Witness Testimony

The witness submitted the following report:

“Hi, I just want someone to talk to about this.I saw a UFO… Its even weird to say. But what scares me is the meaning of it? Thats what I need to explore or talk about. What does it mean?

It was noon a sunny summer day. I was out in the woods with my brother. I decided to get up on the road for a better view of where we were to continue further when I saw a disc, like to plates against each other hovering in the sky a few hundred meters away from me. It just sat there in the sky not moving. It wasnt hard to realise it was strange, this was UFOish so after maybe what felt like minutes I ran back to my brother, told him to go get the camera, because its a UFO, he could hear I meant what I said even though he mocked me at first, but I told him and he ran with me back to the road, when He saw it he got scared and ran back for the camera as I stayed to watch it and keep track if it moved. But It just calmly sat there… then for some reason it started moving, straight to the right, in a line, not up nor down, just straight in a line… after a few meters to the right it started go back to the left again and moved maybe equal amount of space to the side, then it went back to the right once more and that when it happend, when my doubts turned into fear and awe at the same time. It Swoshed, I dont know if it was further away or down behind the trees, but it swooshed with a speed that was ungraspable zig zag over the sky downwards until it dissapeared over the tree tops. Nothing known in the world, nor any military technology Im aware of can move like that, not only the way it moved but that speed was insane. To be frank that scares me, if it now is a military tech, then that country would have won whatever battle they decided to embark on… yet if its not, that is even more scary, gets me thinking a lot about what else might be true, what else might exist, all these crazy conspiracies and ideas, what if what people say is real actually is… Thats why im writing you guys? Perhaps you have an experience, perhaps you know something? Now we all just look down into our phones, I never even use mine anymore. If me, one little guy saw that, wtf… im no special at all, so what else has been seen, what else might be true… f**k… either way.. this is not good. Whatever it is, it has freakish engine power and that is scary in a million ways.”

At this moment in time the witness has not responded to further contact by email after the initial submission, therefore the lack of evidence makes it difficult to assess the case.

Using just the written report it is very difficult to form a conclusion especially taking into account the points below:

• No specific location in Sweden was submitted
• No video / photographic material
• No additional contact information other than email address.
• No other witness statements

I followed up this report with Johan @ Swedish UFO Group https://www.facebook.com/ufosverige/ – No sightings or dates matched their records.

At this moment in time the witness has not responded to further contact by email after the initial submission. Therefore the lack of specific details makes it difficult to assess the case.

Using just the short written report and a dark photograph its difficult to form a conclusion.

Photo analysis revealed an issue between Date of sighting and photo creation date which was taken after the date of the sighting:

Conclusion

Taking into account no further contact with witness (only email available) and no specific location in Theodore Alabama my conclusion is inconclusive due to lack of specific details and a photograph that is open to interpretation.

Using just the video evidence and no further contact with the witness since initial report submission, I will attempt to identify what the witnesses observed based on the following facts along with the witness statement.

The footage provided makes it difficult to ascertain direction, height, speed or reference for scale. 

My first approach was to scan the metadata contained within the video, all seems ok and intact.

The video shows a cluster of white and red lights with a flashing sequence. In my opinion they closely resemble aircraft lights and if you listen carefully you can hear some aircraft engine noise. The light formation and flashing sequence indicate landing / takeoff lights.

Google Maps was used to locate the witness sighting position, and to search the local area for airports.

Stellarium was used for the night sky date of 08/02/2018 5:00 AM to check for celestial objects. Direction of sighting unknown, therefore N,E,S,W images are included. See images below.

Flight Radar historical data could be used in this case, however the direction of the sighting is unknown.

Conclusion

Based on the witness description and video evidence, I am inclined to say this is likely an aircraft either in approach to land or climbing after takeoff from one of the airports around Springfield, Ohio.

“I went to my patio door to let my cat in when I looked up to the west and saw what I first thought was a satellite, or a large bright star. As I watched it, it occurred to me that if it was a satellite then why is it still, so just guessed it was a star but was way too bright? Then as I was thinking this it started moving to the SW I suddenly got a bit scared so I rushed back in and got my mobile phone and followed the bright light, some of the movements are me moving the phone to fallow as it was pretty fast, there was also a airplane in the distance coming in on the South, this object made no noise and had no flashing lights on it, I did wonder if it was the space station but it was way too low for that and don’t know if it would have passed over our house. It then went East 85’0 into a cloud? But there were no clouds SW when I first saw the object it was very clear in that area and a few stars out. Sorry for the delay but your email went into my junk mail. Thank you for getting back to me. Kind regards Andrea”

