The Black Vault is excited to be a part of a project that provides a UFO Detector - a software tool that will let you utilize your computer and camera to scan the skies for possible UFOs.

The software is the idea of a programmer going by the name of projectCE, who created a computer algorithm to scan a video feed from your computer's camera. Once a light emitting object is detected, the program will analyze whether it's a bird, a plane, a helicopter, a bug, or quite possibly... a UFO!

That's right, this software continuously analyses the sky for movement and will omit the obvious and explainable objects. When it sees, what it believes, can be a UFO; it will record the video in the best available quality, and save the clip for you to review later.

The software is still in its beta phase and it is not meant to be a 100% accurate filter, however, it will save HOURS of time sifting through video, and produce a short list of results of probable UFO candidates for you to look at.

Problems, questions, comments, suggestions, or want to share a find? This is the forum for it - we look forward to hearing from you.

Hope to see the UFO Detector in a mobile version for Android. I won't use a computer version. Too much trouble. I have my cellphone with me all the time though.

For the ToDo list:

Filters - Starting with hooks into known objects, like Heavens Above and Flight Aware.
Of course that would require knowing where you are located and what direction/azimuth you are looking at...

my sincere congratulations on this wonderful project, I'm from Spain and I would do a video to youtube on the "UFO detector", if you give me permission, I make a video in Spanish explaining to people speaking as installed and working, also indicating who you are and if they want to support the project.
Thank you very much.

You have to select your area of detection first in the settings.

I'm also using windows 7 and the design of the program should not look like this. What is your screen resolution and are you using a custom windows theme?

FIRST TIME RUNNING:
• Run program go to settings and make sure all the settings are correct.
• Check that the resolution is set to your webcam’s resolution.
• Save settings and restart the program.
• Open setting again and click on "Create area file".

I dont have a button for "Create area file"
