Talk:Conspiracy theory
From The Black Vault Encyclopedia Project
I would just make one simple point that I seldom see made about so-called "conspiracy theories." An explanation is not false BECAUSE it hypothesizes a conspiracy as being behind a particular event. Some events really ARE the (provable) results of conspiracies. And this observation raises a second interesting point. In whose interest is it to discredit "conspiracy theories" as a genre? Why, conspirators, of course! If one includes certain governmental agencies' psychological experiments in areas such as "psywar," etc., one begins to see how easy it is to manipulate the mainstream media, especially, into discrediting any and all "conspiracy theories" as being inherently ridiculous and beyond the pale. Thus this discrediting would further serve to cover the conspirators' tracks....
