Social Security Administration Inspector General Reports

To give some background on the SSA, according to their website, “We deliver services through a nationwide network of over 1,400 offices that include regional offices, field offices, card centers, teleservice centers, processing centers, hearing offices, the Appeals Council, and our State and territorial partners, the Disability Determination Services. We also have a presence in U.S. embassies around the globe. For the public, we are the “face of the government.” The rich diversity of our employees mirrors the public we serve.”

1997 Reports

 Aliens Receiving Supplemental Security Income Payments, September 1997 [30 Pages, 5.56mb] – The attached final report presents the results of our audit of fraudulent decisions processed at the New Orleans hearing offIce (A-06-97-71006). The objectives were to review Ithe methodology used by two former New Orleans hearing office derks to process fraudulent disability decision letter~ and to determine the adequacy of the Office of lHearings and Appeals’ response to this fraud.