“Hi Paul 
thank you for getting back to me, when I went out the patio door I first saw the object light in the W my door faces SW .
what a saw was a very bright large light couldn’t say it had a shape it was just very bright. It was very clear with lots of stars , that’s when at first I thought it was a star it was stationary but after a few seconds it started to move heading east, so I followed the bright object and it went into what was a cloud I would say maybe north east , I stopped filming but it didn’t come out and the cloud eventually went? I must say I was very shocked and disappointed that it didn’t reappear. My husband was working away and there was only me in the house, I don’t know if anyone else in our area saw anything? The air temperature I was not aware of I was in shock really, I was outside in the garden following the object so in clear view. Kind regards Andrea”

forget to describe the cloud it was a creamy white almond color I would have said it was almost like a oval shape or kinda pear shape, you couldn’t see in the video because my camera wouldn’t see because of the dark same for the stars that were out as well, I have been out most evening since trying to see if it comes again. yes I had to follow the bright object starting from the west when I first spotted it, I wasn’t aware of anything like dust or debris , i have re-watched the video and I am sure the hedge in the garden is swaying , if you look as I am following the light with my phone it’s SE the object goes out of view because this is a very tall hedge and then we see it again before it goes into the cloud. The main road that passes through our housing area is one block away to the front and the back of our house, hope this makes sense? If you go on google maps you can see where I am and what I mean (REMOVED) England. Hope I have answered your question.

I will attempt to identify what the witnesses observed based on the following facts along with the witness video and statement.

I have created 2 images based on the witness’s testimony, (created using the multiple email replies above) that lead up to the ‘start’ of the video footage recorded by the witness. Please note that the video does not contain stars in contrast to visuals.

Stellarium was used for the night sky around the Chesterfield area on 07/29/2018 11:00 PM

There were satellite trajectories in the witness’s field of view, however its difficult to confirm whether they were visible to the naked eye at that time.

I checked the meta data in the video file and noticed the creation date was 20/09/2018 at 18:33 and not 07/29/2018 11:00 PM

Weather at time of sighting sourced from Time and Date 07/29/2018 11:00 PM 

Google maps revealed 3 airports close by.

Conclusion

Based on the witness description and video, without further sufficient evidence I am unable to make a solid conclusion. Looking at the witness’s video it’s difficult to determine the movement of the light and the movement caused by the witness. Therefore I speculate this is most likely a commercial aircraft, however unable to determine.

Another alleged UFO sighting near Charlotte has appeared on Facebook and in this case, it was posted by a husband and father who says he doesn’t necessarily believe in UFOs.

Javion Hill, 35, of Kings Mountain, North Carolina, says he took several photos of the object during a storm on the night of Aug. 18, as he drove on U.S. 74 southwest of Charlotte.

The images feature something square hovering above the treeline, with its edges fringed in lights. Hill told the Charlotte Observer the craft frightened him to the point that he didn’t sleep that night.

“I was on my way home with my wife on the speaker phone, and it looked like there was a tornado coming, so I was trying to take a picture of the clouds for my wife,” says Hill.

“But then I saw something that wasn’t normal and I was, like: ‘Oh my god, what is that?’ I started trying to take as many pictures of it as possible while I was driving.”

Hill says he pulled over at the next exit to try and get video, but the aircraft had vanished. A heavy rain followed instantly, he said.

Hill says what he saw is actually bigger than what is seen in the photo.

“ was worried for my safety,” he said. “I didn’t believe in UFOs until that moment.”

I will attempt to identify what the witnesses observed based on the following facts along with witness statements. (including photos x 2 sourced from the Charlotte Observer and Daily Mail)

The first original photograph has been enlarged. Next to that on the right hand side is a tweaked version of the original photograph. The levels and contrast have been tweaked.

The second original photograph has been enlarged. Next to that on the right hand side is a tweaked version of the original second photograph. The levels and contrast have been tweaked.

My first approach was to zoom / enlarge the 2 photographs and tweak the levels and contrast. It became obvious that the “UFO” was in fact a reflection.

The clouds and sky were visible through the reflections in both photographs.

The next challenge was to work out what the reflection was.

John Greenewald determined that the “light reflection” was possibly from a self illuminating phone case, which after researching the different types of illuminating cases very quickly became the most plausible assumption.

I researched the local area around  U.S. 74 southwest of Charlotte just to get an idea of location, see Google map below.

Conclusion

Based on the witness report and the 2 photographs it is extremely likely that the UFO is in fact a reflection of a self illuminating cell phone case.

The case could have been on the dashboard or somewhere else inside the car to create the reflection.

