So, is it just me?  It seems that I'll look around on forums that say, "new". and that I'm the last poster.  I've been to that forum and read what I wanted.  Should there still be a "new" by that forum?  What is the trigger that stops that "new" from being shown?

Sometimes I do the back button, but it seems to be the same thing even when I don't.

If I log out, it's fine when I log back in.

They should disappear when you read something. Using the back button it is probably cached, so you can't control that until you reload the page. Are you just looking at the title, or going in to the thread?

I'll keep an eye on what I'm doing specifically.  It's probably just me.

OK, when I look at the top level of all the forums, some have a new next to them.  For example this forum here, "general discussion".  I'm here posting and I've looked at the first page.  So, it seems like I shouldn't see the new when I go back to the upper level.  But, I've only looked at the first page.  When I go to the second page I see that all the threads have "new" next to them.  I haven't taken the time to read any of them.

They are marked as NEW until they are read... so, even though the index is loaded, they will still show as NEW, if I am understanding you correctly.

Sincerely,

You probably are understanding what I mean.  🙂
