“I went to my patio door to let my cat in when I looked up to the west and saw what I first thought was a satellite, or a large bright star. As I watched it, it occurred to me that if it was a satellite then why is it still, so just guessed it was a star but was way too bright? Then as I was thinking this it started moving to the SW I suddenly got a bit scared so I rushed back in and got my mobile phone and followed the bright light, some of the movements are me moving the phone to fallow as it was pretty fast, there was also a airplane in the distance coming in on the South, this object made no noise and had no flashing lights on it, I did wonder if it was the space station but it was way too low for that and don’t know if it would have passed over our house. It then went East 85’0 into a cloud? But there were no clouds SW when I first saw the object it was very clear in that area and a few stars out. Sorry for the delay but your email went into my junk mail. Thank you for getting back to me. Kind regards Andrea”

thank you for getting back to me, when I went out the patio door I first saw the object light in the W my door faces SW .
what a saw was a very bright large light couldn’t say it had a shape it was just very bright. It was very clear with lots of stars , that’s when at first I thought it was a star it was stationary but after a few seconds it started to move heading east, so I followed the bright object and it went into what was a cloud I would say maybe north east , I stopped filming but it didn’t come out and the cloud eventually went? I must say I was very shocked and disappointed that it didn’t reappear. My husband was working away and there was only me in the house, I don’t know if anyone else in our area saw anything? The air temperature I was not aware of I was in shock really, I was outside in the garden following the object so in clear view. Kind regards Andrea”

forget to describe the cloud it was a creamy white almond color I would have said it was almost like a oval shape or kinda pear shape, you couldn’t see in the video because my camera wouldn’t see because of the dark same for the stars that were out as well, I have been out most evening since trying to see if it comes again. yes I had to follow the bright object starting from the west when I first spotted it, I wasn’t aware of anything like dust or debris , i have re-watched the video and I am sure the hedge in the garden is swaying , if you look as I am following the light with my phone it’s SE the object goes out of view because this is a very tall hedge and then we see it again before it goes into the cloud. The main road that passes through our housing area is one block away to the front and the back of our house, hope this makes sense? If you go on google maps you can see where I am and what I mean (REMOVED) England. Hope I have answered your question.

I will attempt to identify what the witnesses observed based on the following facts along with the witness video and statement.

I have created 2 images based on the witness’s testimony, (created using the multiple email replies above) that lead up to the ‘start’ of the video footage recorded by the witness. Please note that the video does not contain stars in contrast to visuals.

Stellarium was used for the night sky around the Chesterfield area on 07/29/2018 11:00 PM

There were satellite trajectories in the witness’s field of view, however its difficult to confirm whether they were visible to the naked eye at that time.

I checked the meta data in the video file and noticed the creation date was 20/09/2018 at 18:33 and not 07/29/2018 11:00 PM

Weather at time of sighting sourced from Time and Date 07/29/2018 11:00 PM 

Google maps revealed 3 airports close by.

Conclusion

Based on the witness description and video, without further sufficient evidence I am unable to make a solid conclusion. Looking at the witness’s video it’s difficult to determine the movement of the light and the movement caused by the witness. Therefore I speculate this is most likely a commercial aircraft, however unable to determine.

Witness Testimony

I saw an object as high above the planes as they were above me. It was shaped like a bright red jelly bean. Gently rocking from side to side. It took off slowly upright leaving a bright spiral / corkscrew tail. Then suddenly shot off at an angle, again leaving a red trail and disappeared.

With the lack of video or photo evidence, I will attempt to identify what the witnesses observed based on the following facts along with witness statements. I created a visual representation based on the witness’ testimony:

Researching Stellarium for known celestial objects on 06-10-2011 @ 9:30 pm revealed multiple celestial objects in the sky, however it would be difficult to speculate what was visible by eye at that time due to the weather and other atmospheric conditions during the sighting.

