For all the bleeding hearts who think the death penalty is to cruel, these inmates just adapt to life in the general population, and this is how most of them turn their lives around. They lived like animals and it got them in prison, and in prison they are worse. Our Governor just released 40,000 of these idiots early, and the day 2 lunatics abducted a 10 year old girl out of her home, released or pardoned 65 more. Guess what? one of the lunatics previously released in January, with an extensive record, was one of those who abducted the 10 year old.
You bring up the death penalty in connection with this... and to be honest, helps support those who are anti-death penalty.
Meaning, the problem is not the people, it's the system in which these people are handled.
You think it's their fault that they can bring guns into a jail, gamble, and be like they are on the streets? No, it isn't. They don't know any better. Jails should be better run for these people to be given the CHOICE to become better people.
If you take people out of the hood, where they are used to being hoodlums... and you put them in a hood surrounded by barbed wire. Are they not going to be hoodlums because of the wire? No... we need to clean that all up, and that doesn't take money, that takes leadership.

So the system has released 40,000 of these people, in the last year, in California, back into our streets. They wonder why nobody wants to serve on jury duty, when you put these people away, only to have them released. Good citizens do their duty, but the justice system fails to uphold their end, its no wonder they all say, I will not waste my time doing jury duty. Supposedly the non-violent ones get released, but did they explain the one on the run, for abducting the 10 year old. Yes, the system sucks, but look who are the main ones inside prisons. The gangs seem to rule even inside the prisons. They use as an excuse their funding to release them, and it is all just another way for them to get us to get in a panic, and agree to higher taxes.
Hard to believe anyone gets out for good behavior, when they are surrounded by bad behavior in the prisons. I am sure none of us know the half of how corrupt some of the guards are.
I hope you can come up with a better system or alternative, because the current system is a joke. We give break after break to people with wealth or fame, like Lindsey Lohan or worse like Bobby Brown. Several DUI's in our neighborhood, a long draw out plea deal, and he is let out in 9 hours, back driving on the streets. As far as the hard core crime offenders, for every one that is in prison, probably 10 are never going to see the inside of a police station, they are getting away with murder.
