Apparently the cause of this was a "methane bubble explosion"... 😕

When does this leak pose a planetary threat to survival? If it makes it to the Gulf Stream it will end up world wide. I'm talking about the toxic contaminents starting a chain reaction of extinction in the ecosystem. Starting with plankton then going to fish and whales and moving up the chain.

I herd the casuse, but I thought that was what those tall pipes that burn near refineries were for, to burn off gasses.

I find it hard to believe that oil spilled havn;t occured naturally as plate tectonics move. I would think this occurs more often than we know on the ocean floor. I might be wrong.

The magnitutde of such prospect shows the extensive crime BP committed.

Another update for y'all.

Current leak rate estimate: 210,000 gals/day

New 'cap' to be attempted by BP, won't be ready for a few more days

BP received permission from US EPA to warm the 'cap' with hot sea water

Breach repaired in swamp protection wall, fresh water being pumped from Mississippi River to help keep oil out

Huh...someone at AP had reported BP/TransOcean's Deepwater Horizon as having been operating on site since 2008. Turns out it drilled the 35,050' deep well in September '09. 😐

"Deepwater Horizon, brought to you by Hyundai." 🙄

'Methane bubble explosion'...how embarrassing, maybe they should try Beano next time. What a bunch of maroons!

Hey, wouldn't you know, Halliburton helped screw up another project: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/05.....q-n-a.html (scroll down, they did the cement work)

What happened to the whole putting choped up golf balls down the hole.

Passed on that hay.

Also, whats with the oil dispersant they used to Clean-Up the oil.

It's depleting the water of oxygen an killing the sea life, & forcing the oil deeper into the ocean.
