Very unsettling, magonia, especially considering Mr. Dugan's past employment as the head of DARPA. Gives a whole new meaning to the phrase 'munching on some chips'. What's even worse, imo, than the power hungry technocrats who would jump at the chance to monitor our every action and thought is the (probably) surprising number of sheeple who would welcome with open arms the chance to be monitored. As long as there was some kind of guaranteed govt. subsidy attached, can't you just see the lines around the block?
Maybe even more unsettling is this 'e-tattoo' thing mentioned later in the article. So let's get this straight - it's not enough to know our exact location and activity every second of the day, now we must use our inventive energies to make sure every thought is recorded, analyzed and stored away in the communitarian collective.
It said the e-tattoo thing reads 'brain spikes' sent to the vocal cords that occur even when thoughts go unsaid and even reads things like emotions. Wouldn't it be awful if it somehow malfunctioned while you were in public with your cell or other e-device now loudly broadcasting your thoughts about the people or situation surrounding you.
If that isn't an episode of the Twilight Zone
waiting to be written...
