohio along Routes 224 – 44, followed object to Conway, Pa., for about 80 miles. Object seemed to be taking off from ground, oblong shaped, with antenna projecting from it. There were no colored lights only a very bright silvery radiance. Object flying about 500 feet over vehicle. It would slow down in speed and then go very fast. The glow from object was so bright it blinded driver of vehicle. Object was flying due east. This has witnessed by people along the route between Ravenna, Ohio and Conway, Pa. There were three (3) men from sheriff’s office and two (2) patrol cars that followed object along this route.”

Witness Testimony

I was driving west in Avon Ohio. Between 10:00pm and 12:00am on a night on a late summer night. The year was 2018. The info is not exact simply because at the time I did not want to risk men in Black encounters for nothing so I forgot when and what time. At the moment I was looking at the moon while driving. Then a white light seemed to have come from behind the left side of the moon. It resembled a star. It came from about it’s ten o’clock. If I remember correctly it seemed to sling shot and move east. After I parked in the Walmart parking lot it seemed to be going obviously east and then it turned to move South. When it turned south it had red light. The lights I remember where white and also red but I could only see a light . Not any kind of shape the craft was in. It was flying high and slow. To high to be a helicopter such as life flight . To odd to be airlines. Not near a army base. to travel to this parking lot while traveling west on detroit you have to turn right onto a street that may be state route 83 to go north. then you turn right onto the street that should be Chester. The airspace is the western Cleveland suburbs. No authorities where called and I didn’t have a bad feeling. It seemed to be ten minutes . it’s 11:11 as I write this which to some means synchronicity. Private researchers are welcomed to this vague info. However no pics or videos where taken so at best this is just a story between close friends. There for I thought I may disclose do to lack of interest from big government so not sure why a true man in Black would have interest. My personal name was changed but questions can be sent to the email address. I rather not answer questions any other way unless necessary . In the end my word is my bond. 

The Analysis

First order was to establish via Google maps the direction and location of the sighting to eliminate mundane causes. The witness saw the object come from behind the moon. On August 1st 2018 the moon was in its waning gibbous phase, quite bright. The distance to the lunar body is significant and would not make much logical sense to see the object come from behind it, and then suddenly be in the atmosphere of the planet. It’s more likely that the moon light obscured the object until it passed into the background of dark space. The object had red and white lights. Red lights are indicative of a wing light on the left side of most aircraft. This would make sense if the object were moving to the east. White lights are typically runway lights or anti-collision lights. The right wing is usually green lights, but the witness does not state seeing green. Possibly because the object was facing away from the viewer. To the east of the Walmart where the witness paused to see the object is the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE). On the night in question there would have been 10-20 incoming flights.

Conclusion

In the screenshot from Google maps I have marked the pertinent details. The most likely explanation is that the witness saw an airplane preparing to land at the nearby airport. Without more substantial information such as video or still images it is impossible to ascertain what the witness saw.

Using just the video evidence and no further contact with the witness since initial report submission, I will attempt to identify what the witnesses observed based on the following facts along with the witness statement.

The footage provided makes it difficult to ascertain direction, height, speed or reference for scale. 

My first approach was to scan the metadata contained within the video, all seems ok and intact.

The video shows a cluster of white and red lights with a flashing sequence. In my opinion they closely resemble aircraft lights and if you listen carefully you can hear some aircraft engine noise. The light formation and flashing sequence indicate landing / takeoff lights.

Google Maps was used to locate the witness sighting position, and to search the local area for airports.

Stellarium was used for the night sky date of 08/02/2018 5:00 AM to check for celestial objects. Direction of sighting unknown, therefore N,E,S,W images are included. See images below.

Flight Radar historical data could be used in this case, however the direction of the sighting is unknown.

Conclusion

Based on the witness description and video evidence, I am inclined to say this is likely an aircraft either in approach to land or climbing after takeoff from one of the airports around Springfield, Ohio.

On August 29-30, 2014 two men were on a fishing/camping trip at an Ohio state park (Salt Fork, Cambridge, Ohio). The older man (43) was accompanied by a young man (19) who was a friend of his daughter. The older man is a construction worker who owns his own business. They were camped by the lake shore with chairs about two feet from the water, and would routinely stoke the fire every hour. There was no one else in the vicinity. Late in the evening the two men saw a light low in the sky. It moved back and forth to tree top level. About 1:30 a.m. they heard a shrill ‘woman-sounding” voice. It should be noted that many stories of ‘high strangeness’ abound (bigfoot, hauntings, UFOs) at Salt Fork.1 There is a cave in the park with a waterfall where a girl supposedly died. The men became increasing nervous. After 1:30 a.m. the older man’s wife and daughter could not contact them. The men have no recollection of what happened for three hours. They became ‘aware’ at 5:19 a.m. in the morning. The fire was out. The men grabbed their belongings and changed clothes. As the older man changed clothes he noticed his shirt was inside out! It should be noted that no alcohol was in their cooler, only water.

There are two objectives of this analysis. The first is to identify any stains and spots left on various pieces of clothing for anomalies which may be related to the abduction. The second is to compare these results to two analyses, one done on the dress Betty Hill wore during her abduction and the other done on an experiencer’s tee shirt worn during an abduction in Winnipeg, Canada.

“Okay I’m new to any personal ET experiences, I just sort-of encountered what I think to be ET.

So…. I have 6 new photos on my phone, all of which are semi-similar. All were taken in my back yard and they have, headlights from mine and my husband’s vehicle, the neighbors busted up fence, the street lights in the distance, and part of our sidewalk and yard. Nothing too odd right? You’d think so….at first.

Now I’ll explain why it is odd. My husband works third shift so we always leave at least ten minutes before he has to be at work (give or take a minute or two) so basically around 11:50, 11:48, or 11:52. When I discovered these pictures initially I was already startled considering they weren’t the last photos I had taken, and even more so to discover that they were taken at 11:54…..on this day we left a bit later than usual so it was around 11:56 I remember specifically looking at the clock when we arrived at my husbands work because we were mid conversation and I didn’t want to take up too much time so that he didnt clock in late, the clock read 11:58. His work is literally 3 minutes from our home IF you get stopped by the one light that is between there and our home. I know this because I have timed it. But to save everyone any argument you don’t even have to consider the time. The second thing we found odd was that in the photo you can clearly see headlights, we don’t start the vehicle until we’re both in it and I was the one driving. With that being said if I had turned on the vehicle how could there have been headlights in the photo? The third thing that I had found EXTREMELY odd is that my phone

A.) Has a fingerprint and pattern lock.

B.) Has a wallet type phone case on it (the ones where they flip open and inconveniently cover your camera lens.)

C. I have not clicked the (do not show this again) box that appears every time I open my camera, so it would had to of been bypassed in order for the camera to even work.

D.) The front facing camera would had to of been clicked if that’s what took the photos.

E.) There were some CONSECUTIVE photos taken, which would mean that a button (any that cause the phone to take a photo) would had to of been held down in order for this to happen.

Either way no matter what anyone has to say on the matter I DID NOT INTENTIONALLY NOR ACCIDENTALLY TAKE THESE PHOTOS. Since I found it very odd that this happened I began examining the photos and found things I THINK to be ET or other dimensional. If ANYONE could help me to figure out what type of message I’m being given, or what something/someone is trying to say id greatly appreciate it thanks in advance.

Yes the pictures are blurry some moreso than others, but again I did not take these photos, I haven’t not sent you any photos that have been edited or “fixed” and I also have two more than I was able to upload.”

The witness reported that while out observing and photographing the moon and several planets on November 4, 2016 at her home at approximately 7:20 pm, she noticed 2 bright red objects coming from the west in the southern sky.  Both objects were unwavering and flew in a controlled fashion while staying in a vertical position. The diameter of the objects appeared to be slightly larger than an aspirin held at arm’s length. Distance was hard to judge since the event to place with the sky as a backdrop. Due to the size of the objects, she assumed they were close.  Soon after, the witness noticed a large area of the sky in the same direction light up with multiple “flashing and blinking” lights, lasting several minutes. Part of the event captured on camera.

The event took place in Lewis Center, Ohio, approximately 20 miles north of Columbus and 12 miles from Port Columbus. Population 26,130, elevation 864’. The area in the direction of the sighting is mostly rural with small hills.

The temperature at the time was 51 degrees fahrenheit, the skies were clear, and the wind was north at 4 mph.

The website Stellarium showed the Moon, Venus, Mars, and Saturn all bright and visible in the south-southwestern sky. No satellites were visible.

The report was received over a year after the event took place. Searches were done by myself for correlating cases and other related reports that may have been shared, with nothing found. The witness is well educated, and as you will see in the following detailed report submitted by her, did an in-depth investigation herself before reporting it. She is an amateur astronomer and is well familiar with aircraft and their characteristics.

It is advised to watch the videos with lights off for more detail.

Witness Testimony

The following was submitted to TBV Investigations from the witness. It is published here unedited:

“The sighting, November 4, 2016, took place at approximately 7:22-7:26 pm EST to the south of my house. It began while I was standing in my back yard photographing astronomical objects. Thus, it was not some mistaken astronomical object as is often used to explain UFOs, because when it happened I was photographing Venus, Mars, Saturn, and the Moon and I labeled them on some of the photographs. I am an amateur astronomer, have worked professionally in photography, and because it was a clear night for good photography and several planets were visible at once, I had two cameras with me. The cameras were an iPhone 6s and a HiDef Camcorder that also records sound. I have made much wildlife, astronomical, and aircraft photography from this location and am very familiar with it. Everything I saw was against the sky, nothing was against background trees or anything.

The location is a family farm where I was born, lived for many years, gone out nearly every night after dark to check things, taken many photos and videos at this location, and have never seen anything like this.

It started when I was looking southwest at Venus and then saw two bright red glowing objects approaching from the west. They flew smoothly, were completely vertical in orientation to each other, were soundless, and there was no evidence of an airplane or aircraft lights. There were no strobe lights, green lights, sounds, or anything vaguely like an airplane. The object’s lights didn’t blink or change in intensity or brightness. The movements were in complete synchrony, and the objects looked exactly alike. From this first second of the sighting, I was mystified.

They approached Venus and because they stayed together so smoothly and completely, I thought they had to be connected. I watched for what would happen when they would pass Venus. They were in a position of one precisely above the other in a straight vertical line. When they went by Venus, it appeared that the top one was about a full Moon’s apparent diameter above Venus and the lower one about the same distance below Venus–the angular distance between the two was about a degree or more with Venus in the middle. They moved so synchronously that I expected them to be connected. Although I couldn’t see any connection, I thought they might be connected to each other by something thin in a barbell-like fashion.

But when they passed by Venus, I saw no dimming, so I didn’t know whether they could have been two objects moving in exact synchrony or whether they were like barbells and connected by a thin strand (that wouldn’t show up much when they flew past Venus). They didn’t even slightly sway in the wind and just moved smoothly and steadily together. They looked nothing like Chinese lanterns or any type of balloon.

