They announced that JJ Abrams will be the director and it is supposed to come out in 2015.

I thought the new Star Trek reboot was great, so it's worth seeing what Abrams can deliver.

Frankly, as long as Lucas isn't meddling, I wouldn't care if they got a banana to direct the new Star Wars.
War is an extension of economics and diplomacy through other means.

Economics and diplomacy are methods of securing resources used by humans.

Securing resources is the one necessary behavior for all living things.

If George Lucas wasn't involved (I read he is as a consultant) then the hardcore fans would likely find an excuse to hate it. They probably will anyway but this way the film has a better chance of doing well.

Also when are we going to get some meaningful details, such as story etc. I don't care about directors and such. As it is Abrams needs a lesson in proper lighting.
