SRO!

Anyway, no one has proof of God, bottom line.
If you do, present it, it'll be world altering.

In order for it to be verifiable it has to be able to be disproved. Every scientific hypothesis and theory has a way for it to be disproved. God doesn't. So therefore you cannot possible suggest it's on Athiests to disprove something which cannot be disproved, the onus is on you.

"George Bush says he speaks to god every day, and christians love him for it. If George Bush said he spoke to god through his hair dryer, they would think he was mad. I fail to see how the addition of a hair dryer makes it any more absurd."

eh...took much emphasis is placed on "proof" in this world anyway.

I say all is delusion, all is perception...there is nothing else. Sure there is, but for all intents and purposes there may as well not be.

what is "proof" besides something that satisfies the mind?

one cannot know a thing to be real or not real when one exists in the framework of that reality which they are attempting to define and verify themselves.

Proof has nothing to do with what makes the mind happy, nothing at all.

Good answer.

Truth doesn´t control you, you control it...

Oh you folks.

Proof most certainly does.

The mind observes a natural phenomenon, the mind says "why", tests are ran, studies are done, a conclusion is arrived at with "proof" of the "why", and the mind is satisfied.

Give me a f*cking break.

Or do you just like arguing with everything logical? Or is it just that you like arguing with me for the sake of arguing?

No, it does not!

The mind observes a natural phenomenon, the mind says "why", tests are ran, studies are done, a conclusion is arrived at with "proof" of the "why", and the mind is satisfied.

Whether or not the person is satisfied with the result, the result is the result.
Oppenheimer was not satisfied with the result of the nuclear bomb, yet it is so.

Give me a f*cking break.

Or do you just like arguing with everything logical? Or is it just that you like arguing with me for the sake of arguing?

I don't argue for the sake of arguing, and your argument is hardly one that I perceive to be logical. Truth and happiness are two completely different things, just because truth CAN bring happiness does not mean that they are connected, or that is WILL bring happiness.

well either way, my statement was

"fortwynt" wrote: what is "proof" besides something that satisfies the mind?

I did not say "happy", that was your word.

and by "satisfied" i was speaking in the context of the mind being satisfied that a result was scientifically predictable and verify-able.

not satisfied in the context of "happy".
