This is for sure a major national crisis.  All the reasons listed, why do so many get in such profound despair, they end their lives?  We have a very high rate in the military, and in children. Kids contend with all the adult reasons for suicide, watching families erode due to work, money, and marriage break downs, not to mention bullying in school. They have a extra heavy burden with this along with their own growing up problems in school.

AS times get harder and harder, despair gets worse, the felling of no solution, trapped with no way out. It is an epidemic and we do have a real problem with mental health care. Most insurance is very very limited in this area.  People are living a daily life of fear and depression.

IMHO one thing that lends to such depression is we have gone from 3-5 TV stations to hundreds of them, Cable TV, the internet, and everyone carrying cell phones. We are so inundated with the news from everyone of these things, we all live in a very negative society. None stop the news penetrates us, we can not even eat dinner without a newbreak of some murder, hit and run, police chase, politics, fear of war, doom and gloom, we can not escape. We are all just living in fear of something every minute of the day, so dealing with home problems us all that much more dire. We live with a sense of doom, depression, and everything bad in the world. We do not hear good news stories very often, it is all just negative.

Its no wonder, half the world is just living to exist, and each day is a challenge that chips away on us bit by bit. All too often is a a murder suicide and entire families are gone in 2 minutes of insanity.

I wish I knew the answer, but it is many ways a byproduct of the society we have evolved into. The never ending fight for jobs, homes, paying the bills, while hearing nothing but negativeness every minute of the day. Along with this is a society that  embraces things that religions try to teach is wrong, so their is also a real breakdown of traditional religious and family values. Anything goes, our moral compasses are heywire, its no wonder so many give up.
