Hello! I heard about this site from a podcast and came here to start digging but lost on where to start. My grandfather worked for the CIA starting in the 1940s. He’s dead now but with the declassification of many documents I wondered if I could get help figuring out what he most likely did.... here’s info I know:
worked for the CIA for 20 years
from Arizona and was too young to be drafted to war (17 at the time)
called himself a spook but his title was a Foreign service reserve officer
Took his family with him as he worked all over the globe
started in Austria
Then went to Japan, Honduras, Argentina, Bolivia, Columbia and Ecuador
Spoke German, Spanish, Portuguese, and Japanese (just a little)
said he used to play tennis with the enemy
used to pass information to a person (lady) in a movie theater
ended up at Langley in the 1960s
always said he worked for “the company”
he was in Honduras during a civil war because the kids talk about bullets flying through the walls and having to lay on the floor for hours.
Anyways if anyone could point me in the direction of what declassified files to look in, that would be great. Thanks!
