Joran van der Sloot suspected of murder in Peru
Wednesday, June 02, 2010
KABC World News

LIMA, Peru (KABC) -- Joran van der Sloot, the prime suspect in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway, is suspected of murdering 21-year-old Stephany Tatiana Flores Ramirez in Peru, ABC News has confirmed.

Ramirez was found dead Wednesday morning at the hotel Tac in the Lima neighborhood Miraflores, after disappearing on Friday. According to broadcast reports, the room was trashed and the sheets were covered in blood.

Family members said Van der Sloot, now 22, was the last person to be seen with the woman before her death. Van der Sloot reportedly met Ramirez in a casino in Miraflores.

ABC News' Christine Brouwer reports that Aruban authorities have confirmed the report. Ann Angela, a spokeswoman for the Aruban public prosecutor's office, says the public prosecutor has received a call from Peruvian authorities confirming that Van der Sloot is a suspect in Ramirez's disappearance and murder.

Reporter Sharon Stevenson says Joran van der Sloot has left the country, passing through customs to Chile, according to Peruvian officials. They believe he may be headed to Argentina, but it appears he is on the run.

In Peruvian media reports, Ramirez's father Ricardo Flores, a prominent race car driver and businessman, said his daughter left with friends Friday morning and was last seen at 5:16 p.m. leaving a casino with Van der Sloot.

SR: He murdered Natalee Holloway and now this girl.

This time the dead body was in his hotel room and he fled to Chile. I hope he never sees the light of day again, and ends up in a dark cell living til he is 100.

If there is any doubt to both murders, what are the odds the same 22 year old would travel from the Neitherlands to Aruba and be involved in a murder, and 5 years to the date travel to peru and also be involved with a murder, both of young women? I wish they could hang this kids Father who told him in Aruba, get rid of the body where they can;t find it. In Aruba, no body, usually means no case. Unlike laws of other countries, murder can be charged without a dead body, if there is enough evidence. This could be the evidence needed to now prosocute him for the Aruba murder. A conviction of this murder could fill the gap of doubt that Aruba requires a dead body to fill. This may allow them to assume in Aruba he sucessfully disposed of the body, and this along with the other evidence is enough to convict him in both countries. .

I suggest as punishment they take him to the 50 yard line, during an Alabama football game, and turn him loose. The punishment will be long and harsh.

I herd a story that last month Joran van der Sloot was trying to export money from the Holloway family, stating that she accidently fell and hit her head, and that they buried the body. The Aruba police and the FBI were notified and were part of a sting, in which money was given to him, plus an account exchange totally about 25K of the 250K he was trying to extort. This occured in May, and somehow they didn;t arrest him, but he flew to Agrentina where he is now. This story gets stranger every second. One has to ask, after 5 years getting away with the Natalee murder, why he would do something to extort money by admitting to involvment. Is he that stupid?

Joran Van der Sloot Charged in Alabama with Extortion in the Case of Natalee Holloway

As if Joran Van der Sloot wasn’t already in enough trouble. He was already the prime suspected individual in the disappearance and death of Natalee Holloway. Then Joran became the suspect in the stabbing death of 21 year old Stephany Flores in Peru. Van der Sloot was arrested and taken into custody yesterday near Santiago, Chile.

Just when you thought that this dispicable individual could not get him self into any more trouble, Joran Van der Sloot is now charged in Alabama with extortion. That is correct, Joran Van der Sloot who was never charged in the death and disappearance of Natalee Holloway in Aruba, even though he has confessed to the crime twice and was the last person ever to be seen with Natalee has now been charged with extortion and wire fraud in promising to disclose the whereabouts of Natalee Holloway for $250,000. The investigation into the extortion charges against Van der Sloot had been on going for the past six weeks. Yet another bizarre coincidence that JVDS would find himself in further trouble, now the prime suspect in yet another murder.

The United States Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama charged Joran Van der Sloot Thursday afternoon with extortion and wire fraud, saying the Dutchman promised information on Natalee Holloway’s whereabouts in exchange for $250,000, reports CBS News affiliate WHNT in Huntsville, Ala.

I thought that Joran Van der Sloot said he had nothing to do with Natalee Holloway’s disappearance, or so says Aruban authorities, prosecutors and the 3 judge panel. Wanna try that one again folks?

The extortion criminal compliant can be read HERE. Joran Van der Sloot in his infinite wisdom, or lack there of has finally cooked his goose in the case of Natalee Holloway. Since Aruba was never going to prosecute either Joran Van der Sloot, Deepal Kalpoe or Satish Kalpoe in the death of Natalee Holloway, the family had always looked to a way to have jurisdiction be in the United States. Previous attempts have been struck down. Guess what, Joran Van der Sloot’s latest efforts of extortion have now created the nexus for there to be jurisdiction in the US.

Count One

That on or about May 10, 20lO, the defendant, Joran van der Sloot, did obstruct, delay, and affect commerce and the movement ofany article or commodity in commerce, by extortion and attempts to do so, in that, the defendant did knowingly and wilfully cause another person to wire transfer a partial payment of money ($15,000) from a financial institution in Birmingham, Alabama, to a financial institution in the Netherlands, after representing to the other person that he would provide the location ofNata lee Holloway’s remains in Aruba and information regarding the circumstances of her death, upon receipt of $250,000 from the other person, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 1951(a).

Count Two

That on or about May 10, 20 lO, the defendant, Joran van der Sioot, having devised or intending to devise any scheme and artifice to defraud, or for obtaining money or property by means of false or fraudulent pretenses, representations, or promises, did knowingly and with intent to defraud did knowingly and wilfully cause to be transmitted by means of wire communication in interstate and foreign commerce, any writings, signs, signals, pictures, or sounds, that being, a wire transfer in the amount of $15,000, from Birmingham, Alabama, to the Netherlands for the purpose ofexecuting and attempting to execute such scheme and artifice, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 1343.

U.S. Attorney Joyce White Vance says Joran Van Der Sloot is charged with extortion, wire fraud.

U.S. Attorney Joyce White Vance announced the charges Thursday, saying that on or about May 10, Van der Sloot had someone transfer $15,000 from a bank in Birmingham to a bank in the Netherlands. This was to be a partial payment. The U.S. Attorney said Van der Sloot claimed he would provide the location of Holloway’s remains in Aruba and information regarding the circumstances of her death after he received the full $250,000.

Although the complaint did not name the individual paying the money; however, we can speculate that it was possibly Beth Holloway, Natalee’s mom and according to Blink on Crime …” Sources, willing to speak to only on the condition of anonymity, suggest the victim of Van Der Sloot’s extortion plot was none other than Natalee’s mother, Beth Holloway.”

Transcript from On the Record with Greta Van Susteren (06/03) discussing the arrest of Joran Van der Sloot in Chile.

One thing is for certain, Joran Van der Sloot’s days of terrorizing Natalee’s family and murdering any more woman are over. It’s time for Peru and the US to do what Aruba refused to … provide justice for Natalee and take Joran Van der Sloot, an obvious predator off the streets.
