OK, I'll be honest, I did not read all the responses, so I hope I am not duplicating something.
But consider this... do we want to find intelligent life? And by we, I mean all of us? I for one hope we don't. Let's look at our world's and our country's history. We don't get along as a species. Not even our religions that preach peace and love are free from violence and trying to kill each other. Consider the Crusades of the Christians, and how many they killed. Consider how many extreme Muslims are now trying to kill others, and that's just two examples, and they are both based upon a "book" that tells them how to live, yet it seems all cultures find reasons to interpret these books as excuses for killing their own kind, just different belief systems.
So now let's look at the countries... including us, in the USA. We are constantly telling others they are not living correctly, and this is in their own countries. We go to war because we think they don't treat their citizens right.
So, we meet an intelligent race that is way ahead of us on the evolutionary or technological chain, and we decide they aren't treating their women, their children, or some other part of their citizenship the way "WE" think they should, and we go to war with them... this time we LOSE for sure!!!!
At least that's my opinion, and maybe they just don't want to carry on discussions with people as opinionated as we are!!! LOL.. yeah, I know, that includes me!!!

I think that once we discover an advanced alien race we will quickly find that they don't treat others the way we would like to be treated. They use other species as they see fit. They create drones to do their scouting that are alive but not self aware. They know how to turn humans into drones, or zombies if you prefer. The few abductions that I believe are true indicate that they see humans as lab specimens. Not a rosey picture.
I just hope the government is doing their job and preparing for the eventual encounter. I wonder what's in those big hangars at area 51.

Oh, I also had an idea recently about sound. The first modern abduction was the Betty and Barney Hill case, and the aliens did have some trouble subduing Betty and Barney, especially Betty. But all the abduction reports after that indicated that aliens have no trouble subduing humans, even from a distance. I think the Betty & Barney aliens quickly discovered the human off switch during their experiments. That off switch is probably something audible.
Where did I get this idea? From the Ark of the Covenant. Paralyzing the enemy was one of the things the Ark did. And we know the Ark was a communication device, the voice of god. I bet this off switch was put in place by the aliens who created the human race 170,000 - 250,000 years ago, as a safety switch. I wonder what the magic sound is? The military already has sound based weapons so we know the theory is sound, uh reasonable. Scared yet?
What I have noticed in dealing with animals...is that a low frequency but not intense per se...in volume...noise is very calming ..even to women. The purr to a cat..or even calming low tones to a horse or dog..etc etc. These have calming effects on animals.
Higher frequencies tend to alarm animals more than calm them.
I suspect the same pattern follows in music.
I am not big into Aliens as promoted by science, television, or movies and such ..but I do know certain patterns from Occult histories and dogmas...ledgends..including "The Shout."

Have we tried to make contact with Ants?
Have we somewhere not opened up "'safe" Natural Parks for animals to live with almost no human contact. Humans go there rarely, pick few animals up, tag them or collect samples and go away with animal still being drugged. And reason being so that we dont disturb their what ever "culture" or animal behavior.
The difference between us and Chimps as DNA is 1%. What if the aliens are like 2% ahead in that DNA. Not even more. The difference then would HUGE between us n them. What ever biggggggest achievement we think we have done, must be their baby's daily work.
If difference is 2% then logically wont they want Earth to be that "'safe" preserve to preserve our culture or "earthly" behavior. just once in a while, drop in, drug us, take some samples, and move on. Would animals at night talk about "alien abduction" and show marks to each other, marks which no tool of Animal World can make. And show some material which is like around their ankles(tags) as "alien abduction" proof. And is made of material which is unknown to them?
Is it just our ego we think we are way superior we have consciousness. But eventually difference is 1%. For a 2% different creature we are just insignificant Anthill in someones lab in someones back ground.
Sad thought, but might be true.

It says that aliens are observing us but have decided not to interact with us. That they are allowing Humans to develop on our own. This got me thinking it sounded like a Star Trek "Prime Directive" kind of thing.
Perhaps this is the way things are done for any newly discovered race that has not yet achieved a set level of criteria. One could be a united planetary government. Another could be if a race develops nuclear weapons it is observed to see how things play out. A third could be a race colonizing it's own star system.
But until these criteria are met the rule is hands off and observe.
What does anyone else think? Anything I haven't thought of?
If abductions and mutilations accur, there goes Star Fleet's Prime Directive.
I am still on the fence on this one. My experiences can be attributed to dreams, optical illusions etc.
But I think they were real.
Perhaps the aliens feel we are below them and not worth meeting.
Howard Menger stated "Until we all as a planet start thinking correctly, they will not meet with us in the open."

There's probably alot of truth to that. We as a race may not be ready. I keep hearing
people say how it would radically change the world we know. To get us ready I think there is a slow effort on the ETs part to prepare us. Even discussing this may be part of their plan.
What if it were true?
