Nothing but courteous? Really?

All you've done through this whole post is push faith on me, as if it's the only answer you'll accept.

I've tried telling you that faith is not going to help. If that's all you have for input fine. But I've heard it all before. I've said it all to myself. You don't think I hear myself? I know how it sounds believe me. But this is where I'm at right now. I'm looking for answers the bible doesn't give.

An old joke I heard kinda fit my situation thought I'd share it.

Nearing winter on a farm here in Canada,a small bird got caught in a flash freeze. Cold and close to frozen, the bird thought the end was near. When along came a cow who dropped a big pile of crap on top of the bird. At first the bird was disgusted, but he soon warmed up. He began to sing. Alerted to the sound of the song, a cat promptly reached in to the pile and cleaned off the bird and ate him.

The moral of the story, not everyone who craps on you is your enemy, not everyone who reaches into the crap and cleans you up is your friend, and if you're happy in a pile of crap, keep your mouth shut 🙂

I feel like the bird, waiting for the cat to come back. If that makes any sense. If not I hope you liked the joke 🙂

There is more than one moral to the story, but no sense in mentioning it.

So….you are looking for someone with a similar experience, or an experience that caused a similar outcome, a crisis of faith. Others need not reply. Well, I did see something in the air when I was eleven that I still can’t explain even to this day, but that took place before I had any kind of faith that I could have a crisis with so I suppose that doesn’t count.

I would not assume that my faith is any stronger or that yours is any less. That whole argument is irrelevant. I won’t quote from the Bible since you don’t like that but I will reference it. When it comes to faith we know that, without faith, it is impossible to please God. Jesus said if we had the faith of a mustard seed we could tell a mountain to move and it would. That’s not happening, except in the minds of some TV preachers, so clearly we are all coming up a little short in the faith department.

However, truth be told, countless people have a crisis of faith every day. Usually from the more common experiences of life like death, sickness, loss of wealth or possessions, divorce or any other injustice they’ve had to endure even when it was something they didn’t deserve. But the Bible addresses this too even though you easily dismiss it.

The Bible says that, in this life, we will have tribulations. Part of that tribulation is our battle with faith. Even the Apostles, who walked with the Son of God, fought with their faith. At one point they even asked Jesus to increase their faith. Why should it be easier for us? It’s not.

A crisis of faith is a test of faith. It comes in many forms and yours was a little more unique than most but that was probably no accident. There is only one who dishes out temptation and he is the master of deceit, the god of this world. This brings me back to the verse I originally quoted where false prophets and false christs (demons as well as we get closer to the end of the age) will deceive, IF POSSIBLE, even the elect.

Don’t flunk the test…..pass it.

I think you're comparing apples and oranges.

I don't consider it a test of faith. I will not use spirituality to deal with a physical being. Especially one who needs a machine to get around.

I couldn't possibly look at my experiences as at test of faith either as it was my assumtion based on my faith that I was dealing with God.

And what of my friends? Was it their fate to be my test?.

No, I simply was a victim of an abduction, they put us back and we wrecked. Then, in an attempt to make sure they didn't lose all their lab rats, they used me to get help. Had I been a faithless heathen, I may have seen that right off the start.

I never said you weren't abducted. All I'm saying is don't be so quick to throw away the possible spiritual connections. Angels are physical beings, in a sense. They have interacted with man throughout the ages as well as demons (rogue angels).

Has your faith changed since this incident? Do you still feel the same towards God? Depending on your answers, it could very well have been a test.

Was Job's family a part of his test?

So now angels and demons are abducting people in ufos?

I think you're reaching. I dont know about you, but I stop thinking spiritually as soon as it enters the realm of knowledge and not faith.

I would not worship a being that was no different than myself and had to use technology like I do.Nor would I believe that being was able to create life from nothing.

If it turned out God was just a man like me,and not an omnipresent  force as I believe, I would stop following him. As would most I think. I could be wrong . Would you worship a man?

Jesus,is not God, you do not worship him, you worship God. Do you not?

Jesus was his son and messenger. I do not worship Jesus.

I worship the creator, not the created.

You are the master of you own ship. By your own words, not sailing too well. Good Luck Jamie!
