As I write this is happening live. He is assending now to 120,000 feet in a capsule by helium ballon. He will jump out and freefall to break the sound barriar. The list of things that could go wrong, is pretty horrifying, hope he makes it Okay. The man who set the record 40 years ago is part of is team. HIs jump was 102,000 feet, and did not break the sound barriar.

broke sound barrier ( not oficial yet)

that will stand a LONG time, last one stood 42 years till today.
his guardian angle was with him. when he started spining like a helacopter
that go scarry , but he regained controle. can u imagine falling 4 minutes +
reaching over 700 mph.

He also did it on the anniversary of Chuck Yeagers X-1 flight breaking the sound barriar.

Looked like he was in a spin for a while at about 700mph.

failed to break the free fall record & their not sure if he broke the sound barrier .....

Im sure he will give it another go soon tho.

Highest previous record was 102,000 feet 40 years ago, his jump today was from 129,000 feet, they kept going up clearing some problems so jumped from 24 miles, hit speed well into the 800mph range, so broke the sound barriar.
