How can we, Europeans, believe in Obama's words of democracy's development in this world leading country after current horrible situation in Ferguson. El Mundo is absolutely right, saying that it is "a direct result of US slavery and racial segregation laws that were in force until 1965" (www.elmundo.es/internacional/2014/08/17 ... c5683.html)
Well, it seems to me current sad events in the St. Louis give us good opportunity to realize how comparatively well we do things here, in Europe. So why should we constantly follow the US tracks in internal and external policy, I wonder?

If you are really interested in discussing this subject instead of making some blanket and inaccurate statements, many here would be glad to talk about it. "We as Europeans" is a broad statement, you do not even state which country in Europe you are from??? Seems to me that Europe has its share of problems, so you have no room to really spout off about the USA. The United States is not without problems, maybe we should not worry so much about the problems in other countries, and just ignore all yours. Like the problems in the Ukraine, you should be solving yourselves. You should start with declaring your own country, and enlightening everyone about what good deeds yours does for the world. Yes the USA if just so bad of a place, millions illegally cross our borders fleeing from the oppression of South America. I don't see Europe welcoming any of them. You are also free to accept any of the looters and folks in Ferguson who burned down half their own town. Do a little fact checking to see what Micheal Brown was doing 10 minutes before he got himself shot attacking a policeman.

It's less "what caused the riots" than it is "who caused the riots."

When is this nation going to wake up and reject, if not incarcerate race-baiting liars and thugs like fake minister Al Sharpton. Last I heard, inciting a riot is punishable by fines and up to 5 years in prison.

My issue with this mess and other like it like Beaver Creek OH (possible violation of 2nd Amendment and Ohio's Open Carry law.) is Police Accountability, the Constitution has teeth, when the Prosecutors avoid using these teeth that are issuing Carte Blanche (Blank Check) for authorities to abuse the law at will. And it is carte blanche from what I've been finding Even though less that a hundredth of a percentile of encounters of with police on duty results in abuse allegations less than 1% of police abuse allegations are investigated of that fewer still make it past indictment and less than 30% result in conviction, at the very least this means .003% prosecution conviction rate or lower. If you want a motive of why the protests and the riots happen on this issue when this Carte Blanche and avoidance of using the law below on a regular basis is combined the unequal prosecution of, policing of, and legal defense abilities of the lower economic classes and various minority groups its is a recipe for totalitarianism and invitation for open revolt & protest against those visible aspects of totalitarianism.

The Teeth

The alleged violations in Ferguson would have been.
