Can God be influenced by us? Can we effectively change God's plan through prayer?
Is prayer effective? When is or isn't it?

thou hast no right but to do thy will. Do that, and no other shall say nay. For pure will, unassuaged of purpose, delivered from the lust of result, is every way perfect. -- Crowley

Perhaps the same can be said about prayer. If the prayer is unassuaged of purpose and delivered from the lust of the result, the prayer may be "more effective." Thoughts?

When he uses the word will, he references the true self (true will) which many would consider to be the soul. (As an aside: one could say that you are your body and have a soul...or one could say that you are your soul and your soul has a body.)

I've been doing some more reading lately into quantum mechanics, however most Scientific knowledge is light years behind. One of the basic understandings is that the physicist doing the experiment affects the outcomes of their observations, same as can be said into the microscopic research of DNA. In other words new physics show more and more that we change the basic nature of matter just by thinking about it. If the mind releases magnetic energies that directly interact with matter, and keeping in mind that emotions alone have been magnetically related to weather patterning, cloud formations etc, studies as well have been done with water, where prayers are said and the water forms seperate shapes for different emotions expressed, now lets imagine all the possibilities of just observing the movements of matter as result of thought. All the possibilities. What happens when we speak with those thoughts, when we give that life much more precise of a direction.

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

Genesis 2:7, ‘And the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living soul.

The hebrew word behind spirit (which is also breath) is ruach, meaning 'air in motion'.

"'Peace to you! As the Father sent me, I also send you.' And when He had said this, He breathed on them and said, 'Receive the Holy Spirit'"

Exhaled air is 100% relative humidity....and keeping in mind we all have different cellular respiration rates. How far does your water go? With what acceleration rate etc. 😉

For all I know I could be a plant containing 95% water with a near 100% return energy rate taking carbon dioxides with me for growth to produce larger amounts of solar activity.
And most likely none of this makes sense.

They mention this in the movie what the bleep do we know.
I heard someone offered that scientist a million dollars to reproduce his experiments in a controlled setting and the scientist declined.
But that's more gossip than anything...it's what I've heard through the grapevine.

From the link I gave about true will:
A man who is doing his True Will has the inertia of the Universe to assist him. - Magick, Book 4 pg.128

That is reminiscent of an Oprah re-run.

If it works, more power to you.

Indeed...

I do believe there is a power one can access for certain things, but it doesn't involve idle wishing which prayer sometimes is. I'm not very power hungry so I can't say I know much about it.

Crowley was a bad guy. However, that shouldn't stop you from reading him. One must know One's enemies.
