We all want to be good people, we all want to have good karma, be good husbands, and be great Fathers. What makes us want to be those things, and what makes others only do bad things to other people?
We just watched an American icon carted off to prison, maybe the biggest fall from grace since the OJ Simpson trials. Dr. Huxtable was one of Americas on screen Dads and beloved, and had a public persona and image as the perfect Dad, perfect life, and just a good person. But we learned that the secret life behind the screen, he did really bad things to a lot of women. To all of us struggling through the challenges of life, punching the time clock, and living day to day guided by a spiritual set of values, Faith and religion, its hard to understand how a man such as Bill Cosby can make to the top of the mountain, and fall to the deepest valleys. None of us can picture or imagine, using our fame and fortune for such devious behavior.
We see violent crimes everyday, shootings and rapes. We see hit and runs daily people running down someone and fleeing leaving them to die. We see people cheated in business, scams on the phone daily, and people willing to say anything to make that sale. We are in a drug culture that generates crime, and watch our political system sink lower by the second.
What makes people so willing to pull that trigger, care nothing about life, do harm, and just live horrible despicable lives. Our President cursed for wanting secure borders, yet the man arrested in Los Angles for killing several people with a baseball bat, was deported 6 times. He may have killed 2 family members as well. What makes a Bill Cosby who had everything, drug people to rape them? What moral compasses have gone to Hell in a hand basket in our society?
Meanwhile the vast majority of us who believe in God, believe what is an is not a sin, live lives knowing these things are unthinkable. Faith is a part of this, that we endure each day taking the high road, and do not let ourselves stoop to these levels.
It is a mystery to me, why these bad things happen, but bigger question is why is it so common in our world? Has all Faith left us, is there no moral compass anymore, and why do we make so many excuses that bad behavior of always someone else fault. The candy bar excuse, I was abused, I was a victim myself, I have a disease, I'm just sick and you have to take care of me.
I wish I knew the answer, we are a sick society, and lost our sense or humanity everyday. We are watching the ruin of a good man, by a liberal afront to protect the rights of so many things, where a moral compass does not exist. We have become a society that justifies bad things, with the most flimsy premises it is pathetic. We have lost our way, and for many they just rely on a sense of right and wrong, moral compass, and Faith to cope with all that is bad and not know why.