The following was submitted by the witness:

“On the night of May 30th, 2018, I was driving home from the gym with my wife and we saw a bright light in the sky that initially we thought was the moon. It was really far away and very high in the sky. We then saw the object coming closer at a fast rate of speed and was rapidly descending. It was big and definitely was not a plane. The size, speed, and flight path of the object also made it highly unlikely to be a drone. It was big and was really fast. We then realized it was not the moon. It had three very bright flashing lights. my wife got out her phone and tried to record it. As she started to record, it disappeared and went dark. A few seconds later it reappeared and that is where our video picks up. It changed flight patterns a few times and then sped off behind us and out of sight. There was a car behind us, so I was unable to turn around and follow it. The lights were very bright and it seemed to hover a few times before it sped off. Please reach out to me if you have any questions.”

I will attempt to identify what the witnesses observed based on the following facts along with witness statements. (including video) I created a visual representation based on the witness’ testimony.

Note: *Witness has not responded to emails to clarify any details or errors etc with the image*

Based on the video evidence it is difficult to make a clear assesment on what the lights are. 

My first approach was to scan the metadata contained within the video which contradicts the date and time of the sighting.  Perhaps the cell phone was incorrectly setup or time zone related, but it is something that needs to be pointed out.

1) The footage provided makes it difficult to ascertain direction, height, speed or reference for scale.

2) I researched the local area around route 355 and discovered a number of gyms as the witness mentioned they were returning from one (but which one?) I have indicated on the map route 355 which the witnessed traveled along but its unknown at which position along route 355 the witness was.

3) I researched the local area around route 355 and discovered a number of airports and have indicated on the map route 355 in relation to surrounding airports.

4) The 3 lights visible in the video appear to resemble taxi or landing lights possibly from Boeing 7777 or aircraft that have that particular configuration. Original image sourced from metabunk.org on this similar topic of light clusters.

Researching Stellarium for known celestial objects on 30-05-2018 @ 22:00 revealed multiple celestial objects in the sky, however it would be difficult to speculate what was visible by eye at that time due to the weather and other atmospheric conditions during the sighting.

Conclusion

Based on the witness description (as of this report 28/08/2018) and video, without further sufficient evidence or details prior to the video I am unable to make a solid conclusion, but believe this is most likely a commercial aircraft on approach or take off from nearby airports.  

Flight Radar historical data could be used to research flights along route 355, but without the location of the witness during the sighting no further progress can be made.

Witness Testimony

I saw an object as high above the planes as they were above me. It was shaped like a bright red jelly bean. Gently rocking from side to side. It took off slowly upright leaving a bright spiral / corkscrew tail. Then suddenly shot off at an angle, again leaving a red trail and disappeared.

Researching Stellarium for known celestial objects on 06-10-2011 @ 9:30 pm revealed multiple celestial objects in the sky, however it would be difficult to speculate what was visible by eye at that time due to the weather and other atmospheric conditions during the sighting.

Conclusion

Based on the witness description and lack of sufficient evidence I am unable to make a solid conclusion. As the sighting took place in 2011, historical weather and satellite tracking are not readily available for the location and year.

The witness testimony is derived from two witnesses, outlined below.

Original witness report from Rev Dennis Wright

On the 8th April 2018 at 6.15 p.m. I had a feeling to look in the sky were Iive in {Thornton \Cleveleys. Blackpool,Lancashire,England.} As I did this I saw a object that looked like 3 dots in a shape like a upside down V As I watched it looked to go smaller and higher in the sky. 6.25 pm the object just appeared in one line Top to bottom there was lights coming from it,top.was metallic blue. Middle was silver\yellow.and the bottom part was light orange {flashing} After a few seconds want invisible before coming visible again. As I then looked to the right came what looked like a long multi coloured submarine.It was as if it had been called.{As I live in sea side the sub looked to come from the sky over the sea}
Shortly after the objects disappeared in a brown circular cloud then the sky turned blue and clear again

2nd witness report from Rev Christine Wright

When my husband first see the V shaped object in the sky he was in the sun lounge. To get a better look he went outside to see if it better.A few minutes later I saw the vertical block with flashing lights before it went invisible for a few seconds, reappearing in the same place until a sausage shaped vertical object appeared with flashing lights. This vanished after a few minutes into a brownish round cloud with a hole in the middle. (edited)

The submarine/sausage seemed to appear from over the sea and was horizontal. This was not flashing like the V shaped one at the time. At first my wife could not see fully from inside the sun lounge so like myself she came into the gazebo. This is without Windows and is fully open As we call it the garden. (edited) (submarine / sausage confirmed horizontal)

Researching Stellarium for know celestial objects on 08-04-2018 @ 6:15 pm revealed multiple celestial objects in the sky, however it would be difficult to speculate what was visible by eye at that time due to the weather (cloudy with sunny conditions) throughout the sighting.

Conclusion

Based on the two witness descriptions and lack of sufficient evidence I am unable to make a solid conclusion. At the time of writing this I hope to receive replies to my inquiries from the aviation, media and UFO organisations….
