Help The MUFON Archive
From The Black Vault Encyclopedia Project

Introduction
First off, welcome to the project! We definitely appreciate your time and consideration on helping out this project.
As you can tell, it is a tremendous undertaking. The Black Vault has grown beyond my expectations, and the encyclopedia project that you are viewing now, has also reached heights never expected. As the MUFON Archive continues to expand, many of the files you see lack a proper summary, and listing of files contents.
Well, the wonders of this project, is that ANYONE from AROUND THE GLOBE can come online, edit pages, and take part in expanding this community. It is free to join (and required if you want to edit pages) and can be done by following the links on the upper right corner of your screen to register for a free account.
How to Help
There are many ways to help! But the most needed in the MUFON Archive is indexing and summarizing the MUFON case files. These files, as collected by MUFON over the years, are quite sizeable in some cases. We need your help to write a summary, and if possible, index the files on the appropriate pages for reference.
Confused? Don't be. Let's take an example. Load the UFOs_and_the_U.S._Air_Force page in a new browser window (so you don't lose this page... and you can follow along. To do so, right click on the link, and click open in new window.)
As you can see, there is no detailed summary on the file, along with nothing in the file contents. If you are logged in, you will see a tab "edit" at the top of the page. This allows you to do just that... edit. Although there are some codes you may have to become familiar with, writing an index/summary is really not difficult, and requires very little, if no knowledge of the language to do special effects.
I have set up an extensive HELP section that better details the ins and outs of editing. I assure you, it isn't hard, and your help is great needed and appreciated!
Need more help?
Ok so my explanation was not quite enough? That's ok, it does take some getting used to! I highly suggest you play around the site a bit and get used to the features. There are a TON of them! Then, edit some of the pages and play around by previewing them. Please, do not press save unless you are doing saving something that is WORTH saving! But if this happens, there are a few of us who keep close watch on the pages, and will revert any unwanted changes back. Each version of the page is saved... so even though I hope nothing is inadvertently changed, we can always go back to a previous version.
If you need any additional help... you can write the creator of The Black Vault, John Greenewald, Jr. at the CONTACT page.
