About this archive: The Department of War announced the release of unidentified anomalous phenomena files through an official press release, making a new body of UFO/UAP-related records available to the public. The release includes historical records, agency files, mission reports, still images, and video material tied to the first publicly posted UFO Files release.

The original files were not presented in a format that made the full collection easy to search. Many of the PDF records were largely unsearchable, and the files were also password protected in a way that interfered with OCR processing. The Black Vault processed the PDFs to remove that barrier, convert the documents into searchable text (there are limitations with older/typewritten scans, which explains why some text looks like gibberish), and built this dedicated search tool so researchers can search across filenames, metadata, OCR text, dates, agencies, locations, and related video records from a single interface.

This database currently covers UFO Files Release #1. More releases are expected to come online, and additional records will be added to this search engine when they become available. Note: This search engine is dedicated to the UFO Files released during President Donald Trump's second administration. This search engine does NOT include the thousands of other documents already archived by The Black Vault on the same topic. We recommend a site-wide search to include those.
