So... I am 15, I don't know what's going on but whenever I am home alone I am really anxious to go into dark rooms and places. I always feel like paranormal activity is going on, but it's probably not. I've seen lots of movies, videos, shows, and more things related to paranormal activity, ghosts, and reptillian creatures.

Whenever I enter my house I turn the lights on fast because I feel like something might happen to me. I am not afraid of the darkm but I am afraid of what might be IN the dark.

I feel like a pussy bit I am mentally freaked out and anxious. Can someone talk to me?

Well allright then, I'll get you off it.

-Just a second.

Can you imagine anything about how it would be like if you would no longer have that fear? If you think about it?

Getting rid of the fear would result in me sleeping better. And less anxious around my house.

Let your fear blossom and lead to you becoming an expert on the paranormal.

You do know the world is run by shapeshifting monsters?

Sweet dreams.

Hi,

I went through this when I was a teenager after watching horror movies for a year or so.

Firstly, I would give the scary movies a break, in fact stop watching them altogether. If you like watching movies try and find another genre that you enjoy but doesn't create fear or anxiety; it'll help you deal with anxiety when you're alone.

That feeling is perfectly normal and healthy when real danger is present, it's probably there to keep us alive. But not so helpful or healthy when the danger is imagined. Keep turning the lights on if that makes you feel safe; but practice being in the dark, just a little at first, increasing the time each day.

Be kind to yourself. The mind is a powerful thing and can get out of hand if you let it. There's lots of things you can do that'll help with anxiety, like meditation, deep breathing and basic stuff like  eating well and getting lots of sleep. If you feel fear or anxiety, take a deep breath and focus on the feeling of air moving in your nostrils and filling your lungs, then exhale doing the same and repeat a few times; focus on breathing not your fearful thoughts and see how you feel. You could also check out some simple meditation lessons on YouTube.

But be careful with books and movies you consume as they definitely influence how you see and experience life, well that's been my experience.

Good luckLaugh

When I was very young me and my younger brother would sometimes be left at home alone with out anyone looking after us. Which was stupid as we were too afraid to go upstairs to the toilet and would end up pooing our pants.
