JULIAN Assange has lost his appeal to block his extradition to Sweden through the British Courts, but the Wikileaks founder missed the judgment - possibly because of traffic congestion.

The 40-year-old Australian was not present at the Supreme Court to hear the decision.

But his lawyer Dinah Rose QC immediately flagged her intention to appeal the judgment.

Speaking outside court John Pilger said he believed Assange may have been caught in traffic.

The case hinged on a single point - that the Swedish prosecutor who issued a warrant for his arrest was not a valid judicial authority in the eyes of British law.

Prosecutors acting for Sweden countered that the European Arrest Warrant system allowed for differences in legal procedures between countries.

The court sided with the prosecutors, dismissing Assange's appeal by a majority of five to two.

He is wanted for questioning over rape and sexual assault allegations in Sweden.

Assange, who grabbed the world’s attention when his website Wikileaks released secret secret video footage and thousands of US diplomatic cables about Iraq and Afghanistan in 2010, has been fighting extradition since his arrest in Britain the same year.

He has argued extradition to Stockholm could pave the way for his extradition to the United States where he could face espionage or conspiracy charges over the leaks.

Haha, .......

This USA is a long long way from that ... Hell by the time the case has gone through the channels there might not even be a USA, the way the U.S economy is going you may need to sell the country to pay your debts.

Moreover ....

What can the USA charge him with Laugh

Treason 🙄

He's not American.

Stealing U.S secrets 🙄

He didn't steal anything, Manning did.

Two different articles from two different papers with two different view.

But Your right, this topic is not anything to do with war or terrorism & should not be treated as such .....

The face is, it's a case involving U.S war crimes. & Julian Assange is not a war criminal for exposing U.S war crimes & U.S Lies.

Lets not forget this case still faces a further appeal.

& even then there is the European court left.

& even if an appeal in the European court fails, there is still the case in Sweden to go.

& that trial has it's own issues as well.

this whole deal could take ages yet.

Yeah right, what can he be charged with in the USA according to a nobody from Austrailia??? You couldn't even define a parking ticket in the USA let alone complex federal laws. Obvious you have been wrong about UK laws, the Supreme Court ruled twice against him, this time 5-2. Assange is running out of options. appealing the lost appeal to the highest court in the UK again, and starting over with the European court hoping to overturn UK Supreme Court rulings, of basic legal premises in 2 European counties. Good Luck! You need to have a case to open that case, and the European court, is very unlikly to go against Swedish law, or the UK Supreme Court rulings, that are sound and with merit. Neither has anything to do with possible USA investigations, or extraditions that have not even been brought to any court, or the USA at all.

Assange did this all to himself, all by himself.

Getting caught in traffic is also not a excuse to appeal if you missed the ruling. Thats dumber than being late for your on funeral. Laugh

Bottom line is that Sweden's right to their own system, does not have to match the system of the UK, USA, or Austrailia. The European Court will probably refuse to hear a case, that goes against sound rulings. Like the appeal of the appeal, the chances are slim and none, as to prevailing. He has 14 days for the next appeal to be filed with the UK Supreme Court. All to avoid only questioning.

Thinking more about the excuse of being caught in traffic, what a bunch of bullshit. He was a no show, becasue he thought if turned down, they could take him into custody immediatly for extradition. This bought them time to let the court know of an appeal, and that it would be filed within the next 14 days. This guy is a real piece of crap, but of course thats just my opinion, but what do you expect from a womanizing date rapist? No more ridiculous than someone wanting to elect him to a public office in Austrailia. 😛

Laugh

looks like somebody has got his knickers in a knot.

:boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo:

Fact is Juliane has nothing to lose here, even if they do extradite him to Sweden where the rape charges will be thrown out, & he is then sent to the USA under the U.S rendition program.

SO WHAT ....

What Is going to happen.

The USA will torturer him until he tells them that the person who betrayed the USA,

The person who stole U.S military secrets was ....