They flew in a controlled fashion–they stayed in a vertical position. I don’t know how they flew–I didn’t hear engine noises, but they must have had some kind of power because they were red and glowing. I was amazed because they looked like something that couldn’t happen-like one would see in a cartoon or a computer simulation. Also because they took up such a large degree of arc, probably a degree or more, I thought they might have been close or of a huge object and expected a sound, but there was none. I don’t know their altitude, but they showed against the sky, not the background.

I had been taking photos of the planets with my iPhone in hand when I saw them. But I was so completely dumbfounded in amazement at first that I didn’t do anything except stand there frozen. When my brain finally re-activated, I realized I needed to take photos, so I took pictures–snapped three photos in very rapid succession at 7:22 EST each 5 seconds after the previous one. This was after the red objects had already passed. I think I didn’t see anything when I took these photos.

Then I noticed a huge area of the sky light up with all kinds of blinking, gyrating, dancing, flashing objects. This display took up a large area of the sky–maybe 20-30 degrees in width and height. It spread from the tree to my southeast to west of Venus, which was to my west.

Because the objects in this display were flashing and seemed to be moving around, I ran for the video camera to try to capture this motion. It took some time to run to the camcorder set it up, get it turned on in the dark, and wait for it to come on. It was mounted on a tripod. By the time, I had the camcorder going, most of the objects had flown behind a tree and a building to the east so I couldn’t see them. I thought the tail end of the objects was still there. I pointed the camcorder and tried to videotape the dancing objects. When I had seen them with my eyes they appeared to flash, move around–sometimes synchronously, blink, etc. All this was soundless. There seemed to have been a number of red and other objects that constantly changed configuration. These were definitely not like any standard aircraft lights. I took a 26-second video (although that doesn’t seem like much you can do a lot with it using a computer).

The size of this display of the group of objects was many, many times to large to be the lighting on an aircraft. A low aircraft (such as ones coming in for a landing at John Glenn Columbus International Airport–about 20 miles away) might to be about the apparent angular size of the Moon or smaller. The size of the Moon when compared to size of the display of the group of objects in the video images was very much smaller. Another estimation of the apparent size scale can be found at the end of a video. It shows the length of a car on the road in a wide-angle view. The car is approximately 0.13 mile away, but the length of the car is many times shorter than the display of the group of objects. If the group of objects had been the lighting on an airplane, the airplane would have been either tremendously large or so close it would be almost crashing into the camera.

There was nothing there that would cause a group of objects to appear. This is a large family farm area surrounded by agricultural fields with no one around. The neighbors are my relatives and I know what they are doing. I am very used to seeing airplanes, blimps, blimps with lighted sides, and all kinds of aircraft here and photographing them in the dark.

These objects seemed nothing like airplane lights or other commonly photographed objects. The sighting was nothing like viewing a drone–I have a drone, fly it, photograph with it, and repair it, so I am familiar with drones. The objects were nothing like lasers or flashlights, because these need something to reflect against to be seen (such as cats chasing a laser on a wall). What I saw were bodies against the sky. It was nothing like fireworks. I have recorded fireworks from this general position using this camera and they look nothing like this. This was nothing like Chinese lanterns–several Chinese lanterns have landed in the field I filmed in and I have them. They weren’t birds, because some glowed red, they blinked on and off, there was no wing motion, and birds don’t light up at night. I saw no green lights at all any time during the sighting and it is standard for aircraft to have green lights. I read that all aircraft built after March 1996 must have an anti-collision light system (strobe lights) turned on for all flight activities in poor visibility. There was no continuous track of strobe lights as is seen with an aircraft–just white flashes at random all over the sky. In addition, aircraft show a patterned sequence of flashing their lights and there was no form of pattern with these object’s blinking.

The white flashing objects were nothing like stars. When one looks at the sky, one can see stars and they often twinkle. But they do not completely disappear, and new stars do not appear in different places as they did in the video. The stars and planets have stable locations. Thus, the phenomenon wasn’t photographs of stars or twinkling. Both cameras can photograph stars at night. Also I have seen meteor showers and northern lights and this sighting resembled neither. I have also seen flares such as airplanes sometimes send out–I may even have one that I collected here years ago. These last longer than a split second and they travel downward, not in all directions.

The camcorder records sound very well, but there was no sound except for when I rustled the grass, fiddled with the camera, and from the road traffic.

I’m not sure about the colors–whether they were just red and white or whether there were more colors. The objects blinked in random patterns–nothing like an airplane.

The objects I watched by eye seemed to dart, dance, and gyrate, and because of that and the flashing, I had gone to the video camera to photograph the motion. In the video, the white objects seemed to just give very quick flashes and it appeared that what I captured of these were flashes. Occasionally, there appeared to be double white lights.

After I recorded the views, I brought the IPhone and camcorder into the house and e-mailed the camera photos to my computer, and downloaded the camcorder video tape recording in to the computer. I still have the original e-mails and camcorder tape. There was a game going on at the school several miles to the west, so I contacted someone there to see if anything had been released. The answer was no, and I didn’t think so to begin with but checked anyway. Later I called the airport to see if anything unusual had been flying here or if anyone had seen anything. They said no, and suggested calling the Bigelow organization that collects UFO information. I think I called them twice and left a message. They returned the call several days later, but I didn’t get back to them. I immediately on November 4 posted the video both on YouTube and Facebook and also did the next day in order to find out if anyone else had seen or knew anything, but I didn’t find out anything. The original November 4 YouTube videos and other posts are still on.

The wind was blowing from north to south. The objects traveled from west to east. If the wind were coming from the north, the group of objects would have been blown to the south and stayed in view if they had continued to be lit. Instead, the group flew behind the tree and building to the east and quickly disappeared. Thus, because they were not flying in the direction the wind would have blown them, they may have been operating under some form of power.

Because this was my backyard, I have taken many other videos in the same area, with the same lighting conditions, in wide and narrow angle views, with a tripod, including videos of different aircraft, and have not seen anything like this. For example, airplanes photograph as discrete continuous objects following a path; they don’t look like randomly scattered blinking lights. These other videos don’t show the white and red objects as seen in this one and could be used as control videos to compare normal videos to this one.

Immediately after I made the photography, I wondered if I had photographed anything, because this was difficult photography. It was dark, which made it difficult to use the iPhone and to even turn on the camcorder let alone focus it. But when I uploaded everything to the computer, I was amazed that everything had worked–the cameras had come on instantly and in focus.

I had taken three photos by iPhone immediately after the red objects had passed on 2016.11.04 at 19:22:27, 19:22:32, and 19:22:37. These three turned out well and although I thought I had photographed nothing because I did the photography after the 2 red objects had passed and I didn’t see anything when I took the photographs, the camera appeared to photograph some sort of splotches passing in front of the camera.

The videotape also turned out much better than I expected. I might have seen a few flashes when I made the video, but the actual video showed much more. When I clicked through it, one click at a time on full screen in the dark it showed many flashes and also a pair of red objects. I had set the camcorder to daytime photography to try to get the colors of the planets, this allowed me to photograph the objects in color, and it did photograph red and white flashes

When I uploaded the three photographs into the computer, I noticed bright spots in them that photographed the same way objects would. They were generally to the east of Venus. Although the photographs were taken only 5 seconds apart the spots were not in the same place, thus it appeared that they were moving (as the two red objects had done).

In order to check whether the spots were in the same place, I made computer transparencies and overlaid them. This showed that the spots were not in the same place in the photographs. Thus, they had been moving and this would make their outlines in the photographs less clear.

In order to find out if the spots were part of some natural background, I looked at the photos that were taken right before I saw the two red objects. There were several of these photographs and no such spots were visible on any of these photographs. Thus, the spots didn’t appear to be part of the natural background. They also wouldn’t be some form of camera artifact.

With this camera, I can easily photograph such objects as Mars and Saturn and have even photographed dimmer objects such as Neptune and asteroids, so I’m familiar with the camera’s performance. The stars and planets, of course, stand still whereas these objects were moving and thus more difficult to photograph-with less distinct outlines. I saw no airplanes at the time I took the photographs and I would have noticed them because I was looking at Venus. Moreover, it would be unusual to see three airplanes together at once, and I would definitely have noticed. The only things I had seen near Venus were the two red objects and that was a few seconds before I took the photographs. Also, I doubt if my camera would have taken photographs of birds or insects, because it was dark. The objects showed up as bright spots that looked like lit objects such as Mars. The trees photographed as dark bodies that were barely distinguishable from the background. In addition, the trees were much larger than birds and don’t more around.

Although the only objects I saw were the two red ones, it appeared that I had photographed several other things. Because I had seen the red objects with my eyes, I thought the spots might have also been objects traveling with the red ones. I think they weren’t the red objects because these had been exactly vertical and the spots I photographed were in more of a horizontal configuration.

Thus, it appeared that more unlit objects might have passed after I saw the two red ones. I didn’t see these when I took the photographs, so they might have been unlit but traveling with the red object/objects.

These spots were a bright color and this is how the illuminated objects, such as Mars had photographed. I think if I had photographed birds, they have appeared dark. Thus, I thought that the objects might have been emitting some form of light or other radiation that could photograph, but not be visible to the human eye.

I quit photographing with the iPhone, because the entire south part of the sky suddenly lit up with all kinds of flashing lights and I ran to the video camera. This also made me wonder if the bright spots were objects, because the flashing lights would have come from objects, but the only objects I had seen before this were the two red ones. Also, all I saw of the flashing lights were the flashes; I assumed the flashes were from objects that weren’t visible in the dark. Thus, perhaps the spots I saw were among the objects that flashed later but were not emitting radiation in the visible range or flashing when they passed Venus.

This photography suggests that some objects might have been traveling with the red ones, but I may not have seen them because they were not lit in a light frequency visible to the human eye. Immediately after this, however, the entire sky lit up with flashing, blinking objects. Thus, they may have changed their frequency (during the flashing) to one visible to humans.

Perhaps this could be a reason why it is sometimes reported that UFOs will suddenly blink out or disappear.

I was able to upload the video recording, which had photographed the tail end the group of dancing objects before they disappeared behind the tree. I was also able to click through this video one click at a time in full screen in the dark and also to modify the lighting on this video to study it further.

The video definitely showed some of the object’s flashing as distinct, obvious, bright objects with discrete boundaries. It also sometimes showed dimmer flashes, or bright flashes turning into dimmer ones

The video showed the blinking and color of the lit objects. These were red and white blinking objects, but no other colors were evident (but there may have other colors that just didn’t photograph). These objects appeared real because they showed up against the sky not against any background. The first two red objects that I had seen with my eyes shone a very bright red–sort of a blood red color. Two red objects that seemed to be together also showed up on the video, but these were not as red. However, a camcorder photographing in the dark might show a different color than the eye would see, even if it photographed the same thing.

The white objects would blink on and off at random times in random places over a wide area of the sky. (The photography was taken over the fields of a large farm. The neighbors were relatives, and no one was doing anything odd that would cause objects to appear at that time).