Conclusion

Based on the witness description and lack of sufficient evidence I am unable to make a solid conclusion. As the sighting took place in 2011, historical weather and satellite tracking are not readily available for the location and year.

On the 8th April 2018 at 6.15 p.m. I had a feeling to look in the sky were Iive in {Thornton \Cleveleys. Blackpool,Lancashire,England.} As I did this I saw a object that looked like 3 dots in a shape like a upside down V As I watched it looked to go smaller and higher in the sky. 6.25 pm the object just appeared in one line Top to bottom there was lights coming from it,top.was metallic blue. Middle was silver\yellow.and the bottom part was light orange {flashing} After a few seconds want invisible before coming visible again. As I then looked to the right came what looked like a long multi coloured submarine.It was as if it had been called.{As I live in sea side the sub looked to come from the sky over the sea}
Shortly after the objects disappeared in a brown circular cloud then the sky turned blue and clear again

2nd witness report from Rev Christine Wright

When my husband first see the V shaped object in the sky he was in the sun lounge. To get a better look he went outside to see if it better.A few minutes later I saw the vertical block with flashing lights before it went invisible for a few seconds, reappearing in the same place until a sausage shaped vertical object appeared with flashing lights. This vanished after a few minutes into a brownish round cloud with a hole in the middle. (edited)

The submarine/sausage seemed to appear from over the sea and was horizontal. This was not flashing like the V shaped one at the time. At first my wife could not see fully from inside the sun lounge so like myself she came into the gazebo. This is without Windows and is fully open As we call it the garden. (edited) (submarine / sausage confirmed horizontal)

Stellarium Blackpool England 8th April 2018 – 6.15 p.m

Researching Stellarium for know celestial objects on 08-04-2018 @ 6:15 pm revealed multiple celestial objects in the sky, however it would be difficult to speculate what was visible by eye at that time due to the weather (cloudy with sunny conditions) throughout the sighting.

Conclusion

Based on the two witness descriptions and lack of sufficient evidence I am unable to make a solid conclusion. At the time of writing this I hope to receive replies to my inquiries from the aviation, media and UFO organisations….

Background

On October 22, 2016, this case was submitted to The Black Vault.  The photographer, submitted the following information:

“This picture was taken by my wife with a digital camera and tells me there was nobody around or behind when the photo was taken. She was also sat with 3 other people facing me that says the same.

I showed this pic to the hotel a few weeks after and they tell me of ghost activity in the hotel. I had the pic examined by a photographer that also says a ghost. I’m the one in the middle.

It was taken at the Holiday Inn, Leicester, built over a Roman garrison

Have any ideas on this?”

The case was turned over to TBV Investigations team member Jeremy Enfinger for analysis, who specializes in claims of ghost activity.

The Analysis

Metadata analysis indicates the image is the original file, however, EXIF metadata was not able to be extracted. The image was taken from a Samsung Model DV300, DV300F, or DV305F at the model’s maximum resolution of 4608 x 3456 pixels, using automatic exposure control with ISO 400, an exposure time of 1/8 sec and an F-stop of 2.5. With the jpeg quality being 94%, there is no indication that the image file has been compressed. The flash was fired during this exposure as well.

The time stamp on the metadata differs from the approximate date reported. According to the individual submitting the photo, it was taken around Christmas, 2015. The metadata indicates it was taken February 15, 2012 at 2:36 p.m. It should be noted, however, that if the camera owner did not set the time/date in the camera settings prior to this exposure, the metadata would not necessarily display accurate “modify date” information. It should also be noted that presence of Christmas decorations in the photo corroborates the individual’s report.

The Interview

After writing the initial report, on January 20, 2018, TBV Investigations team member Jeremy Enfinger conducted an interview with Shaun, the man who submitted the photograph.  He will be sending the actual camera to TBV Investigations for further testing, with hopes to try and reproduce the image using a multitude of settings and lighting situations, attempting to emulate the original setting.

Testing will be posted once it is completed.

