I thought there might be some folks who would want to discuss this.

For background info, it might be worthwhile to point to a wiki article
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I.....owledge%29

There are several topics to discuss.

What is intuition, really?

What does intuition come from, if anything?

What are the ways intuition can manifest?

How does one cultivate and improve their intuition?

What are the limits on intuition, if any?

What bearing does intuition have on reality? Does intuition give sight of that which is, or only sight of what you need to see?

What does it mean when one person's intuition conflicts with another's intuition?

What does it mean when it turns out that your intuition is, in an important sense, not consistent with what is?

Feel free to post other questions and/or your answers.

I'll be posting my answers when I have a bit more time.

First thing that comes to mind is what 'sheye' just wrote in the other thread:

sheye: All living things need to be approached with love...

(very true if I knew anything)

We want to learn of our intuition, there are no short-cuts. You will meet ego, you will meet fear, lack of faith, lack of hope, self responsibility, and your true measure to be who you are,
along with unworthiness, you will meet your karma (you can run but you cannot hide)- or you will not be given the freedom of a clear (or empty) consciousness to move through knowledge that is not loving in nature. When you have cleared these things out, you will begin to take these things from others. Boundaries ...you will not be given more than which you can handle.

Intuition is very much divine, and it can also be seen as divine love, divine intervention, unconditional through God. It is divine perception, that can manifest and
change what appears to oppose it. Like a weed whacker.
Things that stand in the way of our intuition, and others, can be changed by the love from God.

It is much beyond phsychic ability, it is free of senses, and expectations.
Knowledge does not fool love, nor intuition.

Intuition is to live creatively.

We have to believe in ourselves, and care for our mind, take care of what we are thinking. I've always believed- You can only believe in others in as much as you believe in yourself.
Just as there is a fine line between being humble and being who you are. Can't fear humility of believing in what you think.

There are people that take their life and don't know it, there are people that take their life and know it, and their are people that are living their life and don't know it, and there are people that are living their life and know it. But you can fall, and always get back up....because no matter what, we will know love.

And if intuition is in conflict- it is knowledge in conflict.

“Living backwards!” Alice repeated in great
astonishment. “I never heard of such a thing!”
“—but there’s one great advantage in it, that one’s
memory works both ways.”
— Lewis Carroll, Through the Looking-Glass

A common term we can all relate to is "A woman's intuition". Seems to be a common belief that its part of some "motherly instinct" program most women have. Where many men would listen to what a person is speaking and evaluate it literally, the intuition of a woman may be to listen to what is spoken, while thinking much deeper into the what is behind those spoken words. Its not even limited to spoken words, the Motherly program built in, seems to be very sensitive to preceptions, visions, and even preminitions. A sixth sence something is not right, something is wrong or has happened. I can;t tell you how many times I;ve seen Mrs. G2 do these things in her life. They somehow seem to know when something is not right, the intuition to sense a problem without hearing or seeing anything. Its something that is hard to put into words, and something that people who are totally literal about things, can not relate to.

Lots of important things have been said. I appreciate your posts, everyone.

Sandra, what do you mean when you say people take their lives?

Something else I'd like to point to is the relationship between intuition and what is referred to as the flow. Athletes and others call this being in the zone, when you feel the flow.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F.....chology%29

Flow is the mental state of operation in which the person is fully immersed in what he or she is doing by a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and success in the process of the activity. Proposed by Mihály Csíkszentmihályi, the positive psychology concept has been widely referenced across a variety of fields.[1]

According to Csíkszentmihályi, flow is completely focused motivation. It is a single-minded immersion and represents perhaps the ultimate in harnessing the emotions in the service of performing and learning. In flow the emotions are not just contained and channeled, but positive, energized, and aligned with the task at hand. To be caught in the ennui of depression or the agitation of anxiety is to be barred from flow. The hallmark of flow is a feeling of spontaneous joy, even rapture, while performing a task.[2]

Colloquial terms for this or similar mental states include: to be on the ball, in the zone, in the groove, or keeping your head in the game.

For millennia, practitioners of Eastern religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism and Taoism have honed the discipline of overcoming the duality of self and object as a central feature of spiritual development. Eastern spiritual practitioners have developed a very thorough and holistic set of theories around overcoming duality of self and object, tested and refined through spiritual practice instead of the systematic rigor and controls of modern science.

The phrase "being at one with things" is a metaphor of Csíkszentmihályi's Flow concept.[citation needed] Practitioners of the varied schools of Zen Buddhism apply concepts similar to Flow to aid their mastery of art forms, including, in the case of Japanese Zen Buddhism, Aikido, Cheng Hsin, Kendo and Ikebana. In yogic traditions such as Raja Yoga reference is made to a state of "flow"[16] in the practice of Samyama, a psychological absorption in the object of meditation.[17]

"Intuition is to live creatively."

I'm reminded of the Art tarot card, where "creativity" goes beyond the work of art, and something beyond the scope of the work of art is created. In other words, more than self-expression but literal creation. Like how a love poem written by a partner for his or her partner can create a bond beyond that poem, maybe even create more love. Or how a philosophical writing can create a new worldview, a paradigm. Creatively is literal.

My art comes unbridled when I am accessing the flow (aka am in the zone). The process of creation happens automatically then. The things you mentioned like ego and lack of faith form restraints, obstacles in the path of the flow. Then, the process is forced. It has to come naturally, and be recognized and practiced, in order to be more immersed within the flow. In my experience, there is no limit on this level of immersion.

Another question: what is the source of intuition? What is the source of the flow?

I think intuition is at least two things..
I think there really is a psychic component to it on the one hand..but also, I think it is the process in which our right brain works...our right brain doesn't work in the step by step.."logical"...manner that our left brain does.

I am getting good at actually sort of feeling which side is dominant at the time.

You know the brain test with the spinning dancer? Does she spin right or left for you?
That test..I can actually make her switch back and forth, at will. (ask and I can tell you how I do it..it's easy once you figure it out)
here is the test..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v.....COKXoq1iNY
(I see the video already explains how to make her switch)

I am lucky..in that my brain is more ballanced in that way..one side is not that much more dominent than the other. (unlucky in that it makes me dyslexic..and quirkier than most)

I am pretty much ambidexterous and can read stuff forwards and backwards

When my left brain is working in the forefront I can almost feel it working, computing..when my right brain works in the forefront things just "come to me" (in a different way)

Like, sometimes I will forget a word or title of something. If I try to force it out with my left brain, it gets stuck even more and I get frustrated.
If I send it to my right brain and just let it go a bit while my right brain seaches it out..it will suddenly come to me..the same way intuitive stuff does..it just pops in my head and I know it's correct.

does that make sense?

Willie Wonka quotes..
What is this Wonka, some kind of funhouse?
Why? Are you having fun?
A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men.
We are the music makers, we are the dreamers of dreams

Cool song!

She sez that intuition will always lead you in the right direction... I agree, and for me the right direction is sometimes the hardest direction.
