The Article

Authorities are no longer laughing at the "mysterious" red lights above Morris County. The lights, which could be flares attached to balloons, have appeared periodically all winter. The most recent sighting was Tuesday night where the lights caused some drivers to stop their cars on Route 80 to get a better look.

The idea behind the lights is to simulate UFO sightings. Those with experience in this craft have told the Daily Record that the pranks are fairly common and that they work. Indeed. Every night the lights have appeared, people report UFO sightings to the Daily Record, to police and to outfits like the National UFO Reporting Center in Washington. Now the Morris County Prosecutor's Office says the Federal Aviation Administration is concerned the lights may pose a risk to aircraft. We support any investigation, but we hope prosecutor Robert Bianchi doesn't find himself tangling with Mars.
