Viewers spooked by bizarre footage of giant purple UFO floating in night sky

The footage – recorded on a HD camera by an unnamed man in Maine, USA – appears to show a collection of bright purple coloured lights high in the sky.

The person who filmed the mysterious purple object said: “I was in my home with my wife and teenage son when we all saw the object high in the sky.

“We thought it could be a sophisticated large drone, possibly military, but when we reviewed the video frame by frame, it appears to spin and then disappear.

“We were excited to see the object even if it turns out to be just a drone.”

He added: “My wife posted the video clip to her Facebook account and our friends were shocked.”

The video has attracted a lot of attention on YouTube where it has gained thousands of views.

Many suggest the UFO is actually just a drone or a remote control helicopter.

But one viewer commented: “The video looks real. Whether that is an Alien craft or somebody’s drone with lights I can not tell.”

Scott Waring, who runs blog UFO Sightings Daily, said: “This object has all the features of a true UFO and does not resemble a drone or other aircraft.

“Its purple hue is unusual, but the fact is that in many UFO reports, even by police officers, eyewitnesses have seen UFOs turn multiple colours of the spectrum in seconds.

“So, the fact it changes colours only makes it more possible that this is a real UFO.”

I was walking my dog and was walking easy. She started acting very scared and tried to run for home. I looked around to see if something spooked her.

I looked up and saw this object drop out of the sky and stopped dead, it didn’t slow down. It just stopped and hovered about 500 feet away from me, and about 700 feet from me, and hovering about 3 buildings from my home.

I didn’t hear anything, smell anything, I did however feel a buzz-like sensation. I honestly thought something was going to happen to me, my adrenaline was pumping hard and it took everything in me not to run and stand as still as possible.

This is not me, I am a very curious person and want to figure out any mystery that I come across. It has served me well many of times, but has also been a disservice at times. I thought I was going to get abducted, hurt or God forbid; killed.

After a few (seemingly) seconds I remembered I had my phone on me and went to grab it. However, I noticed the phone (Moto G) was very, very slow (also not typical, I pride myself on keeping my computers and such in optimal running condition), after a few seconds I got the camera app running and snapped a few pictures; after the 4th or 5th, the phone shut off and over heated.

The vessel then out of nowhere, shot west towards the Gulf of Mexico. I didn’t see it after then. The dog calmed down and looked at me like if she was saying (can we go the hell home now?), and we run home.

I get home and my wife asks me where have I been. She says I was gone for almost a half an hour. I don’t think I was abducted, I think I got so lost in the moment that I lost track of time.

I tried to get my phone back on, but she wouldn’t boot. I opened the back up and the battery was hot as hell. The battery shorted out. (No I don’t have it, lithium ion batteries can burn skin if they rupture). I got a new battery and it booted up and saw the pictures.

I showed my wife and son and they both believe it was a unmanned drone. I don’t believe it is a drone. I am a huge fan of aircraft and know every make, model, shape and size of all human made craft. This was not in any category of craft that I know of.

And on top of that, all human craft make noise because of the motors.

Is THIS America’s newest top-secret spy plane?
Clearest picture yet of mystery aircraft spotted flying over Kansas just weeks after being seen in Texas

A new photo of a mysterious flying object over Kansas has been revealed.

It appears to be the same aircraft as one that was snapped soaring over Texas last month.
The exact identify of the aircraft remains a mystery, but rumours abound that it could be a secret jet.

‘The photo is grainy because it was taken with a hand-held maxed-out 400mm telephoto lens through a cloud layer and then it was severely cropped to bring it up even close,’ says Jeff Templin, who took the photo on 16 April.

‘There is no way to know the altitude and no way to judge its size as there is no point of reference.

‘My sense of it with the naked eye was that it was quite high, at least the altitude passenger jets cruise over but if it were smaller like a “drone” it could conceivably have been lower and smaller.’

The Aviationist speculates that the plane could be a RQ-180 stealth drone or a prototype of America’s next generation long range strike bomber (LSRB).

A retired Marine with nearly two decades of aviation experience stepped forward with a compelling theory about the mysterious plane that was spotted flying over Texas last month.

On March 10, photographers Steve Douglass and Dean Muskett took pictures of three puzzling aircraft flying over Amarillo, and posted them online in hopes of identifying the planes.

Retired-Marine James Vineyard submitted one of the more interesting explanations, telling the Houston Chronicle he believed they were SR-72 Blackbirds – a spy plane that can cross the U.S. in less than an hour, unmanned.

Vineyard spent 17 years as a Marine and also worked with a jet squadron in Arizona.

He says the Pentagon may have dispatched the planes to the Indian Ocean to aide in the search for missing Malaysian Airlines flight 370.

But Douglass, who saw the planes himself, doesn’t agree.

‘The SR-72 is still in development,’ he said Tuesday. ‘Plus it’s a high-speed, high-Mach plane. These were going airliner speed. They were not in a hurry to get anywhere.

The SR-72 is currently being developed by Lockheed Martin in California, and according to the company’s website they say the plane could be operational as early as 2030.

It is the predecessor of the SR-71 which broke speed records when it flew from New York to Lonton in less than two hours in 1976.

Lockheed Martin’s Hypersonics program manager Brad Leland wrote that the plane is designed to ‘strike at nearly any location across a continent in less than an hour.’

‘Speed is the next aviation advancement to counter emerging threats in the next several decades. The technology would be a game-changer in theater, similar to how stealth is changing the battlespace today,’ Leland said.

Another reader, who wished not to be identified, told the Chronicle with confidence that ‘It’s a B-2 stealth bomber flying out of Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri.’

That’s what the photographers thought when they first saw the group of aircraft, but they say they checked with the base and no B-2s were flying anywhere in the U.S. that day.

Instead, Douglass believes that the planes are a no type of spy plane – a stealth transport plane that could sneak troops into a another country unseen.
