Seriously, I don't mean to be rude, but what kind of thread is this?

If we all made one word threads with a bunch of question marks the board would be flooded with garbage.

Sorry, I'm all for new members, but I'll take quality over quantity any day. Maybe Answers is really going to become a great member here and I've underestimated him, if so, he has his chance to prove it.

Humphreys this alone is ridiculously rude, serisously re-read it a couple times if you have to. This is all directed to someone who has never even seen a message board before. How do you expect them to start off? People need guidance without ridicule, and this board is not just for the most intelligent people, well I mean, everyone has something different they can offer.

Answers was directed to this board by me, she is actually my best friend and lives about 15 minutes down the road. She is a very intelligent person with great insight, and lives a very admirable life as a great mother and friend, always willing to hold out a hand to anyone in need. Sometimes kindness goes a long way.

Like I said in another thread, if you had insulted me, fine, we have discussed things over and over again and know some of our differences.

You have been here a long arse time, Humphreys, and that is what I have seen happen to some of us older members. We forget about what its like to be new to any of this. When I look back at my first time on a message board, yiiiiiiiikes, I was putting crap everywhere and anywhere, hmm I still can't spell, my vocabulary is pathetic, but the point is there is alot for me to learn, and what better place for it? Ive always learned from other members here, everyone should have that chance, and we should all encourage new members. Give them a chance,, if after a great amount of time passes and they are not contributing anything but crap, and intending it, then thats a different story. 🙂

Welcome to the INTERNET, Sandra, and welcome your friend too 😉

We all started out at some point, yes, and we all had to work through the tougher times when we did things the wrong way and got crap for it.

That's what the internet is all about.

Like I said, if Answers is a potential good future poster, she'll have to deal with this stuff, and she'll learn pretty quickly to do things in a way that doesn't get her a lot of criticism.

If she's really upset, I'd recommend diercting her to a few posts of your own where you are, in your own words, "a byitch", and she'll see how things generally work here and elsewhere.

When its directed at new members there needs to be less tolerance for criticism. Not just, oh deal with it type of attitude and get in line fast before we scare you outta hur!

I do not speak offensively to new members.

A member is a member, and rudeness is rudeness. I don't see why we should treat new members any differently to old members.

It's your preference to be a nice to new members, and "a byitch" to older members whenever you feel like it, and I just say what I think. If you want to think you're being morally superior to me in doing that, then you're deluded.

Personally, I think it's more reasonable to jump on a new member for a one word thread, than it is to respond to an older member's long, obviously well thought post with "LMAO what an idiot", while only glossing over what was actually written, but whatever.

humphreys, you need to not hold such a grudge either. You act as though I have called you names and you have been a perfect gentleman. cmon. We had a debate, argued, whatever, that time is over, but obviously you take me very serisously. After all that you say, I truly have no issue with you. You said you wouldn't even be responding to another post of mine, so if all you want to do now is argue about being nice to new members, then don't respond. There is nothing wrong with giving new members a chance to look around before calling them dumb. Frankly many people don't feel like im a by**ch to old or new members, and all I said was yes at times I can be.

I don't hold a grudge, the issue here is me being told how to conduct myself towards members by someone who is repeatedly rude, arrogant, and condescending. You want to suggest that that behaviour is fine, as long as it isn't directed at someone new.

Well, I don't agree. You're the last person I'll be taking direction from in this regard, so get offa yer high horse!

I just have a dark sense of humour Cole, you either get it, or you don't. You go work on your attitude. Buncha hypocrites here today.
