On April 23, 2019, Bryan Bender from Politico broke the news that the U.S. Navy was drafting guidelines for Navy pilots to report UFOs. On June 19, 2019, Mr. Bender then broke the story about Congressional briefings on the UFO topic.
I went after records pertaining to these stories, which include communications internally within U.S. Navy public affairs, and between Politico’s Mr. Bender and the U.S. Navy while formulating his story.
