For example, "global warming" = "climate change".  "Clear wire" = "Clear" = no longer.  "Quest" ="Century Link", and so on.

It reminds me of a Shakespeare quote..."a rose by any other name..."

And this is what I see when people think that words redefine what truly is.

Another example, and don't hate me here...I have a nephew who is retarded.  That was the old word for it.  He is a good kid, a bit older than a kid now, but a good person.  However, in certain circles, if I say "retarded", I'm now a bad person.  The truth is that he has to go do adult day care, he can't take care of himself.  We all know what that means.  Why fight over the name?