I had initially seen two red objects traveling to the east. Although I didn’t see this with my eyes when I took the video, it also captured two red objects that flew together and stayed on for a while–the video captured them three times. I don’t know if these red objects were the same ones I saw with my eyes at the beginning when they passed Venus. There were several rapid changes in configuration of the red objects and I don’t know whether this was caused by a red object darting from one place to another, or if there had been a larger object that turned on different red lights. I had seen no obvious connections between the two red objects in my original observation by eyesight but don’t know if these were what I was seeing in the video. Sometimes a third and maybe more red lights would be with the two that stayed together. Many of the flashes were very distinct and clear, whereas some were blurred. I don’t know if the blurring could have been caused by motion. I had very little time to film the trailing edge of the group, before they flew behind the tree (but it was still possible to slow down the recording on the computer and find a lot of detail).

The video showed red objects and it sometimes showed two that would stay on for a while and traveled together. I don’t know whether the two red objects that seemed to fly together in the video were also the first two I saw with my eyes (the possibly barbell-like ones that passed Venus). These were not vertical as the ones I saw by eye were, but were tilted and more horizontally oriented. These two red objects together showed three separate times on the video. Sometimes these two objects would be in different distances from each other and in different orientations. The two red objects that sometimes appeared together did not look like blinking airplane lights, because an airplane would travel away in a straight direction and generally have more than just red lights. If these were on an airplane, it was doing unusual gyrations.

I saw no strobe lights with the group of red lights that stayed together, such as airplanes have, and there was plenty of time on the video to see strobe lights.

At other times, I would see three bright, clear red objects on at once, like a triangle. I couldn’t tell whether there was anything connecting the objects. Sometimes I would see several red objects together and wondered if they could all be lights on one object. I also wondered if some of the objects had quickly moved from one location to another. There seemed to be brighter sharper red objects and some dimmer ones that were more like blotches, or maybe rapidly moving objects. I don’t know if there were other colors.

The red lights that traveled together in the video did not turn on or off at exactly same time (as seen in the slowed down video), although this timing was quite close to synchronous. In airplanes, such lighting would be synchronous. The first two views of the red objects that stayed together stayed on about the same amount of time, but the last one was shorter. And the time between views was less for the last one also. The distance between the red objects varied. Thus there had been no patterned sequence of blinking lights such as is on aircraft.

Other oddities were that the two red objects would completely disappear between flashes. Nearly all aircraft in the dark keep at least one steady light on all the time. Their blinking pattern wasn’t regular. Also, they were higher in altitude each time they appeared. They might have been traveling upward after they had passed me at what appeared to be a fairly low altitude. If aircraft are going over the horizon, they go down. These appeared to rise as if they had just taken off, traveled upwards, or were getting closer, but they didn’t look any larger as they would if they were becoming closer. And if these were the lighting on a craft, I should have continued to see them because there was a lot of time on the video for them to show up again. But I didn’t see them again–they slowed only three times.

In comparison to the red objects, when the white objects blinked, they would sometimes be on for just a tiny fraction of a second (they appeared and disappeared in one click), they generally seemed brighter and sharper than the red objects, and individual objects did not appear to move together as some of the red objects did.

These were nothing like strobe lights. Although a strobe light may flash on and off quickly as these objects did, a property of strobe lights is that they are regular. There was nothing regular in the flashing of these lights. In comparison, when one watches airplane strobe lights, the strobes continue in a smooth path along with the airplane. These white objects appeared and disappeared all over a large area of the sky. Their strobing wasn’t regular, nor did any strobes follow a continuous path.

There were some very distinct, bright red and white objects, but others also looked red and white, but dimmer and more blurred. I don’t remember from seeing them with my eyes if there were other colors. In general, they seemed stationary when they were lit up, but some were a little blurred as if they had started to move rapidly.

No object’s flashes were recorded in the same exact place, so I photographed nothing that was fixed or stationary. I think I taped only one blink twice in almost the same location.

There was no smooth movement like an airplane flying away from the camera. In several instances, an object would look double as if it were two objects together or had very rapidly moved while blinking on. The planets never appeared as double. Some of the object’s lighting seemed to have trails as if this were showing motion. Sometimes UFOs are reported as merging or coming apart. These double images suggest that the objects could be close together, or possibly even be merging.

There were several indications that these objects had some form of power. One reason is that the group took a definite direction and was not simply blown with the wind. The ability to move in a different direction from the wind indicates that some form of power is in use. Also, they glowed, and this glowing would take power. In addition, they were able to blink off and on. Blinking lights such as strobe lights use different forms of power and some form of control is needed to make the light flash on and off. The ability to light up and to flash indicates that some form of both power and control existed in these objects.

During the time the video was made, the camcorder was toggled between a wide (wide-angle) and a narrow (telephoto) field of view. The first portion shows a wide-angle view that includes the tree silhouettes below and to the left side of the picture. Venus and the Moon are a distance apart. Venus appears to move to the right, when the camcorder setting is changed from a wide to a narrow field of view (it doesn’t really move). A number of the flashes showed up in different places in the wide angle view and this showed how large a portion of the sky the flashes took up.

Because this wide view covers such a large angular distance, if this display of the group of objects had been of aircraft lighting, it would take up a much smaller angular distance. For example, the angle covered by the diameter of the full Moon is about 31 arcmin or half a degree. A close airplane would subtend about the angular size of the Moon. The display of this group of objects was many, many times the angular size of the Moon.

These object’s flashes could also be compared to the general background. I took the video of the tail end of a group of flashing objects that were headed east. Thus, there are more of these flashes on the left side. The background is dark with large irregular blotches of black, red, green, and purple that changed shape constantly and were dimmer and less defined than the flashes. The objects that flashed differ from the background because they are generally obvious, bright, and circular-shaped with well-defined edges, and smaller than the background blotches, rather than just large amorphous, changing blotches.

Because the background isn’t white, I think most of the white flashes are from objects. Unlike the background, the white flashes some are very clear, and sharp, although some are smaller and dimmer. The red objects that photographed the best were also circular-shaped with fairly well defined edges. However, both red and white objects could transform from well defined into less well-defined flashes. An instance here is where two of the red objects that traveled together began as sharply defined, but became less well defined later. At 00.08 – – 00.17 two sharply defined red objects and then three were seen at first. Then the third one blinked off, but the two continued together. But as they continued, they became less well defined. At 00:10 – -00.15 the two red objects that traveled together showed for the last time. On their last blinks, both objects showed as bodies that seemed to go to the left with trails to the right. Then they disappeared and didn’t show up together again, even through there was time on the video for this to happen. Perhaps they had sped off.

The white objects would often light up for only a small part of a second. They often would appear for only one click. Because they were on for such a small amount of time, it is best to go through the video one click at a time, else these very short flashes wouldn’t be seen.

The bright, clear objects with distinct outlines are most frequently on the left side and middle of the video images, because the group was heading east and few bright clear ones were on the right side by the time the video was taken. However, the right side could be used as a control to show what the sky would normally look like if no blinking objects were present. Although the sky is the same on the left and right side, the blinking white and red objects are generally visible on the left side. If these objects were some kind of camera artifacts, the objects would be visible on both sides. (When I had first seen the display it was to the west of Venus and heading east and then the flashing objects covered a wide area of the sky but they were drifting to the east and by the time I had the camcorder on, I was just photographing the tail end of the group. When I took the video, I thought it might be too late to get anything, but I did photograph some of it.) Thus, because the flashing was mainly on the left side of the video, the right side might be used as a sort of control for how the normal sky would appear. I have many videos that could be compared to this one and used as controls.

I disregarded the area at the bottom of the video, near the line of the tree silhouettes, when looking for object’s flashes, because there was some background lighting, which might have caused some form of photographic artifacts.

The video began with a wide-angle exposure. A white light appeared at 00:00 – -00.25. It was below the Moon and to the left of Venus. Because the camcorder was recording at the wide angle setting and shows both the Moon, Venus, and silhouettes of the trees, it demonstrations that even at this stage (as the group of objects flew east) that objects could appear far enough west to show that the display took up a considerable angular distance.

Two (or maybe 3) white objects appeared at 00:02 – -00:23, then more flashes appeared. Increased activity begins at about 00:07. One of several double appearing white blinks occurred at 00:08 – -00:17, another was at (00:08 – -00.07), and another at 00:015– -00:10. These may be two white lights that are near each other when they flashed. One white object flashed twice in about the same location (00:16 – -00.09 and 6 clicks later also at 00:16 – -00.09). At 00:11 – -00.14 four fairly dim white objects flashed; two of these were quite close together.

At 00:13 – -00.12, a white object appears in a wide view above a tree silhouette, and 3 clicks later another white object appears to its right and some distance away compared to the tree silhouette. Nothing was visible during further clicks. One trailing, dim white object appeared to show on the right side as late as 00:19 – -00.06.

The first two red objects appeared at 00:07 – -00.18, they then continue to appear together through 8 clicks until the furthest left one blinked out at (still at 00:07 – -00.18), then another one appeared below the former position of the left one (still at 00:07 – -00.18). After that two red objects appeared together again at (00:07 – -00.17), and then after another click a third red object appeared ((00:07 – -00.17). The two red objects appeared together again at 00.09 – -00.16. Sometimes a red object would appear by itself such as at 00:09 – – 00.16. At 00:08 – -00.17 two red objects that have stayed together are visible, in one click the one on the left becomes fainter and sort of appears as if it is moving down, in the next click a red object appears under the right red object that is still on, as if the left object moved to the right and under the right object which stayed lit. Because several red objects sometimes came on together, possibly they were lights on a larger craft. Sometimes they would form a triangle.

Both white and red objects sometimes appeared to have trails, for example white one at 00:03 – -00.22.

These red objects were sharp, but others sometimes appeared that were less sharp and I don’t know if these were just photographic artifacts, or objects with dimmer lights, or red objects in motion. Some of the white flashes were much clearer and more distinct than others. When I am recording stars or airplanes with this camera after dark, I see no flashing objects like this, so they weren’t camera artifacts. The main time there are camera artifacts on this camera’s videos is when the battery is low. These artifacts are normally rectangular-shaped and sometimes they contain colors or designs. They aren’t flashing objects like these. I just watched the video portions that were above the tree line at the bottom. There may have been artifacts along the tree silhouettes and higher because of background lighting.

I posted this video on YouTube on that day and have posted more several more times. Because one could see a lot less on YouTube than on the HiDef video, I just posted several slowed down, enhancements of the video to show what some of the blinking objects looked like and a general view: https://youtu.be/P1Cge5TpIyc. I also tried adding a HiDef video, but the YouTube ones didn’t have enough pixels to show much and I received no comments.

I think my iPhone was pointing in the general area of the southwest when I took the photos and the photos were in full high definition.

The camcorder was mounted on a tripod and pointing south. It was a Sony HDR-HC5 HDV 1080 4MP MiniDV Hi with 10x Optical Zoom and digital zoom. The recording was made in 1080p full high-definition video on DV cassette tape. The camera has night vision, but I had it set for day vision, so I could see the color of the planets. The video was transferred to an iMac computer using iMovie. The video is large, 425 MB, and I do not know how to send it. The YouTube video upload shows much less than the actual video.

I have the original photographs that I sent from my iPhone to my computer and the tracking information. I think I had GPS turned off, but the coordinates were latitude: 40.174204, and longitude – 82.964062. I also have the original videotape. My camera taped over the video, but I had downloaded it before this happened, and I have heard also that an original video can be retrieved even if something is taped over it.

A second reason I have not yet reported the sighting was that I had the photos on my iPhone, but then purchased a new iPhone. The technician assured me that everything would transfer from the old phone to the new one. But later I discovered that everything had transferred except these three UFO photos and several before. I felt terrible because I thought I couldn’t verify the photos. But I just (2017.10.11) found out about EXIF data and tried this with the photographs. This worked, and I was able to extract the digital information from the photographs, as shown below:

I used the Internet program camerasummary.com to extract the EXIF information and that for the first iPhone photograph is: “The image on the left is your original image and the image on the right is the thumbnail stored within the image file. The photographs that I had originally mailed to my computer provided a complete EXIF. However, another portion of the photographs (not the UFO ones) did transfer from my old iPhone to the new one and these are still on my iPhone.

Several people looked at the photography. One person wanted something else called the raw data on the iPhone photos. I looked for this, but it was lost during the transfer because the three UFO photos did not transfer. Since everything on the old phone was transferred at once (not separately) by an electronic process, it is strange (and very irritating) that just the UFO photos didn’t transfer. It might be interesting to try to investigate this; I still have the receipt for the new phone.”

Conclusion

At this time, I am unable to determine what the witness saw that evening, and for now, it remains tagged as “Unidentified.”

Witness Testimony

My ex husband and I in the summer of 1985 were driving on Parkman Road and saw a large disk floating above a house, through the trees, as we were driving down the street. He slapped on the brakes and backed up and we glimpsed as it flew straight upwards and was gone. It happened so fast. It was about 7 PM.

The chrome (brushed nickle in color is best described) disk shaped aircraft had “colors around” as if painted onto the chrome. We also saw lights that shined down but were very dim and shining downwards. It was about the size, or a bit bigger, than a house roof. And had it wanted to land, there would have been no room anyhow. Nobody has ever believed us so we never told too many. LOL!

Description: Hi William: my name is J. and I am contacting you from just east of Cincinnati. I would really like to speak with you about the two posts made in the site about the Orange lights near Hillsboro. I have seen them the past two nights at approximately 8:15 PM. Now I see I am not the only one. Please give me a call when you get this.

Phone Interview With Witness: The witness stated that the same lights were seen on successive nights (Nov 3 and 4, 2016) at about the same time. The witness stated that he was driving home and 3 red-orange lights in a line to the east and southeast (towards Hillsboro, OH). Then 2 more lights appeared to the left of these lights. The witness stated the lights suddenly appeared, then sequentially vanished and then reappeared in the same location. The witness lost sight of them while due to obstructions approaching his driveway. Then he looked in the location that they had been and they were gone. He then saw a cluster of white flashing lights in the same area where the red-orange lights had been. He said that the lights were not from aircraft. The witness served 8 years in the U.S. Marine Corps and is familiar with aircraft.

UFOs NorthWest Note: The first few frames of the video appear to show lights in a triangular formation. Subsequent to that the witness zoomed in on the lights so all of the lights making up the triangular formation were not visible.

Location far North Western Fairfield Co. Ohio near intersection of Rt. I-70 and SRt. 256. Observation would have been of something in far Eastern Franklin Co. Could not be more specific. I was using a Bushnell 10X50 self focusing binocular. I often watch planes arriving from the West heading for my location, where they make a big turn to head to Port Columbus for landing. Weather calm, sky cloudless blue-gray.

Sat down with above binocular to observe the Western sky for planes incoming to Port Columbus. Planes fly over my neighborhood before turning 180 degrees to approach the airport. Interesting things to see while waiting for airplanes. Saw two humming birds pause in my field of view, not visible without the binocular. Saw two large black Canadian goose feathers floating slowly down from very high up. Starting to realize there are many things that one never sees with the eyes alone when looking to the sky.

Observed what appeared to be a small crumpled up sheet of transparent, slightly tumbling cellophane suddenly appear in my basketball sized field of vision. Thought at first it might be a kite or a piece of trash carried by the wind. Then realized there was very little breeze. Not enough to fly a kite or pick up a sheet of cellophane. Then the odd stuff happened.

The transparent cellophane sky area started changing, getting somewhat smaller and at the same time an object appeared to grow out of it. I’m somewhat embarrassed to say it had the exact appearance of two small shiny silver dinner plates connected at their rim with a rounded dome on top. My first thoughts were that is definitely not some kid’s kite. It appeared to change its angle with the ground slightly and head West. At least it appeared to get smaller as the seconds ticked by. It would be impossible to say whether it was moving West or truly getting smaller. In any event it suddenly vanished. This entire event took no more than 5 or 6 seconds. The object shrunk form about the size of an aspirin tablet held at arms length to that of a baby aspirin before it vanished. I had no time to even consider a photo, having just enough time to remark to my wife that she wouldn’t believe what I just saw. The show was then over. I watched for about ten or so more minutes but saw nothing more of an unusual nature.

My first thoughts were not related to little green men, but I remember thinking…So the government does have a cloaking device. Later, the more I thought about the incident the more disturbed I became. To the point I tried to put it out of my mind, not really knowing what I had seen.

Hi there John my wife took this photo while we were on our way home from college about three years ago and still am not that sure what it is. These two lights were very bright, so bright they could been seen clear as day from over a mile away. The highway we were on was I-76 heading South from Akron to Lodi about 1 mile from Lodi. It also couldn’t have came from any modern air craft due to it not having any flight indicators and not making any sound what so ever. 

On top of that the object was directly above the median of the highway about 200 to 300 feet in the sky. Some of my friends have came back and said that it was a blimp but after we went under it going at 70 mph the craft was gone and I couldn’t find it anywhere in my rear-view mirror in which I should have been able to see it in less than a minute in which not allowing a blimp to move that far.

Although it is the reflection of the eyes of a deer in the camera lens, I feel the effect is the same. I think what you are seeing, are the two lights of the oncoming car, and the bright headlights. They create an effect in the lens of the camera. 

If you edit the photo and move the lights over the car, they appear to be a match when it comes to distance apart, relative to the car. 

I hope this is a valid theory and of interest to you. I am not trying to diminish what you saw, but it does seem similar to many other solved cases.

However, their response was the fact that the object was seen with the naked eye, and if true, thus rules out a reflection in the camera lens or on the car windshield. Their response was as follows:

SUBJECT: Photographs of 2 unidentified aircraft
LOCATION: Pioneer Park, Hwy. 17 – Independence/Covington, KY(Kenton County)
DATE: Sunday, November 2, 2003 – 5:26 to 5:28 p.m.

SUMMARY:
While walking my dog at Pioneer Park during daylight hours, I spotted an object in the sky that was, from my perspective, near the moon. The object was first considered a reflection of sunlight from an airplane as other high-flying planes reflecting sunlight had been visible moments earlier.However, the color of this object was pure white, unlike the gold-colored reflections seen on planes around that same time due to the color of the setting sun. Within moments, a second and identical object became apparent.Both were traveling with a slow path from east to north, first observed near the moon at an estimated 40-degrees above the horizon at 5:26 p.m.E.D.T.  The objects clearly traveled on course together and at thesame general speed, heading to the north and directly over Downtown, Cincinnati.The two objects became fainter as they moved to the north and eventually disappeared in the sky haze around 5:28 p.m..

During this two minute duration, sixteen photographs were made using an Olympus D-550 Zoom digital camera (3.0 megapixel) and the images stored on a 128 megabyte memory card.

The first photo was made without using the camera zoom, showing the first visible object near the moon. (Faint white object seen to the left of the moon at the 10 o’clock position).

The remaining photos were made using the zoom set at maximum, and the second object was not noticed until after the fifth photo was taken, It was, however, visibly apparent and photographed on the fourth photo.

When I realized two identical objects were traveling together I stopped taking pictures momentarily, trying to focus my eyes on the objects to ascertain some type of aircraft identification. I could not visually obtain any make on the objects and took note that the light source of each object did not seem reflective, as I had been seeing on other airplanes, as they were each ‘white’ in color and of the same intensity.

Several images were taken of the two objects as they moved off to the north, over Downtown Cincinnati. Foreground images of nearby trees are provided in the shot for frame of reference, although the auto focus mechanism of the Olympus camera tightened the focus on the trees, leaving the two aerial objects ‘soft’ on focus.

I could not identify them as airplanes nor could any preliminary analysis of the 16-digital photos using Adobe Photoshop 6.0 reveal any additional features, such as wings or a tail section, using the magnification tool.

These are the first objects I have photographed that I cannot give immediate account for. I cannot rule out that they are two military or other jet aircraft flying together, but the reflective appearance were distinctly different than other airplanes in the vicinity (aircraft can be seen at that time and usually took on a ‘reddish’ hue due to the setting sun).No contrails were present and no sound could be heard. Traffic on nearby Highway 17 would drown out any possible sound, however.

A word on “Reflection Time”

The “reflection time” of a plane reflecting sunlight is dependent upon many variables, such as the position of the sun, the situation and banking conditions of the plane, and the convenient location of the ground observer.In the case of these 2-objects seen near Cincinnati, it should be noted that the illumination of these two objects were nearly identical and their brightness was consistent throughout their 2-minute sighting time and path from east to north. In most cases, a reflective glare will recede after an aircraft performs a banking maneuver and solid aircraft structure can be seen. This was not the case with the 2-objects photographed near Cincinnati on November 2, 2003.

On Wednesday, October 29, a married couple reported a UFO sighting near Harrison Avenue in Cincinnati, Ohio, described as a bluish-white light that held a fixed position over Western Hills, also around 5:30 p.m. Thatreport is enclosed below.

offers the following comments:

Obviously, the objects were east of your vantage point, in order to be in the frame with the Moon. Also apparent is the red component of the objects, which is likely and primarily the result of reflected long-wave light rays from the setting western sun.

Most importantly, if you view the attached image, you can clearly see the ovoid shape of the object, after much of the glare has been stripped away. I have also included embossed and edge-detected images for your study.As you mentioned in your report, there are no signs of wings, or any other features consistent with a conventional aircraft.

The fact that the objects seemed to be traveling at a reduced airspeed, would not rule out a non-conventional craft, or UFO, if you will.

I agree with your statement that any reflected sunlight is normally momentary and variable in nature from the vantage point of the viewer.The appearance of the objects as you reported them would be more consistent with self-illumination, caused by ionized atmospheric gases immediately surrounding the craft. At night, these emanations can appear in a range of intensities and colors, from deep red, to blue-white. Most “nocturnal lights” are reported as reddish-orange in color.

Description: After zooming in I saw it was a triangle. The orange plume above it look like the aurora borealis.

My buddy and were at work.

We saw an orange light flying across the skies very slowly. It looked like that the top of it was on fire had an orange plume swaying back and forth with straight laser beam lights coming straight out the top of it. It was very strange. Here is a picture and close up.

The photo was taken in Milford, Ohio in Clermont County last Sunday, June 7, 2015 at 9:35 PM.

The object was heading north.

Those few residents of Centerville, Ohio who were up and about around 5:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, March 6, 2004 were going about their normal routines, waiting for daylight to break. Activity at police dispatch headquarters, meanwhile, was anything but routine.

