Religions have not been the cause of the major wars of history. Completly opposite in fact, the concept is not true.

How would you answer then to the question about Jerusalem and the Crusades?
I do not believe it was a matter of money or who had the biggest weapons...

Of course every war is about power but in those days like most situations today surrounding that area is mainly been dominated by religious wars and disputes.
Specially during the medieval age.

But if we leave religions aside on this.
Every war no matter what people fights about is really about Power while the issue of God is something you can excuse yourself with while you murder millions.
So in a matter of fact, everything is about God = Power.
That is the true meaning to most humans today when it comes to God.

Which in the end is very easy to leave everything connected to God or religions.

Truth doesn´t control you, you control it...

Run out of gas to defend your ideas?

No we have to guess the next letter.

I recon S. Can someone make a guess at the next letter? 😛

Why can’t people just get on with this sort of thing? You’re not hurting me by believing in god and I’m not hurting you by not believing in him. Simple.

Saturos reading this post of yours to the end, Its hard to understand your logic. You insist about some logic that power= God= wars are about religion=no matter what proof I won't beleive it. You just ramble on with ridiculas logic with something new, when shown your previous statements were wrong.

Sorry Saturos, the claim was "religion has caused more wars and deaths, than any other wars and ills put togather, is simply not true, anyway you spin it.

To answer to your question about the crusades, and a simple search in yahoo will let you find that answer. The best estimate of death toll of the crusades over 177 years and 7 differnent crusades, is about 1 million deaths. I didn't say there were not religous wars, I proved that the casues of most wars are not religous in nature. One site I found listed the top 20 worst things man has done to man. WW2 tops the list at over 55 million dying. Some events were religous in nature, but nowhere near the claim religion has caused more wars and deaths, than any other cause, is totally false.

Blaming religions for the main causes of war in history is statistically not true.

But since we mostly talk about more modern times, you usually count since the dawn of Christ.
The cultures before the jews are not really of any concern to any of us...

Saturos, what on earth is wrong with your brain? I present facts that refute the claim about religions and war thruout all history, which was the claim. You than spin it into something else and ask the Question about the Crusades, like that would tilt the results. Thinking nobody would look it up, I found that answer in 5 minutes and the answer that question of 1 million dead, is a drop in the bucket compared to other wars and world events. Now you blow that off and say something else stupid.

You should just try looking a few things up on your own, before you make some dumb claim about the crusades to refute the facts, instead of ranting your ridiculas spins that make no sence. You wonder why people think you are a screwball. 🙄

WWI and WWII wouldn’t have happened if it weren’t for religion.

All the war’s between Ireland and England wouldn’t have happened if it was for religion.

Slavery wouldn’t have happened if it weren’t for religion either, this belief that people we’re lower than you because they didn’t same beliefs as you.

Communism and Fascism wouldn’t have happened if they didn’t have a group of people to blame; and they blamed the religious or ethic groups.

All the wars that involved the old Empires were because of religion in some way.

Empires wouldn’t have worked out the way that they did; you wouldn’t have someone you respected doing some of the jobs that people did, they had to have someone lower than them for and Empire to work.

I’m not saying that religion is the cause for every bad thing that has ever happened but it’s pretty close to being in the centre of most wars.

All this nonsense that `religion installs morality` is just BS. It might be true at the lower level’s of society but the second someone in power get’s hold of it they only use it for there own purpose.

Look at the pope in the middle ages, he was the forerunner of the modern-day mafia.

Edit: One other thing. Why should we trust anything that is so two-faced? Love thy neighbour and all that crap…wait, he’s black he doesn’t count.

It should be love thy neighbour so long as he looks like you.

As I´ve said since the day I was born.

No. Most of them in power are evil, not the normal person.

I don't think the normal person is evil or stupid either.

Take for example the idiotic assertion by the pope that the human race should multiply unbridled

If the pope knew what he was talking about and had the decency to see his fellow human beings as equally precious instead of being more fodder for economic reasons and nice young sacrificial lambs for his cardinals and priests to sexually molest then he would realise such dangerous doctrines will create insurmountable problems for the human race which cannot be sustained at the current level of increase in population because the earth's resources are finite and cannot sustain the increasing numbers of people, its just not possible.

Proscribing to the insanity of false religious doctrines, these sleazy hyenas in powerful positions create havoc and more confusion for people to do the wrong thing rather than what is right.
If the pope is genuinely interested in doing good for the humanity in the name of GOD, he should sell billions upon billions of dollars worth of ill gotten vatican assets and save all the starving children around the world dying from malnutrition and hunger.

Anyway what the heck is a nonprofit religious organisation doing with so much money in the first place.
Why are they still showing their hypocritical faces by appearing saintly in front of people whilst behind closed doors, be engaged in the most dispicable actions unbefitting of the supposed agent of GOD.
Is this not a clear indication of the insanity and falsity of religious doctrines

If society foster these criminals in power and continue to give them blank cheque to consolidate more power for themselves and accumulate obscene amount of wealth at the expense of the health of humanity, then we as a collective are also to blame for letting these criminals to wreak havoc on our society with no checks and balances.

And if these criminals represent the epitome of the righteousness of religion then its no wonder why religion itself is viewed so harshly.

And yet this has been the best that religion had achieved up until now, to wreak havoc on society, foster very criminal minded power hungry depots selling GODs name to profit tremendously whilst turning a blind eye to starving children in the own back yards.

But still people who believe in this nonsense have been so brainwashed by the very belief system that has become an integral part of their own existence that it becomes a threat on account of any outsider that questions the very foundation of their beliefs system which they'll fervently redouble their effort to protect.
Its the most vicious forms of circular logic that is hard to escape
