I read an article on this a few years ago, and it seemed to take the stance that this was a well known fact, fully admitted by our government. It said that all phone conversations were recorded and analyzed by the computer and conversations with certain key words were red flagged to be listened to by an actual person.
Unfortunately I assumed that I would always be able to come back and find stuff related to this (as I've been telling people about it for years) but I'm unable to find the slightest mention of it anywhere. I wish I would have fact checked it at the time but I did not.
Anyways Im hoping someone on here has some knowledge of what I'm talking about and might be able to link me some reference to it. Thanks

This is a pretty good article on what is going on now. https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/nsa-surveillance-program-reaches-into-the-past-to-retrieve-replay-phone-calls/2014/03/18/226d2646-ade9-11e3-a49e-76adc9210f19_story.html?utm_term=.cc48c7eb7025
I did dig around to find anything Bell Labs and ATT was doing back in the day but all I found was this research: https://pubsonline.informs.org/doi/pdf/10.1287/opre.126.96.36.19983
If you think about the 50s and 60s I have no doubt in my mind calls were being screened. The government was more secretive in that era than it is even now I think.
