The following document was obtained by The Black Vault through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), and was part of the “Stargate Collection” release.

It is a 1983 assessment of what LTC Wayne McDonnell thought about what was called the “Gateway Process.” This dealt with hypnosis, holograms, and out-of-body experiences, just to name a few things.

According to his introduction memo, as submitted to the U.S. Army:

“You tasked me to provide an assessment of the Gateway Experience in terms of its mechanics and ultimate practicality. AS I set out to fulfill that tasking it soon became clear that in order to assess the validity and practicality of the process I needed to do enough supporting research and analysis to fully understand how and why the process works. Frankly,’ sir, that proved to be an extremely involved and difficult business. Initially, based on conversations with a physician who took the Gateway training with me, I had recourse to the biomedical models developed by Itzhak Bentov to obtain information concerning the physical aspects of the process. Then I found it necessary to delve into various sources for information concerning quantum mechanics in order to be able to describe the nature and functioning of human consciousness. I had to be able to construct a scientifically valid und reasonably lucid model of how consciousness functions under the influence of the brain hemisphere synchronization technique employed by Gateway. Once this was done, the next step involved recourse to theoretical physics in order to explain the character of the time-space dimension and the means by which expanded human consciousness transcends it in achieving Gateway’s objectives. Finally~ I again found it necessary to Use physics to bring the whole phenomenon of out-of-body states into the language of physical science to remove the stigma of its occult connotations, and put it in a frame of reference suited to objective assessment.”

Missing Page 25

There has been a missing Page 25 for as long as I’ve known the document to exist. In 2021, The Black Vault filed for a new search. The CIA ‘lost’ that request.  When a followed up was sent in December 2023, they told me they still can’t find the page, but I should file to INSCOM in hopes to find it.

In February 2024, The Black Vault filed with INSCOM for the missing page 25. Very quickly, they responded with:

For some extra information, page 25 was received, according to this article, from the The Global Architect Institute, and put online. Although it likely is the official page, the FOIA hunt above represents a sought after copy of the one that accompanied the original. The following document was obtained by The Black Vault through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and was part of the “Stargate Collection” release.

This document, titled “Mars Exploration,” dated May 22, 1984, records a remote viewing session conducted as part of the CIA’s Stargate Program. In the session, a remote viewer was provided with geographic coordinates and tasked with viewing the planet Mars at a time period approximately one million years B.C.

The transcript describes large pyramid structures, megalithic architecture with smooth walls carved into canyons, deep channels, severe dust storms resulting from major geologic activity, and very tall, thin humanoid figures wearing fitted clothing. The viewer also perceived large structures apparently designed as shelters from storms.

In December 2023, The Black Vault ran the document through an AI image generator (DALL-E as interpreted by ChatGPT 4), and between the two, these are four examples of what it came up with.

In March 2026, the transcript was revisited to create a series of cinematic AI videos using Grok Imagine. The below archives that result.

In a 1984 CIA remote viewing session document, the viewer attempted to see Mars approximately 1 million years B.C.

Based on the document, I had Grok feed itself imagery prompts to re-create it.

If nothing else, it’s awesome to see what AI thinks it describes.