General Observations

Aside from the Christmas decorations previously mentioned, ELA (error level analysis) shows similarities in texture of the anomaly with the background and close resemblance to some of the articles of clothing in the foreground. This similarity in texture implies there was no digital alteration of the photo in the area of interest around and including the anomaly. There is also stark contrast between the anomaly and light sources from within the field of view, and it blocks the light from the lamp (frame left), indicating the anomaly has mass and opacity through the clearly-visualized portions.

No notable indications of time/date found within the photograph. There’s a bottle of Whispering Hills Californian Chardonnay which began bottling in 2010, but no year is visible in the photo.

While the two men in the foreground (middle and left) have minimal red-eye effect from the flash, the man on right has moderate red-eye in the photo indicating his pupils were pointed directly toward the flash compared to the other two men in the foreground. The amount of red-eye for the anomaly is severe and more easily notable at a glance. This is inconsistent with the red-eye pattern of the men, and would typically indicate the subject would either be closer to the flash or looking more directly at the flash, neither of which seems to be the case give the direction it seems to be facing and physical location in the room, leaving some question about how this was accomplished. However, when examining the reflection of the flash in each of the subjects’ eyes, the angle of reflection is consistent with the men in the foreground and the anomaly, suggesting physical presence during the flash consistent with the angle/location of the photographer.

The anomaly does not possess the same RGB color values, and this section of the image appears to be desaturated compared to the rest of the photo, though some color is present. There is motion blur in a horizontal pattern surrounding the anomaly, but clear facial features are seen within the anomaly without motion. Initial observation was to suspect digital manipulation, but metadata contradicts this suspicion. It is possible to manipulate the metadata, but it would need to be intentionally done and knowledge of how to do this is not common.

Light reflection patterns are consistent in the anomaly compared to that of subjects in the foreground, however, there are shadows present at the edges of the anomaly that are not present with subjects in the foreground, indicating a discrepancy in how the room light interacts with the anomaly. Parts of the anatomy cannot be seen posterior to the facial anatomy, and appear transparent where the background is clearly visualized where anatomical features should be seen.

Conclusion

At first glance, my opinion was that this photo visibly appears to be digitally edited, however, there is evidence to suggest that the anomalous figure was in the room during the exposure. If it was hoaxed, someone would have had to go through great lengths to modify the metadata on the original image following photomanipulation, which generally would show on the ELA analysis and/or reduce the quality post-compression. Or someone found a way to take a photograph of a doctored photo/sample, which would possess accurate metadata, though I found no evidence of this.

Additionally, it’s possible that someone may have walked into the frame during exposure. With a 1/8 second exposure, a blur effect might be possible depending on how fast that person would be walking, but the blur should be consistent throughout the image of that person, not only in certain areas. It would also not explain the desaturation in color of the anomaly.

I would recommend further testing of the camera to include the features “split shot”, “motion photo” and “artistic brush”. It is possible the effects appreciated may have been added by mistake. I was not able to test this model of camera myself.

Given the red-eye appearance, the desaturation of the anomaly, the blurred edges (and clear facial features), the resemblance to Photoshop’s clone tool effect, and shadow discrepancies, there are enough indications to suspect some level of alteration. The problem is I can’t seem to find any evidence of manipulation given the data available. It is my opinion that this photo is authentic, however, I am unable to explain the anomaly or its features.

Currently, the photograph is with other photo analysts for evaluation, and results will be posted.

Research image analyst Kenn Raymond, owner of VDI Spectral Art, decided to do his own independent analysis on the photograph above.  We were very intrigued by Kenn’s findings, because after extensive analysis, Kenn concluded the image to be an unknown, but did find a possible clue (as of 5/17/18 is still being researched) that shows the metadata lists the “number of images” as 2, indicating a possible double exposure.

The UFO seems to be shaped like a car with 2 protrusions at the front of it. It seems to have a protrusion at the back with something dangling down from it.

