Biggest full moon of 2012 due Saturday

The moon will officially become full Saturday (May 5) at 11:35 p.m. EDT. And because this month's full moon coincides with the moon's perigee — its closest approach to Earth — it will also be the year's biggest.

Went out a few hours after the peak time, about 10:30PST, it was noticably very very bright. Much more than any normal full moon night. I imagine when it was rising it appeared very large as well. Glad we went outside to take a look.

Unfortunately, the trees blocked the rising of the moon so I couldn't enjoy this opportunity. :cry:
