Syria is an open bleeding wound for all Armenians now! There are as much as 85 thousand of our sisters and brothers living there. This is the most ancient Armenian community in the whole Middle East region.
Syrian Armenians declared their neutral position once the conflict between president Assad and his opposition erupted in Syria. Still opposition forces have recently threatened to sort it out with them for their support of their enemy! Furthermore, our relatives residents of the Syrian city Aleppo have informed us about several young Armenian girls seized by the rebels. Their fate's been unknown so far. They could have been raped and killed! The kidnappers threatened death to their families if they started the search of the girls! Lots of innocent blood may be spilled by those "revolutionaries" if they are not stopped!
Is our president Obama on the message at all? He seems to care more about those pseudo democrats in Syria acting just like rapists and murderers rather preserving good relationship with the Armenian community in his own country!
We are staying well aware of the Turkish motives to render support to opposition forces in Syria. We suspect they just want to eliminate Armenian community in Syria with the hands of those opposition members!! While president Obama appears to be firmly set to overthrow Assad regime at any price, even if it comes to sacrificing Armenian community in Syria. I'm speechless just!