It seems to have a blue panel at the upper back. At first we thought it was a balloon however it clearly seems to be a solid object with edges to it which is something balloons do not have and also, it could not have been a kite as it was not a particularly windy day and also we saw it flying in a controlled fashion and it seems to remain horizontal.

Also, it does not seem to be a drone due to the shape and also no rotas are visible.

Captured just before 3.00pm on the 30/05/2015  over South Yorkshire, England in the UK, a small plane was flying by which we did not film and as it flew past, we saw a stationary bright point of light high in the sky. 

As it was stationary, we knew that it was a UFO, so we got our Panasonic HCV-550  video camera and after a few attempts at focusing, managed to capture this amazing ring doughnut shaped UFO, which was very far away using the 90x intelligent zoom. 

The UFO seems to shape shift and flex but returns to its ring doughnut shape and it seems to have a dark base, which rules out it being a balloon or drone. 

It seems to emit on its own in and around the craft at times, green, red and white light, which is separate  from the sun reflecting off the metallic surface which is probably its propulsion system.

Witness Testimony

My Name is __________, but I would prefer my name is not released.

My work at the time was classified and I don’t want to get other people into trouble.
 
The Date was Thursday 03/08/2006 – The time would be about 13:30. (It’s taken me this long to get up the courage to make this report).
 
The Weather was very good that day and there was very little or no cloud.  We were looking up at an angle of 60 to 70⁰ . The sun was bright and high behind us.

I was working as a senior aircraft weapons engineer for BAE Systems at Warton aerodrome Lancashire, when; –  I saw what can only be described as a UFO.  Unidentified flying object: – Man-made or Alien?? Who knows????

The best description I can give is to say imagine a 40 gallon steel drum hanging noiselessly in the air and spinning slowly about its vertical axis.
 
Please see the picture to the right to give you some idea as to what I saw. 

This picture shows a very similar object, but I /we were closer, and the object looked about twice the size of this one. This YouTube clip shows the same thing that I saw:

See Below for more detail. I saw this from about 150m away, (Not the 500 as stated in my drawing); it was hanging silently above the end of the runway at a height of about 60 or 80m. It was slowly spinning clockwise if seen from below, at maybe 15 or 20rpm. It was totally silent. It was the colour of unpainted aluminium. Its size is hard to say, but I would put it as a similar size as a small aircraft say 5m across X 10 or 11m tall.

The circumstances of my sighting were even stranger than the sighting it’s-self.   It started when a colleague and I were returning from the other side of the airfield. We were waiting for a staff bus that they use. We were idly talking about a sci-fi TV programme that was coming on, when my friend said “What would you do if you saw a UFO”. And I said “What like that one”, and I pointed up at it.   That’s when it gets really funny. You would think that we would be freaked out over it, but; we just calmly stood and watch it then we got on the bus and carried on with our work. (I can remember still seeing it as we drove past /under it in the bus, but I can’t remember it leaving.)

The only other person on the bus was the driver, and he either didn’t see it or it never registered with him. (He never said anything!)   It was two days later that the sci-fi programme came on TV; and it must have jogged my mind. I realised what had happened and that we hadn’t spoken about it. It was as if it never happened.   Looking back on it, I /we must have had some missing time, we should have been back into the office by 14:00 at the latest, but all I can remember is having a quick coffee and it was time to leave i.e. 17:00. After the incident I became ill. I suffered from a bleeding nose, something I had never had before. Sleepless nights, and a rash around my groin. I also had a protracted episode of going giddy and forgetting things. This was so bad I ended up having to give up my job.  

I still don’t know what happened, but I know that my friend was also very ill, and he also lost his job though illness. From my point; I’ve developed a large interest in the paranormal. Remembering that I was an Aeronautical engineer this in its self is strange.  The other very strange thing is that we didn’t find it necessary to talk about the experience. We just calmly went back to work and never said anything to each other about it. When we did talk about it (Two days later). We found we had the same memories. We both remember waiting for the bus.

