Foundations have a tremendous influence on Americans today\u00a0if only from the sheer number of organizations\u00a0involved and the colossal accumulations of wealth at their disposal. It is estimated, for example, that there are at least 7,300 charitable bodies operating in\u00a0the United States\u00b7 at the present time and, of these the Ford Foundation alone is estimated to be worth approximately $2,500,000,000.<\/p>\n