Phone lines began to light up with citizen complaints of bizarre ‘flashing in the sky’ and electrical disruptions that seized a large area from Lakeview Drive to Bethel Road, Stone Lake and Linden. One after another the calls came in.

“Centerville Police?” said the flustered police dispatcher to yet another caller.

“Has the whole street called?” came the voice on the other line.

“Oh my God…” the caller could be heard exclaiming.  “I saw it, it was right over my house and it hovered down… I can’t believe I’m saying this! It looked like an ALIEN SHIP…!”

Needless to say, this morning would not be so routine at police dispatch headquarters.

The resident on Lakeview Drive, later contacted for this report, contends that a solid physical object was present in the skies near Stingley Elementary School in Centerville. This object was hovering at near treetop level and would interact with nearby power lines, causing an arcing ‘flash’ that would send a powerful explosive report across the sleepy and confused neighborhood.   1

This detail is consistent with callers heard on the 9-1-1 police tapes of the incident, obtained through the diligence of UFO investigator Bruce M. Forrester, Jr., of Bellbrook, Ohio, in which area residents inform of the sky lighting up and electrical disruptions. One caller said the source of the bright flashing was from somewhere ‘near Stingley school.’   2

The Lakeview Drive resident who lives across from the school, and who also observed the object with his wife, said: “This house-sized object was a saucer-shaped metallic structure, polished aluminum surface with alternating sets of rotating, flare-like lights. The two sets of lights clearly rotated in opposite directions and were very bright, consisting of several colors ranging from yellow, amber, white and blue. There was no smoke or exhaust that I could see.”

This UFO was somehow interacting with power lines near Stingley Elementary School, according to the primary claimant. After each blinding explosion the air pressure in the neighborhood would “change” with a loud concussion, and at that point all the power would go out across the neighborhood. Following this disruption, the UFO would vanish from its place at treetop level near the school. The same – or a separate, identical object – would ‘reappear’ over an adjacent field as the power in the region would slowly restore. This object would then assume a slow path and amble back toward the school to its previous position where it would again explode with a flash after making some kind of ‘arcing’ contact with the power lines. This procedure, as said by the Lakeview Drive resident, would repeat several times.

Trees in the area were burnt during this drama, branches and limbs were said by the Lakeview Drive witness to flame and ‘glitter’ for several hours after the incident. The sparkling glitter was likened to flashing 4th of July fireworks.  3

“I wish that there was a good explanation for this,” said the Lakeview Drive witness, a 25-year old father of a newly born baby and working in ‘financial services.’ “It moved over the school and came down in the field. I saw it raise and lower. I know it was controlled and I wish I had somebody to come to my door and lay it on the line, just give me a good answer for all this.”

According to police logs obtained from the Centerville Police Department, the station was swamped with the calls coming in at around 5:37 a.m. and police officers were dispatched to the scene shortly thereafter.   4

Fire logs obtained from the Washington Township fire department indicate that a fire truck was dispatched to the location at 5:48a.m. and another unit sent at 5:58 a.m.   5

Making this situation a tad more interesting are reports that emergency responders in the fire department ladder truck also saw the UFO, and the gauges on their emergency vehicle ‘went funny.’

“The firemen were repeatedly asking me for descriptions of what I saw, and I told them and they said ‘that’s the same thing we saw.'” According to Lakeview Drive resident, citing firemen and police officers that loudly communicated with each other at the scene of the bedlam.   6

One area resident, standing in the midst of the hustle and bustle, jokingly said: “It must be Osama Bin Laden.”

“I told the two fire officers what I saw and asked them if I sounded like a complete lunatic,” said the Lakeview Drive resident. “He told me that I was not a lunatic and that they saw it too, and it made the gauges in their truck go nuts.”

Following this tantalizing lead, an inquiry was made to find out if emergency responders were also witness to this UFO.

Telephone greetings to the Centerville Fire Department’s “Station 41” about this issue were not warmly received, and the simple phone call requesting some basic information on the March 6 dispatch was rejected.

Lieutenant Sarah Lee, handling the inquiry to her department, advised that (oh joy!) she could not be of any help. To the contrary, the wagons were circling, the mote was being filled and hatches were being battened down as it was announced that any incoming inquiry must be made via “written request.”

“Why don’t you call Wright Patterson Air Force Base?” she said after listening briefly to the weird 9-1-1 tape by telephone.

“Wright Pat can help you more than I can. Unfortunately, I cannot answer any of your questions,” then advised Lt. Lee of the Centerville Fire Department. “It is routine procedure and policy for us to not ‘give out’ information without proper authorization.” 7

Like sheesh, you’d think this was an inquiry to Ft. Knox about their security methods.

Suddenly the operations and practices of this basic public agency seemed to be operating like the Freedom of Information Office of the super-secret “Blue Room” of Wright Patterson Air Force Base, the very base the inquiry was referred to.   8

A friendly letter was then penned to Fire Chief Parks, basically begging to be put in contact with the emergency responders who were on the scene of the UFO incident on March 6.

“I am not sure who gave you your information but it appears they were aware of something we did not see or share in,” said Fire Chief Kenneth C. Parks in response to the plea.   9

Apparently, The Chief also did not take kindly to the request for contact info with the emergency responders who were dispatched to the scene on March 6: “Our people are required by policy to refrain from discussing fire department actions without proper authorization. By policy, their reports are their response to any questions, outside of court action.”

Chief Parks speaks and the specter of court action is now vocalized. Courtesy, begging and pleading did no good, it seems, as the firemen at the scene will continue to remain anonymous and, interestingly, a friendly chat with a UFO investigator has been averted. One for officialdom.

But before the curious reader might find refreshing the idea of friendly openness and neighborly cooperation from the City of Centerville and her hirelings, there is also the attitude of Centerville’s Assistant City Manager, Judy Gilleland.

Gilleland was unaware of the mass confusion of March 6 despite assuring that she ‘would be’ aware of any such report as was described to her. This assistant City Manager seemed to take little interest or concern in the report of an object hovering over Stingley Elementary School.  10

“I believe I would know about downed power lines and trees and again, have heard nothing of the sort.

“Good news for us,” she said before curiously adding: “perhaps bad news for you?”

Assistant City Manager Gilleland, Fire Chief Parks and Lietenant Lee were all advised that there should be some concern of radioactivity near the site of Stingley Elementary School. These public employees clearly expressed a lethargic lack of motivation for the nature of the event described by witness on March 6. Is this a dangerous complacency that reeks of ultimate disregard for public safety in an uncertain time? Could Homeland Security be any more proud?   11

There may or may not be a firm explanation for the object described over Stingley school, but even if it were to have been some classified military operation (Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton/Beavercreek is less than 19-miles northwest), there should be some valid concern regarding a military operation so low over a residential quarter and near a school. Further, the type of propulsion method used on such a classified project and the possibility of lingering radiation near the school could pose threatening conditions for families and children in the areas of the school, Lakeview Drive, Bethel Road and Linden Road. This is and should be a sober concern.

When notified of this concern and asked to undertake action to check for radiation readings, the public officials of Centerville, Ohio took no safety measures in response to the appeal for caution.

Instead, public hirelings in Centerville have dismissed this episode as a case of ‘wires arcing in high winds.’ 12

An inquiry made with the National Weather Service at Wilmington, Ohio revealed that although there was a high wind alert earlier on March 5th, high winds during the time of the reported incident were not an issue. Between 4 ? 5 a.m. on March 6, 2004, temperatures and conditions in Centerville, Ohio were in the mid 40s with winds out of the Northwest at only 12 miles per hour.  Not quite the high winds previously reported.   13

Further complicating the ‘high wind’ dismissal would be comments from a telephone receptionist at DP & L (Dayton Power & Light) in which the cause of a power outages near Lakeview Drive on March 6 was due to a “circuit lockout” that took place from 5:34 until 10:45 a.m. resulting in service disruption, with no mention of high winds being made.   14

As for the Lakeview Drive resident, he isn’t very comfortable with the situation.

“It’s clear to me that something blew up there where the burnt trees are,” he said. There is no transformer there to blow up. That concerns me, given the magnitude of the explosion.”

The incident early in the morning of March 6, 2004 is real. Multiple callers to police headquarters advised of an unusual situation and upon arrival, emergency responders did address the situation of arcing power lines along with downed tree limbs. But essentially the strangeness of this whole situation rests with the testimony of the Lakeview Drive resident and his wife, both claim a very sensational, physical and intelligently controlled object situated low in the sky near Stingley school. This is reflected on the emergency 9-1-1 police tapes as the caller considers his own words with disbelief at what he is claiming to observe in the sky near his home. While others in the neighborhood were indeed alarmed and also calling police headquarters, they were only reporting generic ‘flashing’ in the sky along with power disruptions. The Lakeview Drive resident further informs that officers with the fire department did tell him they saw this object too, and the instrumentation on their vehicle was oddly effected, Most unfortunately, and also quite curious, is that this cannot be independently verified as per Chief Parks’ unusually harsh reference to court action.

And disturbingly, the Lakeview Drive resident also reports being sick in the last week of March, feeling nausea with a headache, a sickness he would describe as ‘low blood sugar’ even though he has never been diagnosed with this sickness. He also reports concern that his infant has experienced hair loss, although this could be normal as babies sometimes do lose their hair.

Or then again, perhaps it’s just those high winds.

The 9-11 Tapes

The following is a transcript of police tapes obtained by investigator Bruce Forrester, state section director with Ohio Mutual UFO Network (MUFON). The tapes are from the Centerville Police Department and accompany a ‘Call For Service Record’ that states:”Numerous calls on electricity going on and off. Many people saw an explosion type lights in the area of Stingley School. The sky had lit up and they saw something hovering in the sky.”

CALLER 1: Actually it lights up the entire sky, and it is not anywhere where I can see it…

DISPATCHER: I’m sorry, let me get this 9-1-1 call, just a moment. 9-1-1 police, fire and medical?

CALLER 2:  Yes, my name is Dennis Wills (sp?) 174 Linden Drive, Centerville, we’re getting loud or large electrical flashes off the power supply system behind our house?

DISPATCHER: Okay, on the other line I just had someone from Bethel Road and he is seeing the same thing. Isyour electricity flickering?

CALLER 2: Yes, it comes on and off and we’re getting a huge flash. And it’s done this about four times.

DISPATCHER: A flash, where outside?

CALLER 2: Yes outside, and the lights just all came back on again.

DISPATCHER: Is it from your backyard,is it immediately in…

CALLER 2: We think it is immediately close. I was trying to call DP&L, but there’s just a huge, computerized’no person’ phone line.

CALLER 2: I haven’t actually been able to see it actually arc, we just see a huge flash.

CALLER 3: And it blew up, and it was like a bomb going off.

Transcript of police tape by Kenny Young, March 24 2004. The tape seems to have been laid in from multi tracks and the sequence for this transcript has been ‘re-arranged’ from the police tape to reflect “real time” events. On the police tape, Callers 4 and 5 came after Caller 3, when in real time, they were ‘during’ the time frame Caller 3 was ‘on hold.’

