One of the strange things about UFO investigation is that you have to pick up facts where they fall-like pieces of a puzzle strewn about by a carless handling of it. Some pieces can seem to fit-while others don't seem to go anywhere! And yet, once in awhile, you come across some bit of information that seems to pull things together. This was the case of a lady I will refer to here as Sally. Sally and her husband were a retired couple from the Deep South. Like most retirees, their social security payments made life rather skimpy and they decided to take on part-time jobs. Nothing all that mysterious so far. Since they had always wanted to live on a ranch, their daughter-the wife of an Air Force officer stationed near Omaha-heard about an ad looking for a couple to help with light housework and yardwork. Sally and her husband, Frank, decided to give it a whirl. The place where they would be staying was very remote, but the people they worked for were very nice and kindly so they did not mind the social isolation. About six months into the job, Frank had to go away from home overnight on business, so Sally was left alone in the bunkhouse. In the quiet of a western Nebraska evening, Sally engrossed herself in a book and lost all track of time. Then she began to get very tired. The next thing she recalled was that she could neither move nor speak! When she came to the next morning, she had blood and the taste of ether in her mouth! She knew this-along with missing time-to be classic UFO visitation evidence. Shortly after this, Sally began-among other things-to feel an intense heat/burning sensation for several minutes of every day! She felt this whether she was on the ranch, visiting her daughter, or traveling to yet another location! When she reported it to government agencies, they assured her that they would do something about it and it would stop for awhile. Then start again. At the urging of her daughter, Sally went to see a physics professor who listened to her story without being judgemental. He suggested that she purchase a lower-cost Geiger counter and to see if when the heat attacks were going on, if the counter registered anything radioactive. He further suggested that she get a friend or neighbor to look at the Geiger counter and verify what she(Sally) had seen! Well, she did this and lo and behold! It went absolutely crazy! But what on earth was it? And could it have been alien in origin? I had heard no more about Sally for several years and then came across an article in a magazine which said the following:

"Now it is reported that the Pentagon is experimenting with an array of weapons including the Active Denial System(ADS) which is a microwave 'ray gun' designed by Raytheon which directs unbearable heat on the skin from a 2km distance and is specifically designed for crowd dispersal." As an alledged UFO contactee, many people would label Sally as a bit nuts or at the very least an oddball. Consequently, anything she would report would be taken with a grain of salt. What better specimen than Sally for the government to try out this device on? We may never know, however it certainly makes a lot of sense if you are a government agency that wanted to keep this weapon secret!