We remember the object and the bus ride back to work, but neither of us could, and still can’t remember working the next day or the afternoon directly after the incident.   It’s all a blank, right up until the TV programme. It was the same for my friend up until I spoke to him at work he had no recollection of the incident. We had gone about our days without any trouble and without any idea that anything had happened.  

I believe I’m a well-rounded individual and after 10 years in the RAF and 20 working in industry working as an engineer I don’t go in for flights of fancy. That being the case I would love to know what this was, and what happened that day. If it was man made; ‘I would love to speak to the people that made it’. I can’t begin to imagine what the power source was, or how it was made?  

This is the best and the fullest description that I can give. I hope it makes more sense to other people than it does to me.

P.S   When I was about 7 years old I have a very faded memory of seeing a UFO before, “but I was a child”, so it may be a false memory. I would not like to make a record of it as I can’t guarantee that it was real.   We lived in a very small village in Worcestershire UK. It was back in the autumn of 1962ish. I remember it being cold and misty. I was sitting on the church yard wall overlooking a field. I have a vague memory of feeling giddy and slightly queasy.   Looking across the field I could see what looked like a silvery /white round craft standing on three or four legs.

It was a long way away, and difficult to make out, but I remember seeing four small figures dressed in grey coveralls and what looked like grey baseball hats.   They were walking around the craft looking at the grass and poking at it with what looked like thin sticks. One of them then pushed what looked like a thin ‘T’ shaped rod into the ground (the sort geologists use to take core samples with).

I then have the feeling that they noticed me, as the one with the ‘T’ shaped rod looked over towards me and then the whole scene shimmered and vanished. I can’t remember my feelings or anything else. Also I had no memory of this until after my sighting at Warton.   I can also remember waking up as a child with marks on my arm and thighs that I can’t account for.     Anyway thanks for taking the time to listen /read this. Hope it might help someone else.

On November 19, 1995, Wem Town Hall in Shropshire, England burned to the ground. Many spectators gathered to watch the old building, built in 1905, as it was being consumed by the flames. Tony O’Rahilly, a local resident, was one of those onlookers and took photos of the spectacle with a 200mm telephoto lens from across the street. One of those photos shows what looks like a small, partially transparent girl standing in the doorway.

Nether O’Rahilly nor any of the other onlookers or firefighters recalled seeing the girl there.

O’Rahilly submitted the photo to the Association for the Scientific Study of Anomalous Phenomena which, in turn, presented it for analysis to Dr. Vernon Harrison, a photographic expert and former president of the Royal Photographic Society. Harrison carefully examined both the print and the original negative, and concluded that it was genuine. “The negative is a straightforward piece of black-and-white work and shows no sign of having been tampered with,” Harrison said.But who is the little girl?

Wem, a quiet market town in northern Shropshire, had been ravaged by fire in the past. In 1677, historical records note, a fire destroyed many of the town’s old timber houses. A young girl named Jane Churm, the legends say, accidentally set fire to a thatched roof with a candle. Many believed her ghost haunted the area and had been seen on a few other occasions.

The mystery could be solved. On October 11, 2013, the Shropshire Star published the following article, disputing the authenticity of the photo:

Does postcard solve ghost riddle?

One of Shropshire’s most sensational mysteries – the spooky riddle of “The Wem ghost” – may at last have been solved by eagle-eyed Shropshire Star reader Brian Lear.

Brian spotted an eerie similarity between a girl standing in the street in a 1922 photo of Wem and the young girl whose fuzzy image was famously captured amid the flames as Wem Town Hall burned down in 1995.

That photograph taken by local amateur photographer Tony O’Rahilly created international headlines and sparked the legend of “The Wem Ghost”.

There was speculation that the girl was 14-year-old Jane Churm, who accidentally started the disastrous great fire of Wem in 1677 and was reputed to be haunting the town hall.

