Background

A wheat crop formation was “seen” by Robbert van den Broeke in a vision, as it was occurring. This formed on August 2, 2010 in Holland. Roy Boschman went to the location described by Robbert as soon as it was light. He indeed found a formation. He also noted some of the seed-heads appeared to be partially burned. These were at the very end of a partially completed ring, or “arc”, which was part of a formation. The objective is to determine whether the cause of the blackening was burning or ustilago fungus. Following are photographs with a graphic of the formation, the formation, and the blackened seed-heads.

Conclusions

The analysis shows the seed-head top is burned. The heat it experienced appears to be localized because the bottom part of the seed-head is normal. The source of the heat is unknown. A logical speculation is that it was involved in the creation of the crop formation. The source was either hot, or there was an energy field around it that induced the seed hulls to burn.

Background

White powders identified as a hydrated form of magnesium carbonate, specifically with formula (MgCO3)4•Mg(OH)2•5H2O, have been examined by this laboratory from assorted unusual events occurring in Holland. One powder was associated with the appearance of a ball of light (Technical Service Report: UT009) and three others were found in different crop formations (Technical Service Report: UT055). Another white powder was recently procured from a crop formation which occurred on October 5, 2009 in Hoeven, Holland. A photograph of the powder as found in the formation is above.

Following is a diagram of the formation. The white powder was found in the large circle as indicated by the arrow.

The objective of this analysis is to identify this powder, and determine if it is the same as those previously encountered.

Conclusions

The white powder is a hydrated form of magnesium carbonate, with an approximate formula of (MgCO3)4•Mg(OH)2•5H2O. No other components are detected by FT-IR.1 The detection limit for this test is about 0.5% depending on the sample.

The powder is the same as encountered in previous Holland events.

No evidence for radiation above background, or UV fluorescing material is detected.

Background

The background as described by Nancy Talbott follows.

“The enclosed corn stalks come from a crop formation in Mission B.C., Canada which occurred in late August, 2002. You’ll note that the stalks have a lot of black on them. The stuff on the leaves I suspect is from fungus. But there is a different quality to the black on the roots and inside the corn stalks near the bottom which we are wondering about. Could this be a carbon blackening? Like perhaps one might see in a lightning strike? Or is it just the fungus?”

The objective is to determine the cause of the black color on the ends and roots of the corn stalks.

An aerial photograph of the site of the corn formation is on the following page.

Conclusions

•The analysis shows the black interior is corn fungus (ustilago). No carbon, which would be indicative of burning/heat, was detected.

•Two tests for determining the difference between carbon and black corn fungus can be easily done by field workers. The first would be to smell for charred material. The second would involve touching the black area. If the black material is carbon, some will come off and blacken the fingers. Corn fungus would not come off.

Background

The background as described by Nancy Talbott follows:

“A most unusual pictogram” was found in Norway in December 2003. It was made up of ice, 2-3 cm high, formed in rings and pathways. A light snow had fallen on top of the ice circle making it clearly visible.

The following spring fieldworkers took 4 soil samples and 4 soil controls in the hopes that you could look at them for any sign of a contaminant in the soils that might account for the ground/snow melting and then re-freezing.

Interviews with locals provided no ready explanation for the marking. The field was simply a grass field/meadow.

That spring of 2004 showed some of the marking in the growing grass where, apparently, the grass was not growing normally. From the photo it looks as if the ring areas may have been mostly dirt in 2004, when sampled. Perhaps some substance has impeded the growth of the grasses?

The field team says that lime and fertilizer had been spread on this field by the farmer one week or so before the soil samples were taken.”

A photograph and diagram of the site follows:

The object of this analysis is to determine whether any contaminants are present in the pictogram soils that would produce the observed design.

Conclusions

No unusual contamination was detected in the pictogram soil. Either no chemical was used to produce the pictogram, or it was depleted and dispersed into the soil long before sampling.

There are materials detected in both pictogram and control soils. Ammonium nitrate predominates. This is from fertilizer. There are also other natural soil organics, which include a small amount of natural ester and a very trace level of a waxy long chain hydrocarbon.

Background

The above crop formation appeared in a farmer’s wheat field in Teton, Idaho on August 10, 2002.

A yellow material was found on the hand of the farmer’s son after reaching into the formation on August 15, 2002. The arrow on the photograph designates the location of the material. The goal is to identify this substance.

Conclusions

The substance is a man-made terpolymer composed of styrene, acrylonitrile, and butadiene monomeric units. It is commonly referred to as an “ABS” polymer. According to the chemical dictionary1 ABS resin is “Any of a group of tough, rigid thermoplastics deriving their name from the three letters of the monomers which produce them; Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene.

It has numerous uses such as: “engineering plastics used for automobile body parts and fittings; telephones; bottles; heels; luggage; packaging; refrigerator door liners; plastic pipe; building panels; shower stalls; boats; radiator grills; machinery housings; business machines.

Several trademark types are “Cycolac,” “Abson,” “Kralastic,” “Lustran.” There are others.
