Although this is set to be a controversial forum, it is detrimental to a community of free speech, open ideas, and dialogue. Warning: Some topics may be offensive to some users.
In this forum dedicated to Racial and Religious Discrimination / Stereotyping, you will find controversial topics and ideas.
The main rule in this area is to stay away from racist comments or attacks. But, in the same respect, this is a place to state your thoughts and ideas on racial profiling, whatever they might be.
I have ZERO tolerance for racial remarks and insults, but, if you'd like to share ideas respectfully, you are free to do so.
We've lived up to the time when Muslims are preferred to non-Muslims when interviewed for a job. And one more personal observation is that Jews are not employed for companies where Muslims prevail!
Officials in charge are scary to be blamed for lack of tolerance towards Muslims. And they are licking boots of those brazen Muslims just to escape such accusations.
Are those officials aware of the fact they are really degrading all the other citizens, Jews in particular. I tried to occupy the position of a Customs agent at the local seaport facility. All in vain! They said I could be a very big irritant for Muslims already working! Fancy the thing! They also mentioned sort of "typical Jewish looks". I don't remember the exact phrase but it was insulting for me.
Perhaps I'm just unlucky and tend to exaggerate things about Jews and all that.... I really can't get it what are our authorities actually after.

If this even happened which I doubt, applying for the customs job, clearly a government position, in this country, the USA, it would be such a violation of labor laws and practices. If this is as far as the UK has come, you are pretty backwards. I can not believe the UK doesn't has places to go about job discrimination. I think your rant is a gross exaggeration.
