The Obama Administration & US Politics

The President

As the 2012 election is now over, Barack Obama has won a second term. Many wonder how his policies, his administration, and how the entire political arena, will change our future.

I find it curious to say the least that during the election, many voters believed the President once elected could change things at a personal level for many American votes.

The President is at the top of the tree. He mainly deals with high level decisions on domestic and foreign policies. The information he received, is highly selective and limited based on the limited decision making he needs to take to full fill his role as the President.

The type of decisions he has to make has been filtered out by lower echelons in the political and governmental systems.

It is the mechanisms which are an inherit part of the governmental systems which have to account and deal with the problems, at the level of the ordinary American voters, thus the President would have very limited input in how these systems function. He would have very broad views of certain policies, which in turn have to be acted upon, by those within the mechanism, which in turn would be based upon decision making at that level.

So who are you really voting for? It may have more impact if many concentrated on local governmental officials, Congressman or Senators. Each stage by stage would have narrower and narrower and more concentrated awareness of the problems of the American votes, and citizens.