Scientific Analysis of the Tree Debris

Background/Objective: An unusual event happened in Centerville, Ohio at approximately 5:30 a.m.Saturday morning March 6, 2004.  Residents saw a UFO apparently interacting with power lines.  The extent of the interaction was explosive innature, and also involved the burning of tree tops.  Flame and ‘glitter’from the trees were purported to continue for several hours after the event. A detailed account of the UFO’s movements and witness ís descriptions can be found on http://home.fuse.net/ufo The object of this analysis is to analyze the exposed tree branches for any unusual or foreign materials.  Following are photographs of the branches.

Conclusions:

1.) No unusual or foreign materials were detected on the charred and unburned areas of the branches.  The results show normal natural products from trees and normal burn byproducts.  The natural products include primarily celluloidal material, some natural ester, a small amount of secondary amide, and trace amounts of possible natural carboxylic acid salts.   Burning byproducts include carbon,calcium carbonate, calcium phosphate, inorganic nitrate, and organic oxidation products, which are primarily carboxylic acid salts.

2.) It is worth noting that there are no radioactive or fluorescing materials.   It is reassuring to know radioactivity is absent.

3.) The results do not confirm or rule out a UFO as a cause of the burning phenomenon.  An interaction with such unknown craft could have resulted in normal burning byproducts, and may not have left any unusual residues or craft deposits.

Procedure:

Samples: Several charred tree branches from the event were sent.

Numerous infrared spectra were obtained from both burn and unburned areas of the tree branches “as received”.  These were obtained on the Nicolet Avatar 360 spectrometer using the Harrick SplitPea ™  sampling accessory.  Some of the selected sampling areas of a branch are shown in the photograph below.

In addition, infrared spectra were also obtained from solvent extractions from the charred and unburned sections of the branches, as well as a control branch.  Progressively polar solvents were used, i.e. hexane, 1:1 acetone:methanol and water. The extracts were weighed for a quantitative estimate of their amounts.

The branches were also examined with a radiation monitor (SE International’s Radiation Alert ™ Monitor 4) and a UV light (Optical Engineering’s Model 22-UV).

Results:

The results of the individual tests done on the branches follow.  These results are summarized in the conclusionssection of this report.

A spectrum of a white material also is typical of white ash from a fireplace.  The major component is calciumcarbonate, and there is a smaller amount of calcium phosphate.  (The carbon is completely gone because of complete oxidation.)  Following is a spectrum of the branch white material and a reference of white ash from the Budinger fireplace for comparison.

Infrared spectra from unburned areas of the branch show typical celluloidal material and natural ester.  For the most part the spectra of the unburned area compare qualitatively to reference control spectra of aged and new wood. (It should be notedthe aged wood additionally contains some mineral silicate (dirt).) However, due to the differences in wood sources and ages of the controls before data acquisition, the quantitative amounts of the components vary. Following are two spectra from unburned branch areas and reference spectra of an aged piece of wood and live wood for comparison.

The “as received” charred and unburned areas of the branches were examined with a UV lamp for any unusual fluorescing material.  None was detected.  These areas were also scanned with a radiation monitor.  There was nothing detected above backgroundradiation.

Expectedly, more material is extracted from the charred area than the unburned area because of the increase insoluble burn byproducts (oxidized organics).  (See infrared analysisbelow.)  Comparison of the control extract amount to the charred and unburned amounts vary and may be accounted for by the differences in wood types and wood age when the extraction was done.  That is, extractions of the branches were done 20 days after the event, and the control was done the same day it was cut.  However, as the infrared analysis shows below, the control compositionally compares closely to the unburned wood.

Hexane Extracts:

Infrared analysis shows the hexane extracts from the unburned area compare to that of the control.  That is, thesame components are present.  These consist of celluloidal materialand natural ester.   However, the quantitative amounts vary.There is less soluble celluloidal material in the unburned branch area.  Following are the spectra of these two extracts.

The hexane extract from the charred areais expectedly different.  This is because of a chemical change as a result of the burning action.  The infrared spectrum shows long chain natural ester and a trace amount of poly(dimethylsiloxane) contamination. This is a common contaminant and is probably from the aluminum pans usedin the experiment.  There is no longer any celluloidal material. The spectrum follows.

1:1 Acetone:Methanol Extracts:

Infrared spectra of the acetone:methanolextract from the unburned area compare well to that of a control. The same components are detected with very subtle quantitative variations. The spectra show mostly soluble celluloidal material and smaller amounts of natural ester and possibly carboxylic acid salts. The spectra follow.

The spectrum of the acetone:methanol extract from the charred area is different and displays highly oxidized carboxylicacid salts.  These are byproducts of the burning (oxidation). The spectrum follows.

Water Extracts:

Infrared analysis of the water extracts from the unburned area and the control show they contain similar components. The amounts appear to vary.  Identified are celluloidal material,carboxylic acid salts, and secondary amide.  A trace amount of poly(dimethylsiloxane)contamination is found uniquely in the unburned extract.

Infrared analysis of the extract from the charred area shows primarily carboxylic acid salts which are definitely a product of the burning.  The spectrum follows.

DATE: Monday morning, January 12, 2004,2:58 a.m.
Location: Yelton St., Amelia, OH (Clermont County)

Summary:

A lighted, disc-shaped object with a hump was seen hovering silently over homes near Amelia, Ohio.  The object, which moved in a bizarre fashion said by witnesses to “drop and stop” near the East Fork vicinity, was sighted by at least three separate persons in Clermont County at 2:58 a.m., early Monday morning, January 12.  Also seen was a shadow that ‘transformed into a ball’ — one person describing a peculiar tannish-brown object, separate from the lighted UFO-which strangely ‘rolled down the side of a house.’ The sighting was first reported by one of the witnesses to the Cincinnati UFO hotline on Monday, investigation of the incident has turned up additional witnesses to the incident.
 

INCIDENT

At 2:58 a.m. on Jan. 12th, 2004, 21 year old student Susan T. (name and phone number on file, deleted for this report) and her neighbor Jeff F. were in Susan’s driveway when they spotted an object high in the sky.  Susan states that the object was hard to describe but said it was disc shaped with a “hump” on top.  Susan said that at one point the object stopped and began to “drop.” She thought it was going to hit the ground.  However, it suddenly stopped and hovered and then it began to drop again.  For several minutes this object “stopped and dropped.”  She finally lost sight of it as it went below roof top level of her house.

Susan went on say that this object must have been “covered in a million lights” and also said there was a red rotating light on the top of the hump and white lights on what she described as the belly or bottom of the object. She claims that the object seemed to turn on its side so that she could see the bottom part. This turning or flipping caused the object to look like it was changing shapes and getting bigger.  It was when the object turned up that the “bottom” was covered in white lights that dimmed then grew brighter and changed patterns.

Susan said that the object was — from her perspective-larger then your thumb at arms length.  She does not know how far away it was but said it may have been over as far as State Route 222. (There are several streets between there; Lumsford and Eiler Lanes.) She said the object may have been in the vicinity of the Phantom Fireworks Factory on Route 125, somewhat to the west of her location.

Susan explained that she felt she was being watched and grew very frightened.  Both she and her neighbor(Jeff F.) sat in the truck and watched this object for over an hour. It was 4:15 a.m. when it finally slowly went down behind her house.

Susan then stated that something very strange happened.  Right after the object went behind her house she saw what appeared to be a “shadow” on her roof that turned into a ball and rolled down the roof.  She said that her neighbor also saw the shadow.

Being very frightened neither person went behind the house to see where the object went.  Susan feels that it did land or almost land.  She also said that they did not see the object leave because she ran in into house after it went below the roof level and did not look anymore.

I asked if there was any adverse reactions by the animals in the area when the object was in view and Susan said that dogs on the other streets were going wild when the object came down close to the ground.

The second witness was then contacted for his comments on the report.  Jeff F., a 45-year old disabled resident of Amelia, states that at 2:58 a.m. on Jan 12th, 2004, he and Susan were sitting in his truck in her driveway when they spotted the object hovering up over behind Susan’s house.  The object was up very high. They watched as this object began to drop very fast.  It then stopped and hovered and then dropped again.  This all happened very quickly.  Jeff F. states that he looked away for a second and the light was back up in the sky in the same spot where they first saw it.  It dropped and stopped again.  This happened two times.  Jeff F. says he does not know how big the object was but it had a slowly rotating red light on top.

I asked if there were other lights and Jeff said that he did not see any other lights nor could he tell the shape. He said they watched this object for an hour while they sat in his truck.

Jeff said this object eventually began to descend behind Susan’s house.  Just as it went out of view a very weird thing happened.  Jeff F. said that a “light tannish brown shadow that turned into a ball about the size of a cantaloupe” rolled down Susan’s roof.

“This happened so fast it was unbelievable,”he said.

When this happened both became frightened and Susan ran in the house.

Both parties told me that there was a garbage truck coming down the street at the time the object was in view but they do not think the garbage man saw the UFO.

INVESTIGATORS COMMENT

Jeff F. and Susan’s stories differ in some aspects.  Both witnesses sounded sincere in their claims. Susan still sounds upset about what she saw and expressed to me that she has received little sleep since her sighting.  I find the incidentwith the “shadow” very curious.  Both people expressed to me that it was “something” other then just a shadow, but “shadow” was the only word they could find to describe it.  It seems that this “shadow”upset both witnesses the most because the object was too far away to cast any reflection on the roof.`

Susan is a 21 year old student at the University of Cincinnati.  She is out of school for the winter butwill be back in school for the spring term.  She is taking courses(30-hours per week) to be become an RN.

45-year old Jeff F. is now disabled but was formerly employed as an industrial engineer.

Susan informed me that she sometimes has trouble sleeping and she and Jeff F. will sit in his truck to talk so as not to wake her family.  That night they had spotted the UFO.

Susan says the object was in the western skies when she first saw it. She says she does not know or could comment on how high the object was, saying she is not very good at judging distances.Jeff also said he could not guess on how high up this object was in darkness.

ADDITIONAL WITNESS

Through various telephone inquires of neighboring residents in the area contact was made with one other possible witness.

A resident from a few blocks away (Eiler Rd) spoke with me by phone (name and phone number on file, withheld from this report) and said that around 3:30 a.m. on Monday morning, January 12, she looked out her window towards the West and saw a bright light in the vicinity of State Route 222.  She did not know how high this objectwas but said it was a very big bright light above the trees. She said that from her perspective, the object was in a westerly direction toward the lake (East Fork).  She could not give a clear estimate of elevation but claimed to have watched this object for a couple of minutes. After it allegedly disappeared she went back to bed.

The time and date of the claimed sighting, plus general location of the alleged object, matches detail furnished by the first two witnesses from Yelton St.

INVESTIGATION

I contacted the Clermont County Sheriff’sDept. at 513-732-2231.  No UFO sightings were reported to them during this time frame.

Next, I contacted the Bethel Police Dept. at 513-734-2256.  No UFO sightings were reported during thistime to them.

Additionally, researcher Kenny young placed a call to the Clermont Sun Newspaper “465 E. Main St., Batavia,Ohio, 513-732-2511.”  He spoke with the editor, Art Hunter. He was told they had not heard of any UFO sightings.

