In the neighborhood

I live in newport oregon and i saw almost the very thing described here. around sept. 25th or thereabouts. it was early in the morning about 4-5 am. i was out side looking at venus which has been very bright lately in the east. at any rate i noticed an object about half the size of venus but just as bright. it was a constant rather than pulsating or flashing and the color was bright white. it was moving north to south in a straight line. i watched it until it went out of sight behind some distant clouds. i assumed it was a satelite but most satelites seem to travel for southeast to north west. this was going north to south. it could have been the international space station but i dont rightly know which direction it orbits. but it was early morning and whatever it was was certainly reflecting the light from the rising sun.
