This will no doubt be inferior to my first try, but I'll be brief and yeah, metropolis, your sinks and stuff are real groovy man.
Unless you've been someplace without any current news reports lately, you know which border I mean. I'm frankly surprised this topic hasn't been started already given the HIGHLY charged emotional confrontations concerning this subject lately. Then again, so much these days seems to be a few degrees off kilter, upside down/inside out and, most disheartening, orchestrated to keep the American people engaged in hateful vitriol and divisive rhetoric. Is this your America Mr. President? Will the ends really justify these means? "What does it profit a man..."
Without going into the polotics = dialectic of blame game, back and forth, round and round, I, being of reasonably sound mind and body, stand firmly with those who are of the opinion that we should care for these children the best we can instead of loading them right back on transportation pointed back south. They are just children who didn't ask for this, had no part in planning it and, hey c'mon, if we can afford to spy on world leaders halfway around the world, we can surely afford to care for them, feed them and maybe even reassure them of their safety if not their future. I'm quite sure it won't break us; and, even if it does... well some older members may remember my sentiments about that. In my heart I'm sure it's not only the humanitarian thing to do, it's the human thing to do.
With that being said, after they have been cared for, scrubbed and fed, our laws did call for them to be deported back to country of origin until President Obama decreed they shall stay. We know the President isn't responsible for our border being as porous as a kitchen colander, but he didn't have to cut the lock and lay out the welcome mat either. I do not know the solution, but it seems the first thing should be National Guard or whatever is needed to the border to slow this heavy stream of illegals down to at least a trickle. I've always believed in a secure border and I think we even passed a bill a few years ago to appropriate funds to achieve that very thing, but instead of border security we have our current situation. I would go on a rant about endless Congressional gridlock and how ineffective and spineless our representatives are, but truth is we as a people are the root problem. Many exceptions, of course, but the majority of folks are simply apathetic and uninvolved; we just don't push, prod and harass our government like we should and I freely admit to being one of the biggest offenders. Mid-terms are coming though and I've vowed to change that.
Anyway, here goes nothing...