Next, Young contacted the office at East Fork Lake State Park 513-734-4323.  The telephone receptionist,Sandy, said she was completely unfamiliar with UFO sightings around the East Fork State Park vicinity.  She did inquire about the witnesses. She explained that she would pass the information along to the supervisor,others in the office and the park rangers who patrol the lake at night. She took Young’s telephone number and e-mail address and attached them to her report.  Young said if anyone had information about this story to feel free to contact him.

SUMMARY

On August 24, 2004 I spoke at length with a female subject from the Lucasville, Ohio vicinity. This persons name will not be divulged in this report. She contacted the Cincinnati UFO Hotline (513-588-4548) to report recent UFO sightings that have taken place over a period of several days near her area. She said that she has video of a UFO from August 17 and also from the last night and earlier this morning. She candidly admits that the video is of poor quality, of hand-held operation and only showing a ‘light’ in the center of a dark screen.

We spoke for over 1-hour and discussed her concerns of UFO activity near her home (Crosspoint of Blue Run and Morris Lane) on August 17, August 19 and earlier this evening (August 24th). She said that her road runs perpendicular to Route 23 and that her home is situated 6-miles from the Ohio Correctional Institute Prison Facilityat Lucasville. The subject said that in addition to herself, there are 4-witnesses to a huge, spherical object in the eastern sky during several episodes of unusual UFO activity taking place over the past few nights and earlier this evening. She also complained of a headache and stomach ache for 3-days after the first sighting of August 17.

ABOUT THE SUBJECT:

Lisa XXXXX (name deleted for privacy)said that she was stationed at Brooks AFB (San Antonio, TX facility which merged with Lackland AFB) for 5-year as a secretary. She is currently disabled(with a birth defect on her left leg) and taking care of a family of 3 children ages 12 to 9. Her youngest son has bipolar disorder.

Her roommate, Sheila XXXXX (also deleted for privacy, on-file) also has a 12-year old daughter and her visiting friend Della XXXXX (also deleted for privacy, on-file) is also a witness to the UFO activity.

AUGUST 17 UFO

The episode of UFO sightings began on Monday, August 17th at about 9:30 p.m. when the witness and her friends Della (who moved in from Athens) and Sheila, all over 30-years old, had been present for a social visit. The three were also concerned about local thieves who had recently been stealing yard property.

While on periodic lookout (sitting on her living room couch inside 2-mobile homes put together to form one home),and looking directly south out her living room window, Lisa noticed what appeared to be bright headlights on a white mailbox post. They continued to watch the mailbox post as it was illuminated for about 30-minutes, taking note that the angle of the lights seemed to originate from the east and an upper direction, before finally asking her roommate to ask
where the reflection of light was coming from. They then went to the west end of the kitchen to look out the window and saw reflective dot-like spots on the tail end of her mini-van parked outside.  The reflectivity was seen on the glass as well as the car itself, and the roof of her van lit up an almost ‘bluish’ color. The witness advised that the entire road in front of the house was also illuminated by a ‘blue haze. ‘The blue color was also reflecting off a propane tank and Lisa, Sheila and Della decided to step outside to investigate the source of the light reflections on the various yard items.

When outside, they cautiously looked around and – according to Lisa – did not think to look toward the sky.They took it for granted that the source of the light was somehow originating from a car on a road. At this point, according to Lisa, they noticed a subtle light change that seemed to become orange-like. The witness looked toward the direction of her mother’s security light situated nearby (there was some kind of huge surge of power through the security light, causing it to glow 4-times brighter than usual and out of focus), trying to find the source of illumination on the tank, and at that point saw pulsing lights in the eastern sky. Lisa said this was somewhat of a shock to her. The bluish-white lights would pulse darker and lighter, the witness said it was like a ‘heartbeat’ and you could depend on the next pulse, not at all like a blink. This was one solid, physical object in the sky, out further than the security light and past the woods, over a tree line and no more than 10-miles distant.

Lisa said this object was visible for hours and the witness observed it taking different positions across the sky, zipping from place to place. It was comprised of several lights and could be seen to rotate, having a white fog about it and at times would be comprised of 3 or 4-lights, but having no sound.

Although the object would move from position to position and return again, they primarily looked at the object when it was in position toward the eastern sky as if it was localized toward Jackson, Ohio (going east on 139).

The witnesses decided to maintain their position and watch this activity for several hours into the early morning time frame. As they listened to a loud chorus of dogs barking from all different areas around her, they also debated what the object was and made an attempt to capture the object on videotape and watched as beams of light were ‘thrown’ or reflected through the air.

Closer to 4:30 a.m., one aircraft comprised of a triangular-shaped light configuration came into view after the witnesses heard a distinct jet-like low, dull roar or rumble. This triangular object,having dozens of pulsating multi-colored lights all around its surface,approached from the west and flew straight overhead at a lower elevation than the first white object, then would change direction and travel southeast.The duration of this sighting was around 60-seconds and then the object would return along the same path, making a direction change at the same estimated position and return to the
west, but looking behind its path and watching its departure, the witness saw many bright glowing star-like objects that pulsed white.

Lisa explained that she was concerned about what might be going on in the Lucasville area and had asked if others had reported sightings. She had heard of local UFO reports before but said that this distinct episode began during the week of the 19th.

On the 19th, Lisa said that she watched a huge, luminescent white cylindrical shape also during late night hours.She attempted to videotape the light source, but on camera its focus is off and the camera was not fastened to a tripod. Lisa said the object looked like a ‘hotdog,’ and acknowledges being an amateur videographer.

CREATURE SIGHTING

During a bizarre sighting that took place several hours before our telephone discussion, Lisa expressed concern about something that may have landed across the road from her residence earlier and went on to express her perception of a humanoid figure seen in the darkness of her backyard within a few hours of the object ‘landing’in the field.

Around 9:30 p.m. (Tuesday, August 24th),Lisa and her friend Sheila felt there was a creature near their home.

“Jesse’s bedroom points toward that field to the east where we’ve seen all this activity behind moms,” she said.

“Shortly after this small light came down in the field across the road, some distance away, we all sat around and were on the lookout for what would happen next. Just a little while after this I heard a rustle and saw a bush move to the left, and that whole area to my left is nothing but woods, brush and hills. I don’t know what it was, but I was tuned in to what was going to happen next and I saw the brush move and I saw eyes or something reflecting light. The security light is between Jesse’s window and that bush, and Jess described (roommates daughter, 13-yrs. Old), the same thing.

Lisa said the experience has been very frustrating and cannot say for certain that the figure spotted was a woodland animal or otherwise related to the UFO sighting. She said that to pass the time, she has been working with the children to craft aluminum foil hats to make light of the situation, and they have been sitting around the house wearing aluminum foil on her head. Despite the effort to find humor in the situation, Lisa said they are seriously alarmed.

I asked if I could talk with Sheila concerning the suspected landing of a UFO and the sighting of this ‘figure’outside.

Sheila then came to the phone and introduced herself to me, explaining: “Okay, there were these lights that came down to ground level, I would say they were lined up almost looks like on aboard, but there are 4 lights together and when they flash they go alternately top right to bottom left, then reverse. Then before you know it, two bright flashes of light go flying into the field and into the forest there to the left, which would be into our woods, opposite to where this thing would be behind the tree line.”

Sheila said that after this “board of lights” would flicker and flash, it seemed to descend into the field where it was no longer visible. She said that she maintained an alert observation,looking out for what was to follow and that some time had passed before the suspected ‘creature’ was sighted (perhaps 15 to 20-minutes).

Sheila said that this ‘creature’ was engaged in a rapid scurrying or running through the field across the road and into the immediate yard in front of the house. She could not discern with certainty whether it was 2 or 4-legged (walking upright) due to darkness,but felt it was walking upright and also felt herself to be keenly aware that there was a physical presence outside as she watched through the window.

She spoke of the creature in the ‘past tense’ method, stressing that she could not presently see it while talking with me by telephone.

“It looked as if I could see eyes in the bushes,” Sheila said. “It looked like a large white head. I could not see a body, it sort of blended into the bush, but the eyes are reflecting the security light, like an animal looking at you in the woods, but I do not know if this was an animal.”

Sheila also repeated that her friend Lisa saw something land in the field and also claimed to have seen something running in the darkness.

“Whatever this was, it was running so fast, that it somehow blended with the environment,” Sheila said.

Sheila estimated the distance of between 20 to 25-feet from the window to the bush where the suspected “eyes” were fixed at one point.

Lisa returned to the phone and I tried to ask follow up questions, but the two were talking excitedly and saying so much that taking notes became difficult at this point. Both Lisa and Sheila felt that the creature was outside the residence while we spoke.

Lisa said that she did not feel threatened,and I asked if they had a flashlight or something to illuminate the area.Sheila gathered her courage as we spoke and I  waited on the phone as she walked outside to investigate the immediate area near the house and nearby bushes. She was away from the phone for about 3-minutes before turning to inform that she could not see anything in the bushes and perhaps”it” was gone (I talked with Lisa on the phone while Sheila had investigated).

I will note for the record that neither Lisa nor Sheila seemed to reference the ‘creature’ as an alien, but clearly expressed their concern that this object was somehow related to the sighting of a UFO.  They did not say the word ‘alien’ and when discussing the creature, they used careful language and several times each one closed their sentence or statement with an upturned ‘question mark’ accent to their expression.

Lisa went on to explain that she had called The Scioto County Sheriff’s Office to report the first UFO sighting from the other morning. Lisa said that the receptionist at police headquarters took her name, address and phone number and said that someone would callback, but Lisa said nobody has called and she doesn’t think her call to the police department was taken very seriously.

When asked of any other unusual activity taking place locally, Lisa said that on August 18,  there was a very strange thunderstorm with continual, rolling thunder and ferocious, strobing lightning that hit her area. This storm was reported by a reporter who writes with the Shawnee Sentinel and at one point, the thunder sounded like a ‘thud’ that hit the top part of the living room, making a sound similar to that of skittering or small feet.

After our lengthy discussion, I told Lisa of my interest in UFOs sighted in the Lucasville area and my interest
in the prison facility there. Lisa speculated that prison guards at the Ohio Correctional Institute should
have been able to see the UFOs that she observed. I explained my interest in following up with Lisa and
Sheila and having a look at her videotape and better understanding the nature of the sighting activity. I
also asked that they keep me posted if any more UFOs are sighted, or if they feel there is something unusual taking place outside. I gave her my telephone number and advised them to undertake extreme caution and to keep
the telephone number to the police department close at hand, and asked that if they should call the police
again to also call me. Lisa explained that she was exhausted and frustrated from this experience.

INVESTIGATOR COMMENT

The witness did not offer any indication of an interest or proclivity toward things paranormal or faith-based. She did explain of her military career and was most helpful with details of her busy family and personal life. The telephone conversation was lengthy and I explained my occasional inability to take notes as complete and thorough as I would have liked as she had a lot to report and would often explain multiple things and sightings at once. She did stop and help me take notes at times, some sentences pertaining to a description of the UFO I would stop and read to her, asking that she correct me on certain notes.

