Anyone familiar with the death of investigative journalist Daniel Casolaro knows that he was planning on visiting the Cabezon Indian Reservation before he died. I heard from various others, that Danny was interested in the reservation because of its connections to organized crime and clandestine activities. He was particularly interested in John Philip Nichols, the tribe's financial manager. Mr. Nichols was convicted of planning the murders of three tribe members: Fred Alvarez, Patricia Castro, and Ralph Boger. My question is:
Does anyone actually know for sure, if the Reservation was a hot spot of organized crime and clandestine activities? If so, what specifically was Danny going there to investigate? (A drug operation, illegal gambling, thefts of precious metals, etc.)
I also hear a lot about the Wackenhut corporation being involved in the Casolaro case. Can anyone confirm or deny this?