Wem folk enthusiastically embraced the story which put their town under the spotlight. A sign on the outskirts had a makeshift alteration to read “Ghost Town”, experts in paranormal activity visited, and there was even a scroll and a plaque to mark where the ghost was spotted.

But when Brian, from Shrewsbury, looked at a photo of Wem — a postcard franked in 1922 — in our Pictures From The Past slot the other day, his eye was drawn to a little girl standing in a doorway.

“I was intrigued to find that she bore a striking likeness to the little girl featured as the ‘Wem ghost’,” he said.

“Her dress and headgear appear to be identical.”

So we have blown up detail from that picture to compare with the “Wem ghost”. And, by jove, he’s right!

Photographer Tony O’Rahilly, who died in 2005, said at the time that he had discovered the ghost image when developing his snaps of the town hall fire.

Some time later the photo was examined by experts from the National Museum of Photography, who concluded it was a fake. But others were certain it was genuine.

The following is posted by Combermere Abbey:

This photograph of the library in Combermere Abbey was taken by Sybell Corbet in 1891 . The figure of a man can faintly be seen sitting in the chair on the left. His head, collar and right arm on the armrest can be clearly made out. This is reputed to be the ghost of Lord Combermere.

The first Lord Combermere was a British cavalry commander in the early 1800s, who distinguished himself in several military campaigns including the Battles of Salamanca and Bharatpore. In 1817 he became became the Governor of Barbados.

While serving as Governor, he is mentioned in unverified stories of the Chase Vault as being a witness to its allegedly “moving coffins” He died in 1865.

The second Viscount Lord Combermere died in 1891, after being struck  by one of London’s first motor cabs which was electrically powered. While Sybell Corbet was taking the above photograph, Lord Combermere’s funeral was taking place over four miles away. Corbet recorded that the photographic exposure took about an hour.

It is thought by some that during that time a servant might have come into the room and sat briefly in the chair, creating the transparent image.

This idea was refuted by members of the household, however, testifying that all were attending Lord Combermere’s funeral.

Description (In Witness’s Own Words): A friend and I were walking across Ilkley Moore and saw strange lights in the sky. We had a camera with us so we took some photos of them. They then zoomed accross the sky and then above us. The next thing we remembered was waking up 10 hours later. It was only through regression that we learned that we had been abducted by aliens. They had grey skin with large black eyes. Their bodies were also grey and looked skinny. They had no nose or ears and communicated with us telepathicaly. The told us not to be afraid and that more of them were coming. They said they had taken us into outer space to learn more about our race. There was then a bright light above me they said were scanning me. They then did the same to my friend and then returned us back where we were before the encounter.

Second Report by Witness: In response to my request for photos taken during the event the witness said that the photos “turned out blank.” Witness also stated that both he and the other witness were hypnotized by his cousin. The witness said that his cousin had four years experience in hypnosis.

Investigator’s Notes: This case could be a hoax or misperception. I have written to the witness again to find out about his regression session. Like most abduction cases this case cannot be proven to be true. Any updates will be posted.

A family claim their barbecue was interrupted by four UFOs ‘zooming across the sky’ – quickly followed by a Ministry of Defence helicopter.

Andrea Finney, from Bolton, Lancashire, was enjoying a pleasant outdoor family meal with her husband Nigel and their son when the mysterious event left them spooked.

The 48-year-old, who works in property management, told Mirror Online: “There were four of them, and they zoomed across the sky.

“You just had to be there to see it, it was the strangest thing I have ever seen in my life.

“They zoomed off after we spotted them, and the craziest thing was that they were then followed by a Ministry of Defence helicopter.

“I was just gobsmacked.”

Upon seeing the UFOs, she alerted her husband Nigel to get a camera.

The 50-year-old delivery driver said: “I took photos as quick as I could.

“We just could not explain it. They were not hot air baloons. They were not Chinese laterns. They were just something else.

“Our camera does not have a good zoom on it or anything – it is just a normal camera, so we took what we could but afterwards we just could not explain it.

“It’s a mystery.”