After the discussion, I was of the impression that the witness was basically honest and frustrated with the exhausting circumstances; perhaps believing that UFOs were active in some clandestine or secretive way in the darkness near her residence. Her frustration might have been compounded by her not having an answer to account for the sightings.

As for the sighting of the object seen for a lengthy duration on August 17 that she videotaped, this may fit the description of a routine star or planet when taken into account misperception potential. However, the traits such as ‘pulsing’ and the object changingposition or ‘roaming’ from place to place over a duration do not fit that explanation.

The perception of a ‘creature’ is something I cannot account for, only by speculation that a woodland forest creature such as a deer or even a bear may have been in the vicinity and some situational cross-interpretation developed in which Lisa and Sheila might have interpreted the slight observation or indistinct sighting of this creature into the UFO situation that had already been underway. The indistinct creature,elusively running, was seen in darkness and no discernible form could be observed, and nothing immediately suggests this was any intelligence or related with the sighting of an object thought to have landed moments earlier.

ADDITION

Cincinnati researcher Donnie Blessing made inquiries with the Scioto County Sheriff’s office and was able to determine that the drug surveillance helicopter used in the county was operational in the vicinity during the time frame in question, but not active only during daylight hours – not at night. This rules out the helicopteras one possible explanation.

By E-mail advisement, a 34-year old resident of Lancaster, Ohio has reported a UFO sighting by 3-witnesses.The claimant, a 36-year old friend and his 17-year old son observed the object before a thunderstorm hit the area around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday,August 28, 2004, they observed an unusual object in the skies directly over the city of Lancaster, Ohio.

“This may sound nuts,” the witness wrote,”but right before the storm hit at around 7:30 P.M, I saw something right over the city of Lancaster, no lights at all.

“It looked like a “V” but it did not move up or down, but it did drift from North-East to South-East, AGAINST the wind, before coming to a stop, seeming to stay in place.  It was a VERY dark shape.

“At first I thought it was a parachute,but who in their right mind would jump with a  thunder storm in their face? This object made NO sound at all, and I watched it for about 7 to 8 minutes.”

The 34-year old individual reporting the sighting is married with a 14-year old son and worked as an electrical contractor for 10-years included his full name (which is not divulged in this report, contact info on-file – KY), and also added that the object:”looked at times like it would invert, looking like a rectangle during the rotation, and then look like an upside down “V”.

Through 3 question and answer E-mail sessions with the witness, he said that he was standing on West 5th Avenue and looking east, directly over Lancaster when watching the unusual object.He lost sight of it when the clouds ‘overtook it’ and openly inquired if this object were  a balloon, how it did not move with the wind? Theclaimant also felt that if this object were somehow tethered, it must havebeen situated at Anchor Hocking Glass Factory on about a 1,000 feet ofrope.

The witness was so impressed by the sighting that around 9:30 or 10:00 p.m. of Saturday, August 28, he contacted two law enforcement agencies; The Lancaster City Police and The Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office. Neither agency could supply additional information and had received no reports. The witness also took the step of contacting the Fairfield County Airport in Lancaster, Ohio by E-mail, inquiring if they might have information for him about tethered balloons over this location.He has not yet received a reply from the airport.

“I was thinking about the best way to describe this, when it hit me,” he said. “If  you have a flip open cell phone, open it up until it forms a ‘V’ when  looking at it from the side. Now rotate it , so that the face of it is  facing you, and imagine you cant see the depth of the ‘V’, just the  outline. There is the rectangle. Now rotate it all the way down until it  looks likean upside down ‘V.’

COMMENT

Separately, a series of UFO sighting reports emerged from Lucasville, Ohio (Scioto County) on August 17 and 24th involving the sighting of an unusual triangular shaped object seen in the vicinity of The Ohio Correctional Institute. Thus far there are no additional reports to supplement the Lancaster sighting.

The following was written by the late UFO Researcher Kenny Young:

The Norwood Searchlight Incident of 1949, as it has been called, is an outstanding series of 10 visual sightings of a strange aerial object that took place in or near the Norwood, Ohio area from August 19th of 1949 to March 10th of 1950.
The alleged observation of a massive object by searchlight operator Donald R. Berger, and meticulously detailed in his logs, remain one of the more curious events in UFO history.

This case is exceptional not only because of the dramatic event reported, but also because of the caliber of witnesses involved. The series of incidents were said to have been witnessed by civilians, by clergy, by scientists, by police officers and military officials.

Photos were taken on October 23, 1949 by Norwood Police Sgt.Leo Davidson, and 2 reels of 25-ft. motion picture film were kept in the possession of Reverend Gregory Miller, last seen at WCPO Channel 9 TV studios in 1952.

Still frames from the movie film were given to investigator Leonard Stringfield and published in his book “SAUCER POST 3-0 BLUE.” That photo from his book was scanned and enhanced for this report. Using this same photo, an earlier analysis had been made by Dr. Richard Haines.

An additional photo was found in the possession of RAY STANFORD, who states: “This is several generations down from the original16 mm movie film, but it seems to rather clearly show that while the beam was projecting several degrees away from the object, when it got within a certain event horizon of the object, it was simply bent or ‘pulled’ the beam directly into the object, seemingly bending it about26.5 degrees, as measured in the photo plane! This frame has always amazed me since I first saw it in the mid-’50s. Several persons, back then, who had seen the actual movie said that at one time the object seems, indeed, to ‘suck’ the beam squarely into it!

“I have included two versions with special filtration. The second (middle) image makes the dramatic bend of the light beam especially clear and easy to measure (on the top of the beam). The second (last) version seems to show what might be interpreted to be a focus effect of the light within the beam. Note the dark diamond shape (bright in the original) between the object and the place where the beam bends.”

ORWOOD AND PROJECT GRUDGE
Could someone help explain if any reference to the 1949 Norwood Searchlight/UFO incident does or does not appear in Project Grudge files?

The Norwood case involves 10 visual sightings by multiple civilian, clergy, police, scientist and military witnesses over a 7-month duration, facilitated by the use of a powerful searchlight ran by Army Sgt. Donald R. Berger. The first sighting took place during “The Jitney Carnival” of 1949 and witnessed by hundreds The following morning, three local newspapers- The Cincinnati Post, The Cincinnati Enquirer and The Cincinnati Times Star- all had articles regarding ‘strange lights’ and ‘comets seen over the city’ from the previous evening.

There was an explanation for the occurrence, according to one local newspaper. The Albee Theater in nearby Cincinnati, accompanied by the Ss. Peter & Paul Church in Norwood, were operating searchlights. It was said that the hundreds of persons calling newspapers and weather bureau officials were simply observing these searchlight beams ‘bouncing off of clouds.’

Despite this, the sightings began in earnest after 11:00 p.m. (Berger logs indicate that he observed the UFO from 8:15 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.) and continued to flummox Cincinnati residents until 6:30 a.m. the following morning. It seems unlikely searchlights would be operating all night long until daylight, and further still, one weather bureau official recounted his early-morning observation of two objects that looked like “two weather ceiling balloons” that weren’t moving despite a wind speed of 25 to 32-miles per hour.

Even the Berger logs indicate the possible presence of a second searchlight from that evening, whether Berger knew there was another searchlight at work or not. “When I moved the searchlight away, the object continued to glow,” Berger wrote in his 1949 logs that were later kept in the possession of Rev. Gregory Miller until 1954, when he imparted them to UFO investigator Leonard Stringfield.

Meanwhile, during the festival in Norwood, Robert Linn, the managing editor of the Cincinnati Post, along with church pastor Rev. Gregory Miller, were certain that Berger’s searchlight had found and been bouncing off of “some definite object.” They entered into agreement and reported the situation to intelligence officials at Wright Field in nearby Dayton, Ohio.

The August 19th episode is a mass-witness case, reported in all three local newspapers of Cincinnati, Ohio, a city not far south of Dayton, home of the airbase. A possible explanation is publicly toyed with: the deception caused by two searchlight beams strolling the dark skies. It seems as if Grudge folks would have likely been aware of the events at Norwood on August 19, 1949 – either from all the reportage or from the direct report to the airbase itself, by Robert Linn and Rev. Miller. Why does the Norwood Case not factor in to their investigation when, in fact, far ‘lesser’ cases may have been prominently addressed? If Project Grudge had sought to dismiss UFO sightings as psychological phenomena, they had a good case with the Norwood searchlight events at this stage of the situation.

This is one of those older cases that doesn’t show up very often in the literature. And most people really don’t understand what happened in Norwood in August of 1949, or especially in the month of October. This wasn’t a cloud or weather balloon caught in a searchlight. Description: I had a UFO sighting over the Eastwood Field in Southeastern Warren, Ohio.

I saw a small circle spinning them other more bigger circle with all kinds of light in motion forming a waving type of motion forming different angles and shapes.

I also drew pictures.

UFOs NorthWest Note: The witness later sent a video of the object(s).

The video doesn’t show the objects spinning, but it does show a non-flashing light that repeatedly gets brighter, vanishes and brightens.

I had a UFO experience in 1983 or 1984. I will never forget it . I was working at whirlpool in MARION Ohio living with my parents in the country in Edison Ohio. I drove an old white truck that had tool bins all around it. I worked second shift and I was driving home the back roads on MARION Edison road. It was summer time and the sky was full of stars. A very warm beautiful night. I love looking at the stars. I was about to turn on my road Canaan road 60 but I decided to drive around the block to road 28 I was hoping to see a falling star.

To my amazement I seen a falling star coming towards me and at the same time. My truck died the lights and radio turned off and I was sitting on road 60 aways away between two houses. The time was around 1230 am. Anyways here comes the star towards me and I thought what’s gonna happen when it hits my truck because it wouldn’t start. I was so scared. But when it got two feet above the hood in front of me it stopped mid air.

I knew then it wasn’t a star. It was silent and so bright I could barely look at it. It zig-zagged so fast and moved up an down an side to side very fast I could barely keep track of it. Well I just sit still looking straight ahead but shaking from fright wondering what it was gonna do. It was the size of a football. Four pointed so bright white. Brighter than head lights turned on high. Well it zigzagged in front of me then to my side of the truck I locked my doors an rolled my windows up before it came to my side. Then it went up and down all the way around my truck like it was looking for something. Like it was x-raying the toolboxes. I watched from my rear view mirror as it went around to my passenger side.

But when it got their it zoomed back up so fast it looked like a star again I started my truck and it followed me home.

I called the police an one came. He took the report but the Ido was still looking like a star so nothing was done about it. I looked at the clock and it was two hours later than it should of been. I’ve always wondered if I was taken for two hours. I would be hypnotized if I could and a lie detector test.

I was coming home from work last night and saw these lights and got a photo before they disappeared. It was far I zoomed in for the pic.

It was moving west too East Mabey 45 or 50 degree angle or so as far as speed I have no idea I only saw it for about 30 to 35 sec before it went out of sight. Id say just a guess 1000 yards or so away hard to judge that at night.

That is how it looked when I took the photo.

It was taken about 3 miles north from a town called Marengo, Ohio on County Road 25 on  at around 7:30 in the evening.
