This Estimate does not analyze the many ways in which<br \/>\nterrorist groups might directly or indirectly affect broader US interests, including regional stability,\u00a0access to energy resources, or the longevity of friendly regimes.<\/p>\n<p>Based upon all-source reporting\u00a0over the last several years, it provides a broad, strategic framework for understanding the trends that\u00a0will define the primary international terrorist threats to the United States.<\/p>\n<p>It focuses primarily on\u00a0radical Islamic groups because the Intelligence Community judges that the preponderance of the\u00a0terrorist threat comes from radical Islamic groups.<\/p>\n<p>A separate National Intelligence Estimate is under\u00a0development that will assess more specifically the terrorist threat to the US Homeland over the next\u00a0three years.
