Welcome.

As a newcomer myself, I'm pretty enthusiastic about this forum, especially its UFO detection software, which is an idea I had myself a few years back. I'm awed that somebody is already using such software. I haven't had time to go through this forum in detail yet, especially to read about that software. I'm also glad to see that politics is a topic that is allowed, especially since everything relates to that, especially in the field of UFOs.

Idaho. Now there's a good place to be, for anyone living in the USA now. Smile

I think I'm burning out on these forums, after one month. I can't get a good conversation going anymore. It seems this site is mostly a case of everyone just wanting to read what other people post, without any participation on their part, despite several new people joining each week. I think I'm going to cut back on my activity here, and maybe log in briefly only once a day to listen to one the audio presentations each day, and as I finish new documents (I have an aliens ID document in progress) I'll post those, but that's about it.

I am sorry to hear that. There is much to come and we need user interaction here. Social networks have hurt forums considerably, but I am doing some upgrades in hopes that it may entice some users to come back.

Sincerely,

The only upgrade you need to do is to stop randomly censoring people's posts, as what happened to me multiple times on the BLM thread (and was never resolved, as far as I know), and is what happened to a new member just yesterday. If this is a glitch in the system, then fix the system. If this is bad moderation, then eject the moderators who did that. The sure way to drive me and most users away is bad moderation, especially the deletion of lengthy, well thought-out posts with references, and/or the retention of foul-mouthed personal attacks.

I am the only moderator with control to delete, and have not deleted a single post in quite some time, other than spam bots.

You are wildly mistaken, I am sorry to say.

Sincerely,

I am not wildly mistaken. If you want to get technical, the main posts I mean were held up indefinitely with an "Awaiting moderation" message on them. None of the text ever appeared, so effectively everything I wrote in those posts was removed from public view: effectively deleted. Then when I reposted parts of my held-up post, all my reposts were outright deleted, without even a message about "Awaiting moderation," and certainly no explanation. Those reposts weren't just effectively deleted, they were outright deleted.

I am sorry, I checked my logs. There were no "Awaiting Moderation" posts removed. Any that are, have the account removed as well (because near 100% of them are spam bots.) There is only one other account out of all that post here that has their messages get flagged, and I manually approve them.

You can accuse me if you'd like, but I didn't do it. You are able to delete your own messages, which I have seen some accounts do over the years and they blame me. Possibly you did that on accident?

Anyhow, if I made a mistake I am always happy to own up to it. However, there is nothing I deleted. Why don't you just repost it?

Sincerely,

I see that now, a month later, my lengthy post was finally approved, thanks. Maybe the posts I saw from two other members that were "Awaiting Moderation" have been approved by now, too: I don't know since I didn't note the location of one of them. I asked one of those members tonight if his Awaiting Moderation post ever appeared, so we'll see what he says, if anything.

The only two upgrades I believe would be somewhat useful are: (1) allowing attachments, but I see this upgrade is already in progress; (2) having a longer list of recent posts, by some means, so that a reader can see at a glance everything that was posted in the previous 1-2 days, without having to search the forum list for new posts that were scrolled off the end of the recent posts list.

I find it hard to believe that anyone is still using Facebook, with all of its dishonesty, censorship (especially against conservatives and New Paradigmers), invasion of privacy, and yearly scandals that make even the mainstream news. Maybe one day I'll make up a summary file of all those scandals to help enlighten people. The way I see it, if anyone is foolish enough to be using Facebook still, instead of boycotting them, they likely aren't enlightened enough to be someone whose posts I would want to read on this forum, unless maybe they're asking questions with an open mind.

It was approved before your accusation. Copying and pasting is what leads to posts going into the "Awaiting Moderation Queue". If anything ever sticks there, like I miss it, feel free to e-mail john@theblackvault.com and just ask if it was overlooked.

(1) allowing attachments, but I see this upgrade is already in progress;

That is already implemented. See button at the bottom. Let me know if something is not working right.

 (2) having a longer list of recent posts, by some means, so that a reader can see at a glance everything that was posted in the previous 1-2 days

You should have links to "unread" posts on your screen where there are unread posts. Have you seen those pages?

Sincerely,
