Should someone on welfare be able to spend their funds on paying down credit card and other forms of debt?

If not, then your policy would lead many, many to bankruptcy.

First, I think we need to look at the difference between welfare and an actual SS permanant disabilty claim that is legitimate. Somethings are a result of a catostropic accident or illness, and you truly are unable to ever work again. It isn't intended to be for women who spit out babies for the reason of geting welfare money. A single parent who has lost a spouse due to death qualifies to collect SS for each kid under 18, which is not the same thing. I think you know what is legitimate and what is fraud. Most people who plan on bankruptcy purposely max out their credit cards and debts, so that is just as much fraud, as faking disability.

You're the one who thinks that every penny spent by someone receiving your precious tax dollars should be regulated.
So it's a simple question. Would you allow someone receiving money from the government to spend it to pay down credit cards or student loans or other forms of debt?

Welfare aid is intended to help people who are in diar needs with housing, food, and medical expenses. She was given money for rent, and has not paid her rent in a year? She hasn't paid utilities. The taxpayers gave her money for housing, and she used it elsewhere, thats fraud. No we should not pay for her credit card debts, and I'm also against bankruptcy allowing people to max out 10 cards, and have the debt disolved sticking you and I with the debt in out rates, while she gets to keep everything she bought. The taxpayers already gave student loans, which gave the person an education, we should forgive those debts in bankruptcy, or allow welfare to pay them off? No!

A lot of people recieve money from the government, but it doesn't mean they are on welfare, they get pensions, SS, Medicare coverage, all kinds of money comes from the government for many things. What would be wrong with people on welfare being asked to volunteer some time to community service. The old story, when people abuse the system, everybody else suffers for it. When welfare is nothing but a game and abuse, yes we should regulate it, it people have a way to spend $520 on a haircut. You don't see something wrong with that?

Why not limit what food someone on welfare can buy to a really inexpensive liquid formula that provides all nutritional needs?

Also, if they're not allowed to pay for credit card debt, that's gonna lead straight to bankruptcy.

First off, I believe that the $ 520.00 dollars for haircuts was for more than one as well as products, but that being said, anyone in her position who isn't going to a discount hair salon that charges less than 15.00 is wasting valuable household money.

Lets face it, this woman has some serious issues, and seems to need a lot of attention, and will do just about anything to get it. She had 6 kids before having the 8, and did not support those children.

I think the government needs to go after these crazy fertility clinics that would be stupid enough not to screen potential parents , and allow such a ridiculous amount of embryos to be implanted.

It was obvious to anyone with half a brain that this woman was not thinking clearly, when she did this, it should be obvious that she would not be a good candidate to be a single parent for that many children. There should be serious laws put in place for these clinics in my opinion.

Its so sad, because who really loses out in the end are a bunch of adorable children who didn't ask to be born into this situation.

I really hope she pulls her life together, for her sake and that of those children. She isn't stupid, just seems to be an opportunist . Hopefully she gets out of porn, and heads back to finish her degree in psychology when the kids are all in school.

I looked it up and it was a $520 check written for a previous haircut, while she had a house call to do a Brazilian hair straighening process, plus she sold her $80 worth of hair care products, Making it $440 for 2 haircuts. The check was written on 4/18, it did not say if it cleared or not, but the hairdresser went to the police and reported the conditions of the house and kids. She also had told a plumber $150 was too much to fix the pipes that caused the kids to be using the backyard. Now the lastest is a windshield broken and a death threat, hand written on a piece of paper. Is it real, or just another one of her stunts for public attention, sympathy, and story to sell? She has had other things done to her house as I recall. She depends on playing the feel sorry for me card.

Everyone saw this coming, an everyone knew where having these 8 babies was going to led, having already had 6 already. Her own Mother disowned her, and the news made Mom look horrible over it. They had already been through the mill with her and had enough. Some people think there is nothing wrong with Welfare fraud and abuse, becasue the justify their own with irrelvant comparisons. Why shouldn't Charles Manson have a color TV and a computer, and why shouldn't all the welfare scammers be able to have the taxpayers, get them through life? Both are just a drain on all those who obey laws, work for a living, and do think cheating the Government is right. We pay, they take, and give nothing back. They are parasites with no shame, and we have no choice but to let them get away with it, and fund their mistakes.

Regulating who can use these clinics is tantamount to regulating a person's ability to have kids (for infertile mothers).

That means you're saying to some extent who can and can't have kids and you're basing it on wealth.

I think policy that amounts to prohibiting someone from having kids is wrong. You're denying those potential kids from having the right to live.

She definitely doesn't deserve jail. Revoking her benefits, maybe. And an audit is obviously warranted.
