UFO Casebook Briefing

Beginning on September 22, 2004, one of the most dramatic series of UFO sightings in recent months began in Northern Ohio. The UFO Casebook ran an article on the initial report, but this event was not to be short lived. Sightings of strange objects of different colors in circular shapes, military jet flyovers, contrails, and even FEMA vehicles continued as more and more witnesses came forward with their reports. The Olmstead Falls Police Department investigated these sightings, and were rewarded with multimedia of the event. The publicity of the events in and around Cleveland became so widespread that radio station WTAM 1100 moved its most popular talk show outside to catch a glimpse of this unknown phenomena.

I had been alerted to this event by my good friend R. David Anderson, UFORA member, and UFO enthusiast, but had just not gotten around yet to fully investigating this case, although it was on my "to do" list. On 10-08-04, I received the following email from Amy.

Witness Testimonial

Hi, I'm a member (and fan) of your site and had to share this with you. Here is a link to radio station WTAM 1100, they have been doing a story all week about UFOs and military planes flying in the OHIO skies. Go to the site click on the radio personality Mike Trivisonno it will take you to photos taken by the Olmstead police Monday night, and it also has all the calls of people calling in to say what they saw. My husband and I are in Akron and we saw it too, it was there a really long time.

Listen to all the callers, another peculiar thing, this radio station is one of the biggest, it was the only station who kept their power thru the power outages last summer, they claim they have the best engineers and equipment around and in 17 yrs have never been knocked off the air, even during tornados. They went off the air 4 times Tuesday (perfect weather, not a cloud in the sky) and their station was being buzzed all day by a blue cessna plane they say flew over 7 times. A caller claims to have lost his GPS signal on his laptop which is controlled by the military. Listen to the callers; it will flip you out.

People are claiming to see Army convoys, and the Army has shut down roads. Hope to see our state on your site. They also ran the story on channel 19 news last night at 10:00.

Mysterious Trails over Northern Ohio

My name is Amy McCrary, my husband Ed and I saw something too, before I heard the radio station, we were in at the gas station in Akron, the corner of Waterloo and Manchester Rd. The weather was perfect, the sky was clear, I noticed a cloud near the Sun, it reminded me of those photos of cloudships, it had a small round spot of a rainbow.

It wasn't a rainbow, didn't have the arc, just like a piece of a rainbow, I pointed it out to my husband who was pumping gas, I said it looks like a cloudship with the UFO lights coming thru on the bottom. I was joking, it was a couple hours later that I turned on the radio and heard all the calls, wish I would have grabbed my camera. It wasn't like the ribbon thing they saw that night, this was the next day about 5 in the evening; it looked a lot like the photo they had during the day with the colors, only it was attached to a cloud and had more colors than the photo.

You better believe I'll be out watching today with all my cameras. I'm a ghost hunter, but have seen several UFOs in my lifetime, the most notable when I was 12 yrs old, In Akron, I witnessed one with my father, 2 sisters, and my best friend Stephanie. Sure wish I would have taken a photo. If I am lucky enough to see something today, I'll definitely send it to you. Take care,

Amy

OLMSTED FALLS — September 30, 2004-The opening credits of the science fiction show, "The X-Files," always ended with the line, "The truth is out there" — designed to open viewers' minds to the possibility that the fantasy-based story lines could exist. If the "truth" is out there, did a local resident get a glimpse of it over the weekend?

According to a police report, a Wainwright Terrace woman reported Sunday night seeing "something suspicious in the western sky and it was scaring her." The woman said the object was white and green in color.

Using binoculars, several officers observed something in the sky "hovering with a round circle of oscillating red and green lights," the report said.

Police then spoke to an employee with Cleveland Hopkins Airport Operations, who said the airport had received several calls regarding the object, but there was nothing on the flight tower radar.

About 20 minutes later, the airport worker called police back, saying he observed the object, as well, and it could be a satellite. However, the tower was still checking on it and as of Monday, the object had not been identified.

On Tuesday, Bill Steigerwald, with the Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md., raised the possibility that the object might have been a meteor or debris from space. His agency, though, had not been contacted, so he had not seen the pictures taken by Falls police.
