“The Independent Assessment Panel (IAP) was chartered to review and assess the DoD management and organization of National Security in Space and make appropriate recommendations to strengthen the U.S. position. The IAP was supported in its efforts by a study team from the Institute for Defense Analyses (IDA). The IAP is grateful for the participation of liaison officers from the Department of Defense, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the National Reconnaissance Office, and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (see Appendix C for the study team and liaison participants). This task was performed by IDA for the Director, Space Policy Office of Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Strategic Capabilities under task entitled
‘Department of Defense Organization and Management for National Security in Space.'”