((( Bradly Manning )))

A U.S citizen & a member of the U.S military.

But the entire world already knows that Laugh

For an expert about nothing, you talk like you know everything!. The truth is you do not know squat about his crimes, and know even less about the laws of other countries. When the truth does come out, I'm sure you will have something stupid to say about the United States. The sad part is you actually believe we would torture him.

You say things like

"greeney2" wrote: The truth is you do not know squat about his crimes, and know even less about the laws of other countries.

Yet you NEVER back up any of your claims with any facts.

1st. the rape charges are fake and we all know it.

Even the fist too Swedish jurisdictions knew they were fake, which is why the women had to go from one jurisdiction to the next before they found somebody willing to charge Julian Assange with the trumped up charges.

1 September 2010

2nd
Julian Assange can't be charged with treason, as he is not a US traitor, due to the fact he is not American.
He is Australian. You can't betray a country if you never pledged any loyalty to in the first place.

Espionage Charges.

The USA is yet to prove anything against Julian Assange .......

The USA can't prove anything as it is all hearsay.

Where are the facts. the USA does not have any. Case closed.

Bradley Manning is the traitor here, Bradley Manning is the US military agent who stole US secrets & passed them onto Wikkileaks.

There is ZERO evidence that Julian Assange had any involvement in the uploading of US war crimes to the Wikileaks website.

The USA needs to show a link between Bradley Manning & Julian Assange, THEY CANT.

FAIL.

denies-assange-secret-warrant-t7417.html

FACT IS

Bradly Manning is not the fist US agent to SELL OUT HIS OWN COUNTRY.

We all remember the likes of.

Robert Hanssen.

Julius and Ethel Rosenberg.

Benedict Arnold

The Truth is the USA has never been able to keep it's military secrets & intelligence ..... Secret & safe.

The fact is Bradly Manning could have passed this information regarding US war crimes onto anybody who then could have uploaded the information onto the wikileaks site themselves.

Bradly Manning may have even passed the information onto China or Russia or a number of other country's or terrorist groups who used the wikileaks site to hide there own involvement in the matter while gaining international coverage at the same time.

Like i said ....

Prove your case .... State your facts.

If he is so innocent, why is he such a coward to just answer questions. But thanks or prooving you really do not know squat about the law. I though Austrailians were brave men, unafraid to stand up to anyone. Some Hero! Laugh

Sounds like an easy win in court, why run like a coward to the UK, and fight every inch of extradition?

Maybe his womanizing, date rapist ways, have caught up with him! He is well known in his circle of friends for his indiscreations. Scumbags usually are scumbags with ethics as well as with these issues, just like this one. I can tell you don't have sisters. 🙄

"rath" wrote: Julian Assange can't be charged with treason,

LIke I said if you knew US law you would know nobody has been charged with treason in a very long time. I'm not even sure if thats one of Bradleys charges, but he does face over 22 charges. Espionage is another story. Conspiracy is also another story. If you think the guy who drives the getaway car, is not just as guilty as the bankrobbers inside, you are mistaken, they all conspired togather. Conspiracy is a crime. Pocessing stolen property is a crime. Hacking into government computers is a crime. He knowingly used that stolen property in defiance of orders to return it. Lack of evidence is what may keep him from charges, not innocence, which is the price we pay in this country for freedom. Make no mistake, there is a multitude of crimes he may end up charged for, including the endangerment of names on those documents, or even the endangerment of people not named but keyed to sensitive operations. Possible informants they know were killed as a result, and people were killed as a result.

One thing I know for sure, your opinion shows blind ignorance only becasue Assange is Austrailian. While defending the likes of Assange only becasue he is Austrailian, you radiate your own ignorance concerning laws of rape, in other counties. That these charges were "trumped up", like Assange is the victim, and not 2 woman he violated by Sweden's laws. None of which has a thing to do about the USA or Wikeleaks or any of those crimes, and everything to do about the character of this Scumbag from Austrailia.
